251: Chapter 251 Someone Saw It

As he walked into the classroom, the students in the class saw it was Chen Fan, and looks of surprise flashed in their eyes.

He hadn't come to class for so long, and since the teachers didn't take attendance during class, many people thought he had already dropped out.

Chen Fan scanned the classroom, saw an empty seat next to Wang Lei, walked over, pulled out the chair, and sat down.

Wang Lei was looking down at his phone. Feeling someone sit down beside him, he looked up, his eyes instantly widening. He stared blankly for two seconds before blurting out, "Holy shit, you actually came to class!"

Chen Fan placed his bag on the desk and glanced at him. "What kind of reaction is that? I'm a student; what else would I do if not come to class?"

"You haven't been to class for so long, I thought you went missing." Wang Lei leaned in, lowering his voice, unable to suppress his curiosity as he continued to press him, "Where on earth have you been all this time?"

Chen Fan leaned back in his chair and said casually, "I'm starting a business."

"Starting a business?" Wang Lei's voice rose a notch, but his expression quickly turned skeptical.

Although he knew Chen Fan's family was well-off—something he could tell from Chen Fan's clothing and the phone he used—subconsciously, he didn't really believe Chen Fan was off starting a business.

First of all, starting a business required capital. As a student, where would Chen Fan get the capital, unless he was relying on his family's support?

But Wang Lei didn't believe Chen Fan's family would let him, a top student who scored over 700 on the college entrance exam, skip school to start a business.

Furthermore, college students usually started businesses in the campus entrepreneurship park, but he had never heard of Chen Fan making any moves toward starting a business.

He just felt that Chen Fan didn't want to tell him the truth.

Seeing his disbelief, Chen Fan smiled and said nothing.

He wouldn't be able to hide his entrepreneurial venture for long; as the company grew larger, the chances of him appearing in the public eye would only increase.

By then, he reckoned everyone would know what he had been doing.

If they didn't believe it now, they naturally would when the time came.

Soon, it was time for class.

English Teacher Sun Wanru walked into the classroom carrying books.

She was wearing a pale white dress today, with a thin belt tied around her waist, accentuating her figure perfectly.

Her long hair draped over her shoulders, and she wore a pair of small pearl earrings. As she walked, the hem of her dress swayed gently, and she exuded the gentle, refined temperament that only a mature woman possesses.

Chen Fan turned his head to look. His gaze swept across the classroom, and he discovered Zhang Yuhang sitting in the front row, staring at English Teacher Sun Wanru on the podium with a look of infatuation.

He couldn't help but chuckle. This guy—from the first semester until now, nearly a year later—was still so obsessed with the English teacher.

It was understandable, though. Although English Teacher Sun Wanru wasn't exceptionally stunning, she could certainly be considered a beauty.

Moreover, the mature feminine temperament she possessed was absolutely lethal to young guys in their early twenties like Zhang Yuhang.

English Teacher Sun Wanru opened the attendance register and began calling names.

Name after name was called out, followed by "Here" each time. The classroom was quiet, with only the sound of attendance-taking and the occasional rustle of pages turning.

Halfway through, her gaze stopped on a name in the register. She paused for a moment, looked up, scanned the classroom, and finally landed on the seat by the window in the back row.

"Chen Fan."

"Here." Chen Fan replied. His voice wasn't loud, but the classroom was quiet, so everyone could hear it.

A flash of surprise crossed English Teacher Sun Wanru's eyes, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. Her tone carried a hint of teasing and surprise: "I am so honored today; I didn't expect to actually see Student Chen Fan in class."

As soon as she finished speaking, a burst of laughter instantly erupted in the class.

Chen Fan leaned back in his chair, the corners of his mouth curling slightly, and didn't respond.

After saying that, English Teacher Sun Wanru couldn't help but laugh, too. She waited about ten seconds to calm down before continuing to call the other names.

The classroom gradually quieted down, and the sounds of calling names and responding "Here" rose and fell, returning to a normal rhythm.

...

At noon, after finishing two major classes, Chen Fan left the classroom and headed toward the school gate.

He had another class in the afternoon, but he didn't plan to attend it.

Coming for two classes today was just a token gesture.

Outside the school gate, his car was parked on the side of the road.

There happened to be an empty spot at the school gate when he arrived this time, so he had parked it right there; he would be able to see it as soon as he walked out.

Chen Fan took out his car keys and pressed a button; the car lights flashed twice, and then he walked toward the car door.

Just then, a few girls walked out of the school gate together, chatting and laughing, looking like they were heading out for lunch.

One of the girls with a ponytail glanced casually at the roadside when she suddenly stopped and pointed at the white Range Rover: "Hey, look, is that Chen Fan from our class?"

Another girl with short hair stood on her tiptoes to get a look and, through the half-open car window, saw Chen Fan's profile. She nodded: "It looks like him. Why is he getting into that car?"

She paused, tilted her head to look at the car again, and her eyes held a hint of curiosity: "What kind of car is that? It looks so imposing."

The other girls nearby also looked over, and someone whispered, "So big."

Zhao Zitong was among them. Her gaze lingered on the white Range Rover for two seconds, and after recognizing the emblem on the front, she spoke up: "That's a Land Rover Range Rover."

The first girl with a ponytail turned to look at her, looking bewildered: "Land Rover Range Rover? What kind of car is that? Why haven't I heard of it?"

"Yeah," the short-haired girl agreed, tilting her head to look at the car again, "This car doesn't even look as good as an Audi. Look at that front end, it's so boxy and not rounded at all. Audis look so much better, with such beautiful streamlined designs."

Zhao Zitong glanced at her, a flash of disdain in her eyes. The corners of her mouth moved slightly before she spoke unhurriedly: "An Audi? This car could buy over a dozen regular Audis."

The girl with the ponytail froze, her mouth slightly agape. She withdrew her gaze from the white Range Rover and looked at Zhao Zitong again, as if confirming whether she was joking.

The short-haired girl was also stunned, her eyes filled with disbelief: "That's impossible, right? An Audi costs at least two hundred thousand."

"Land Rover Range Rover, a luxury SUV. One of them is worth at least over two million. You can look it up and see," Zhao Zitong continued.

The short-haired girl's eyes widened instantly: "It's that expensive?"

She turned back to look at the white Range Rover again, her gaze lingering on the front end and the emblem for an extra two seconds, as if re-evaluating the vehicle.

Over two million—this number spun around in her head several times, unable to stop.

For a freshman girl, a few thousand yuan was already a lot of money. Her monthly living expenses were only a little over one thousand, and she had to scrimp and save to scrape together a few hundred.

When she heard "over two million," the image of money vanished from her mind; it wasn't a number that could be reached by saving money, it was a concept—a concept that had absolutely no intersection with their lives.

The girl with the ponytail also leaned in and asked in a low voice: "How can Chen Fan drive such an expensive car? Could he be a second-generation rich kid?"

"Probably," Zhao Zitong said, not saying anything more.
