283: Chapter 283 Personnel Adjustments in Vanti
Seeing that everyone's attention was drawn to him, Chen Fan didn't beat around the bush. "After the adjustment, the overall structure will be divided into six departments: the Operations Department, Product Development, Marketing Department, Supply Chain Department, Customer Service Department, HR Department, Administration Department, and Finance Department."
The meeting room fell silent for a moment. The division of responsibilities for each department quickly flashed through everyone's minds, like a silent calibration of their respective expected boundaries.
"Now, let's talk about the personnel adjustments."
As soon as he said this, everyone instantly perked up. The previous structural adjustment was just a framework; the upcoming personnel adjustments were what truly affected their personal interests. Their gazes converged on him once again.
"First is Li Nan. Previously the operations manager, her position is now adjusted to Company Director, responsible for managing the Operations, Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, Administration, and Customer Service departments. Her salary will also be increased accordingly."
Li Nan froze for a moment, and then a flash of excitement crossed her eyes.
She had expected to eventually be promoted to director—promotions in startups were indeed easier than in large companies—but she hadn't expected Chen Fan to elevate her to the director position so quickly.
"Li Nan, do you have the confidence to do this well?" Chen Fan asked, looking at her.
"Rest assured, Mr. Chen, I won't let you down."
Chen Fan nodded, then looked at another person. "Zhao Xiaoran, previously the company's designer, is now adjusted to Product Development Department Supervisor."
Zhao Xiaoran was taken aback, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes. Then, she spoke hesitantly, "Mr. Chen, I think I..." She paused. "I've been with the company for less than half a year and have no prior management experience. I'm afraid I won't be up to the task."
Chen Fan felt a bit helpless; he hadn't expected Zhao Xiaoran to decline.
But it wasn't surprising either. Zhao Xiaoran didn't seem like the assertive type, and she hadn't been working for long, so this kind of reaction was normal.
"How about this: you take on the supervisor role for now, and Li Nan will help guide you. It should be fine. If it really doesn't work out, we can look for someone else."
"Alright, Mr. Chen," Li Nan said.
Seeing Chen Fan put it this way, Zhao Xiaoran stopped hesitating and nodded. "Alright, Mr. Chen, then I'll take it on for now."
Immediately after, Chen Fan looked at a man sitting in the middle.
"Sun Liang, previously a warehousing specialist, is now adjusted to Supply Chain Supervisor. We are currently quite short-staffed in warehousing, so your next task is to coordinate with HR to get enough people recruited as soon as possible."
Sun Liang had also joined the company when it was first founded. Over the past few months, both Chen Fan and Li Nan felt that his abilities and character were good, which was why Chen Fan placed him in the position of Supply Chain Supervisor.
"Alright, Mr. Chen," Sun Liang said, standing up with a flash of excitement in his eyes.
Chen Fan then looked at one of the girls. She was about twenty years old and quite pretty. During the meeting, she kept stealing glances at Chen Fan, quickly averting her eyes whenever their gazes met, only to look back again after a while.
"Ma Qianqian, your position is adjusted to Customer Service Supervisor."
Ma Qianqian clearly hadn't expected to be called on and froze. "...Me?"
"No confidence?"
"I have confidence!" Ma Qianqian blurted out, her eyes lighting up. "Don't worry, Mr. Chen, I will definitely handle this area well."
Chen Fan nodded and motioned for her to sit down.
Actually, her abilities were average and not particularly outstanding, but she had led a team in a call center and had some experience with customer service scheduling, script standards, and complaint handling. Letting her gain experience in a supervisor role for a while wouldn't be much of an issue as long as she didn't make any major mistakes.
Chen Fan continued, "There are only two or three people in the Administration Department, so Li Nan, you can manage it directly. The Marketing Department is missing a supervisor, so you and HR need to recruit a head for it as soon as possible."
"Alright, Mr. Chen," Li Nan nodded.
"Alright, onto the second matter." Chen Fan leaned back in his chair. "The company is growing rapidly now, so we need to consider offline sales channels ahead of time."
Hearing this, Li Nan thought for a moment before speaking, "Mr. Chen, our online channels aren't fully mature yet. If we rush into offline development, it could easily divide our focus, and offline costs are much higher than online."
"I understand," Chen Fan said. "There's no rush for offline. My point is that we can draft an offline plan first. We can start by opening one store as a trial. If it goes well, we can proceed with that model."
Hearing this, Li Nan looked at Chen Fan. "Mr. Chen, do you already have a suitable location in mind?"
Chen Fan thought about it. Opening a store for his parents in his home county wasn't really suitable to discuss in the meeting, so he said, "Let's put this matter aside for now. I'll discuss it with you privately later."
Li Nan nodded. "Alright, Mr. Chen."
Chen Fan moved on to the third matter: "We have more and more staff now, and the office is getting cramped. We need to lease a new office as soon as possible. This time, let's lease a larger one directly, preferably an entire floor."
Hearing this, both Li Nan's and Zhao Xiaoran's eyes lit up.
Last time, they had visited Chen Fan's other company, where the entire floor was a spacious, bright working environment with plenty of room between workstations. Looking at their own office, the workstations were almost fully packed, sample clothes and delivery boxes were piled up in the aisles, and they had to walk sideways. It was indeed a bit cramped.
They had thought they would have to stay here for a long time, but they hadn't expected to move offices so soon.
"Li Nan will be mainly in charge of the new office. If anyone else has any requirements, you can let Li Nan know in advance."
"Alright."
"Okay, that's all for today's meeting. Dismissed."
After everyone left, only Li Nan and Chen Fan remained in the meeting room.
Chen Fan looked at Li Nan and said, "Regarding the offline store I mentioned earlier, let's talk about it privately now."
"Go ahead, Mr. Chen, I'm listening."
"A few days ago, I bought a commercial property in my home county to open a clothing store for my parents. I was thinking we could use it as our company's first offline store. So, what you need to do now is hire a design firm in the company's name to design a unified decoration style."
"So this store will be our brand-authorized store?"
"Yes. We will operate this store under a brand-authorized model first, and later decide whether to go with direct-sale or franchise licensing based on how this store performs."
"Understood, Mr. Chen. I'll look into it right away."
"Mm."
