69: Chapter 69 Interview

Half an hour later, Qiao Linlin walked in with a man around thirty years old.

He was wearing a black suit, his hair was meticulously combed, and he wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.

The moment he saw Chen Fan, a flash of disdain crossed his eyes before he returned to normal.

"Hello, I'm here to interview for the Human Resources Manager position."

"Take a seat."

After the man sat down, Chen Fan glanced at him and then said, "Please introduce yourself briefly."

Upon hearing this, the man didn't answer immediately. Instead, he calmly sized Chen Fan up before asking, "Before I begin, I'd like to know, what is your actual age, President Chen?"

Chen Fan glanced at him, unsure of what he was up to.

"Nineteen." Chen Fan's birthday was October 1st, and he was three months shy of turning nineteen, but there was no need to explain in such detail.

The man nodded, leaned back in his chair, adjusted his posture slightly, and his tone relaxed a bit more than before. "Alright, President Chen. Then let me introduce myself first..."

Soon, the man finished his introduction: Liu Zhiyuan, 35 years old, with a bachelor's degree. At his first company, he was promoted from assistant to specialist after just one year, and after switching jobs later, he worked his way up to Human Resources Supervisor.

The last company he worked for was in the gaming industry, with a scale of nearly one hundred people, and he had reached the position of Human Resources Manager there as well.

Overall, it wasn't stunning, but it was acceptable for a Human Resources Manager.

Following that, Chen Fan asked a few questions about human resources, and the other party answered them in an organized and logical manner.

Chen Fan: "Alright, I understand the basics. Is there anything you'd like to know?"

"I'd like to ask, is the salary package the same as what was advertised?"

"Yes, a monthly salary of 6,000, two days off per week, plus the five social insurances and one housing fund. Any other questions?"

After hearing Chen Fan describe the benefits, a flash of joy appeared in Liu Zhiyuan's eyes, but it quickly vanished.

"President Chen, the salary at my previous job was 8,000. I know this is a startup, so the salary can be a bit lower, but it should at least reach 7,500 per month."

"7,500?"

Chen Fan repeated the number with a look of confusion.

Liu Zhiyuan nodded, his expression composed. "Yes, 7,500. After all, I have nearly ten years of human resources experience, and my previous company also had nearly one hundred employees—"

Hearing Liu Zhiyuan's words, Chen Fan almost laughed in anger.

8,000 a month? If his original salary was actually higher than 6,000, Chen Fan would write his own name backward.

If it were really 8,000, he wouldn't have applied for this 6,000-position.

It was nothing more than him seeing that Chen Fan was young and wanting to try and swindle him, hoping to squeeze out a little more.

In Chang'an, a city that wasn't particularly developed, the 6,000 yuan monthly salary he set was already higher than the standard for this position.

If he actually offered him 8,000 yuan, he would truly have been kicked in the head by a donkey.

He glanced at Liu Zhiyuan with no expression on his face.

"Mr. Liu, your resume is excellent. But—"

He paused and continued, "Our company is a small temple; it cannot accommodate a big Buddha like you."

There was a silence of a few seconds.

Liu Zhiyuan pushed his chair away with a "bang," stood up, and walked out without looking back.

He even slammed the door hard on his way out.

Chen Fan then raised his head, glanced at the door frame still vibrating slightly, and shook his head lightly.

He wasn't angry, just found it a bit funny.

A thirty-year-old man, failing an interview and storming out while slamming the door.

With that kind of emotional management ability, hiring him would really just be asking for trouble.

At this moment, Qiao Linlin pushed the door open and entered. "President Chen, should I call the next person in?"

"Let them in."

This time, a woman around 30 years old entered.

"Take a seat."

"Hello, President Chen." The woman behaved very appropriately.

"Please introduce yourself."

"Alright, President Chen, my name is..."

A dozen minutes later, the woman left the office.

Chen Fan didn't take a liking to this woman.

The resume looked quite impressive—one year of human resources experience in the gaming industry.

However, when Chen Fan casually asked, "What kind of capabilities are needed for games?", she stammered for a long time, only spouting generic phrases like "need to understand management" and "need to coordinate teams," without a single practical point.

The resume was clearly padded.

By the time the remaining three were interviewed, another hour had passed.

In the end, Chen Fan chose the third interviewee, a 35-year-old woman named Zhou Min.

Her work experience was solid, her answers were logical, and the conversation basically met his expectations.

However, Chen Fan didn't confirm on the spot because there were two more people after her.

Unfortunately, neither of these two people met Chen Fan's expectations.

After the interviews were finished, he checked the time; it was already past five o'clock.

He went to Qiao Linlin.

"The Human Resources Manager position has been decided; it's Zhou Min. Notify her later to come to the company to report tomorrow."

"Alright, President Chen."

"Call and notify the ones who didn't pass as well, including the one who interviewed for the administrative position before you this morning."

"Alright."

A dozen minutes later, Qiao Linlin pushed the office door open and walked in.

"President Chen, everyone has been notified. Manager Zhou said she will arrive at the company on time tomorrow."

"Alright, there's nothing else to do today. Let's get off work early; I'm getting ready to leave too."

"Alright, President Chen, I'll leave with you."

Chen Fan stood up, picked up his coat, and walked out. Qiao Linlin followed behind him and casually turned off the office lights.

The two walked out of the company entrance, one after the other.

Qiao Linlin picked up the keys and locked the entrance door.

"When you come tomorrow, change this door opening method to a swipe card access system; it'll be more convenient."

"Alright."

After entering the elevator, neither of them spoke for a moment.

The elevator slowly descended, and the numbers ticked down one by one. In the narrow space, there was only the faint humming sound of the elevator running.

Just then, an abrupt "rumble" sounded in the small elevator.

Chen Fan was stunned for a moment and looked at Qiao Linlin beside him.

"You didn't eat lunch?"

Qiao Linlin felt a bit embarrassed. "I was too busy shopping at noon and forgot to eat."

Hearing this, Chen Fan unconsciously touched the tip of his nose; it actually had something to do with him.

"Are you in a rush to go back tonight?"

Upon hearing Chen Fan's words, Qiao Linlin glanced at Chen Fan in surprise. What did he mean by that? Did the boss have ideas about her?

She subconsciously pursed her lips and secretly glanced at Chen Fan's angular face.

If it were the boss... it wouldn't be impossible.

Chen Fan instantly understood her expression, and the corner of his mouth twitched:

"Don't misunderstand. I mean, if you're not in a rush, I'll treat you to a meal. After all, since purchasing for the company affected your lunch, I, as the boss, feel bad about it."

Upon hearing Chen Fan's words, a flash of slyness appeared on Qiao Linlin's face. "Sure, boss. I live alone, I have nothing to do tonight, and I'm not in a rush."

"Alright, then it's settled."

After leaving the building, Chen Fan took Qiao Linlin to the place where he parked his car.
