275: Chapter 275 Shen Na's Affection
Shens Mother looked at Chen Fan again: "Little Chen, since you and Na Na are from the same unit, you must see each other often, right?"
"Yeah, we occasionally run into each other at school."
"That's good. Young people should spend more time together." Shens Mother said, her gaze sweeping over Counselor Shen Na intentionally or otherwise, "Unlike her, who only knows how to busy herself with work all day and never brings a friend home."
Counselor Shen Na finally couldn't hold back: "Mom, can you just rest for a while and say less?"
"Alright, alright, I'll rest for a bit. You have a good chat with Little Chen." Shens Mother said, waving a hand at Counselor Shen Na, smiling at Chen Fan, before leaning back against the pillow and closing her eyes.
Counselor Shen Na quickly led Chen Fan out of the Hospital room.
Chen Fan looked at her: "Why were you in such a rush to get out?"
"I was afraid if we stayed in there any longer, you'd become my mom's son-in-law." Counselor Shen Na glanced at him.
"That wouldn't be so bad."
"What are you thinking?" Counselor Shen Na glared at him, but couldn't keep a straight face, "She asks everyone that. Don't take it seriously."
"I know, I'm just joking too. But Sister Na, you're all grown up now, haven't you brought a boyfriend for your mom to see yet?"
"How am I grown up? I'm only 26, alright?" Counselor Shen Na rolled her eyes at him, sounding a bit unconvinced.
Just as they were talking, a nurse pushed the door open, holding a thermometer and a logbook: "Bed 2, time to take your temperature."
Shens Mother quickly sat up, cooperating with the temperature check, while Shens father stood up to take the thermometer and check it.
Seeing this, Counselor Shen Na also walked in to watch.
She stood to the side, watching the nurse finish taking the temperature and ask a few questions before pushing the door open and leaving.
Counselor Shen Na checked the time: "Dad, Mom, you must be hungry. I'll go buy something to eat."
"No need for the trouble, the Hospital cafeteria will have food soon." Shens Mother said.
"How can the cafeteria food be better than what's outside?" Counselor Shen Na said, looking at Chen Fan, "Come with me, help me carry it."
Chen Fan nodded and followed Counselor Shen Na out of the ward.
The two found a small restaurant near the Hospital and packed two meals to bring back to the ward.
Shens Mother took two bites, then looked up at Counselor Shen Na: "Alright, you two go back. I'm fine now, and you have work tomorrow, don't waste your time here."
Counselor Shen Na wanted to say something, but Shens Mother waved her hand, "Listen to me, go back and rest. Your dad is enough here."
Counselor Shen Na hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "Then I'll come back tomorrow after I get off work."
"No need to come every day, just come on the weekend." Shens Mother said, "Little Chen, thank you for your hard work today."
"You're too polite, Auntie. Please get some rest."
The two left the ward, walked into the elevator, and Counselor Shen Na pressed the button for the first floor before walking in.
The elevator reached the first floor, the doors opened, and she walked out with Chen Fan following beside her.
Counselor Shen Na stood on the steps and glanced at him: "Thank you so much for today, not only for driving me to the Hospital but also for staying with me for so long."
"What are you thanking me for? I've troubled you several times already; driving you to the Hospital is nothing."
Counselor Shen Na smiled without responding.
She walked two steps, then suddenly stopped: "By the way, you haven't eaten yet, right? Let me treat you to a meal as a thank you."
"No need, you should go back and rest. You've been tired all day today."
"No." Counselor Shen Na looked at him, her tone carrying a hint of refusal that couldn't be denied, "Last time you treated me, so this time you aren't allowed to refuse when I treat you."
Chen Fan looked at her and didn't decline again: "Alright, I'll listen to you then."
Counselor Shen Na nodded in satisfaction and turned to walk towards the exit of the Hospital.
The two found a small restaurant nearby, sat down, and ordered a few dishes. Halfway through the meal, Counselor Shen Na glanced at the menu: "Do you want some alcohol?"
"I drove here, so I can't drink."
Counselor Shen Na closed the menu with regret: "Alright then, never mind."
After the meal, Chen Fan drove Counselor Shen Na home.
When the car stopped downstairs at her home, Counselor Shen Na's movements were slower than usual as she unbuckled her seatbelt, as if she were hesitating about something.
She turned her head to look at him, paused for a moment, and then said: "I still have some beer upstairs at my place. Do you want to come up for a drink?"
Chen Fan didn't refuse and followed her upstairs; he quite liked the atmosphere of drinking with Counselor Shen Na.
Counselor Shen Na opened the door, changed her shoes, took a few cans of beer from the fridge, and placed them on the coffee table.
The two each opened a can, sat on the sofa, and chatted idly.
Outside the window, the night was deep. Inside the room, only the floor lamp beside the sofa was on, casting dim light that made their silhouettes soft and blurred.
Counselor Shen Na sat beside him, the scent of her perfume drifting over faintly, soft and reminiscent of some kind of flower.
Chen Fan turned his head to look at her, his gaze lingering on her face for a moment.
Counselor Shen Na was holding the beer can, not drinking it, but not putting it down either.
She felt his gaze, turned her head, and their eyes met; both of them had a hint of heat in their eyes.
Chen Fan didn't look away, leaned closer to her, and kissed her.
Counselor Shen Na struggled symbolically for a moment before wrapping her arms around Chen Fan's neck to respond.
She didn't know why she hadn't pushed him away, just as she didn't know why she had invited him up when they were downstairs earlier.
Perhaps it was the effect of the alcohol, or maybe it was Sister Li's words at noon.
What surprised Chen Fan was that although Counselor Shen Na was already twenty-six, she acted like a girl who had never dated before, with a kind of raw, unpracticed clumsiness.
After the kiss, Counselor Shen Na gently pushed him away, her face flushing with shyness as she adjusted her clothes that had been disheveled by Chen Fan.
Chen Fan was about to take the next step, but Counselor Shen Na stopped him: "Let... let's just stop here."
"Huh? Sister Na, you've stirred up my desire, and now you're backing out?" Chen Fan pointed at himself.
Counselor Shen Na followed his gaze, looked for a second, then quickly shifted her eyes away, giving him a charming roll of the eyes: "Serves you right."
"Then can we at least kiss one more time?"
Counselor Shen Na didn't refuse this time. She wanted to experience that kissing sensation again.
Having never dated for over twenty years, she was a blank slate when it came to intimate contact, but that kiss earlier made her feel—it was actually not bad.
Chen Fan didn't ask again, stepped forward, and kissed her.
After the kiss, Counselor Shen Na pushed Chen Fan away again and said: "Alright, hurry back now."
Chen Fan looked at her, didn't say anything more, and turned to walk towards the door.
After leaving Counselor Shen Na's home, Chen Fan walked towards where he had parked his car.
As he walked, he couldn't help but scratch his head.
He hadn't expected that a trip to school today would result in something like this happening with his beautiful instructor.
It would be fine with anyone else, but the key issue was that Counselor Shen Na was his instructor.
Forget it, it's already happened, so just let nature take its course.
