259: Chapter 259 The Leader's Private Contact Information
At 10:00 AM on Friday, Chen Fan and Fang Hongsheng stood at the entrance of the company building, waiting quietly.
Since a district leader was coming today, the two of them had arrived at the entrance early to wait. They had been waiting for over twenty minutes, but the person had yet to arrive.
"Why aren't they here yet?" Chen Fan picked up his phone and glanced at the time; it was three minutes past ten.
"They should be here soon," Fang Hongsheng replied, his gaze fixed on the intersection ahead.
Just then, a black Audi sedan slowly drove toward them.
The car quickly pulled up to the entrance of the building.
Chen Fan's heart stirred; this must be it.
The front passenger door opened, and a man around thirty years old with a decent appearance stepped out.
After getting out, he walked quickly to the back seat, opened the door, turned slightly to the side, and placed one hand on the upper edge of the door frame.
A middle-aged man in his forties with the unmistakable aura of a leader stepped out of the car.
He was wearing a dark jacket and no tie, yet the moment he stood there, he exuded an aura that commanded respect.
The back door on the other side opened at this moment, and Dean Zhou stepped out of the car.
Seeing this, Chen Fan hurried forward, and Fang Hongsheng followed closely behind.
The two stepped forward to greet them. Chen Fan spoke first: "Dean Zhou."
Fang Hongsheng also called out: "Dean Zhou."
Zhou Mingyuan nodded with a smile, his gaze sweeping over the two of them. His tone was casual yet held the warmth of an elder: "Little Chen, Fang Hongsheng, you're both here. Come, come, let me introduce you. This is the district leader, Secretary Sun."
He stepped aside half a step and gestured toward the middle-aged man in his forties who carried the aura of a leader.
Secretary Sun's gaze shifted from Zhou Mingyuan to Chen Fan. He looked him over, the corners of his mouth curving slightly, and extended his hand.
"Secretary Sun, this is Chen Fan, whom I mentioned to you. He is a student at our university and also the founder of this company," Zhou Mingyuan introduced from the side.
Chen Fan stepped forward and shook Secretary Sun's hand, neither servile nor overbearing: "Hello, Secretary Sun. Welcome to our company for a visit."
Secretary Sun held Chen Fan's hand, looked him up and down, and said with a tone of approval: "Young and promising. A company started by a freshman, and in less than a year, it has developed to this extent."
"You flatter me, Secretary Sun." Chen Fan didn't say much more, keeping a proper, composed smile on his face.
Secretary Sun let go of his hand, shifted his gaze from Chen Fan to Fang Hongsheng, looked him over, and asked: "And who is this?"
"Secretary Sun, this is our company's Fang Hongsheng, Fang Hongsheng, who is also my senior and a graduate of Jiao Tong University." Chen Fan stepped aside slightly to let Fang Hongsheng move to the front.
Secretary Sun extended his hand, shook hands with Fang Hongsheng, and nodded, the smile at the corners of his mouth deepening: "Good, good, good. Two talented young men from Jiao Tong University, both looking sharp. Old Zhou, the students your university produces are truly remarkable."
Dean Zhou smiled, "Little Chen and Fang Hongsheng are indeed excellent."
"Secretary Sun, Dean Zhou, shall we head inside to talk?" Chen Fan couldn't help but suggest.
"Sure, let's go. You lead the way." Secretary Sun nodded and walked inside. The thirty-year-old man on the side immediately followed.
The group arrived at the elevator. Chen Fan pressed the up button, and the elevator doors soon opened.
He stepped aside, waiting for Secretary Sun and Dean Zhou to enter first, then he and Fang Hongsheng followed.
The elevator reached the twelfth floor. The doors opened, and directly opposite was the company's glass entrance.
Chen Fan walked in front, pushed open the glass door next to the access control, and stepped aside.
Having had the experience of hosting Dean Zhou last time, Chen Fan seemed quite familiar with the routine this time.
He introduced the company as they walked.
"Over here are our two game departments, Department One and Department 2. Together, they have over ninety people now," Chen Fan said, pointing to the rows of neat workstations on his left.
"This side is the Marketing Department, which is mainly responsible for game marketing and external collaborations. Operations, distribution channels, and customer service are all in this area."
Secretary Sun nodded, his tone carrying a hint of approval: "Not bad. You have over 100 people now, right?"
Hearing this, Chen Fan glanced at Fang Hongsheng beside him. He knew the approximate number of employees in the company, but he didn't know the exact figure.
Fang Hongsheng understood immediately, stepped forward half a step, and said in a measured tone: "That's right, Secretary Sun. There are over 130 people in total now. Technical R&D accounts for 70%, and the rest are in operations, marketing, and administrative roles. Most were hired over the past two years, primarily fresh graduates and local talent."
Secretary Sun nodded, withdrew his gaze from the workstation area, and fixed it on Chen Fan: "Over 130 people; the pressure on labor costs must be significant, right?"
Chen Fan smiled, neither complaining nor deliberately avoiding the question: "There is certainly pressure, but company growth requires people, so we have to hire when necessary. All we can do is ensure that the value each person creates is greater than their cost; otherwise, the company wouldn't be sustainable."
Secretary Sun listened, nodded thoughtfully, and did not pursue the question further. Instead, he changed the subject: "All employees have social insurance, right?"
"Yes, every employee has the five social insurances and one housing fund."
A look of satisfaction appeared on Secretary Sun's face: "Good. As the enterprise develops, employee benefits must keep up. You can be considered a role model among young entrepreneurs in the district."
Following that, Secretary Sun asked more about the company's operations, and Chen Fan answered each question.
In less than twenty minutes, Secretary Sun stopped, glanced at his watch, and said: "That's all for today. The district will continue to keep an eye on you. If you have any difficulties, feel free to reach out to us anytime."
Chen Fan nodded: "Thank you, Secretary Sun."
"By the way, Little Chen, let's exchange contact information."
Chen Fan was stunned for a moment, then immediately replied: "Certainly, Secretary Sun."
After saving the contact information, Secretary Sun put away his phone: "Alright, we'll be heading off now."
"I'll see you out."
Chen Fan stepped aside and followed slightly behind Secretary Sun as the group walked out of the company entrance.
Chen Fan was walking at the back when the thirty-year-old man who hadn't spoken until now walked up to him and whispered: "Manager Chen, the number the leader just gave you is his private number. I hope you will try not to share it with others."
Chen Fan glanced at him, nodded, and didn't say anything more.
He understood this principle, of course. You don't call a leader's private number unless it's an emergency, and you certainly don't spread it around.
Giving it to you is a sign of trust; spreading it around would be immature.
It was just that Chen Fan hadn't expected to be able to get a district leader's private contact information. If Old Chen knew about this, he would probably be very excited.
Seeing him nod, the man didn't say anything else and quickened his pace to catch up with Secretary Sun in front.
The group entered the elevator. Chen Fan followed, pressed the button for the first floor, and then stepped to the side.
When they reached the first floor, the doors opened. Secretary Sun walked out, and Chen Fan followed behind him all the way to the building entrance.
Secretary Sun stopped, turned around to look at Chen Fan, and extended his hand: "That's far enough."
Chen Fan shook his hand: "Take care, Secretary Sun."
Secretary Sun let go of his hand and turned to get into the car. Before leaving, Dean Zhou patted Chen Fan on the shoulder, whispered "Keep up the good work," and then followed him into the car.
