262: Chapter 262 brings up the interview again.
On Monday morning, just as Chen Fan arrived at the office, the telephone rang.
He picked up his phone and took a look—it was Dean Zhou. Chen Fan was a bit puzzled; didn't he just come over with the district leaders last week? Why was he calling again? With this confusion, he answered the call.
"Hello, Dean Zhou."
"Chen Fan, you're free right now, aren't you?"
"Yes, I am. Please, go ahead."
"If you're free, come to the school. I'm in my office."
"Alright, Dean Zhou."
Although he was puzzled as to why Dean Zhou had called him to the school, Chen Fan didn't hesitate and agreed immediately.
As for what it was about, he would know once he got there.
After hanging up, Chen Fan grabbed his car keys and left the office.
After arriving at the school, he parked his car and walked onto campus, only to suddenly realize that he didn't seem to know where the Dean's office was.
He thought for a moment and stopped a passing student to ask for directions.
The student shook his head, said "I don't know," and hurried away.
Chen Fan stopped another person, but after giving him a look, they also said, "I'm not really sure."
Chen Fan felt helpless and had no choice but to take out his phone, find Counselor Shen Na's number, and dial it.
The phone rang twice before being answered: "Chen Fan? What made you think to call me?"
"Sister Na, do you know where the Dean's office is?"
"The Dean's office?" Counselor Shen Na's tone held a hint of curiosity, "What are you looking for the Dean for?"
"Dean Zhou asked me to come; he said he has something to discuss with me."
"Then stay right where you are, and I'll take you there."
"Alright, thank you, Sister Na."
Five minutes later, Counselor Shen Na walked toward Chen Fan.
Unlike usual, Counselor Shen Na was wearing a long white dress today that reached the middle of her calves, with a thin belt tied around her waist that outlined her figure just right.
Her hair was also let down, not tied up like usual, falling in natural waves over her shoulders with a few strands hanging by her face, swaying gently with her steps, making her look much softer.
Coupled with the fact that Counselor Shen Na was already very pretty, this outfit drew the gazes of several male students as she walked across campus, and some even turned back to look after passing her.
Chen Fan couldn't help but show a hint of appreciation in his eyes, unable to resist staring at Counselor Shen Na for a few extra moments.
Usually, when he saw Counselor Shen Na in the office, she was dressed quite plainly.
Today, in this white dress, she had a different aura, making Chen Fan unable to resist looking at her a few more times.
"What are you looking at? Don't recognize me?" Counselor Shen Na walked up to him and said with a huff.
"No, I just think you look especially beautiful today, Sister Na."
Counselor Shen Na was stunned for a moment, then smiled, a hint of a grin appearing on her face, but she still said, "Smooth talker, you should save those words for your girlfriend."
"I'm telling the truth, Sister Na, why don't you believe me?"
"Alright, enough nonsense. Didn't you want to find the Dean? Why aren't you moving yet?"
"Oh, right." Chen Fan patted his head, "I was too busy looking at a beautiful woman and forgot that the Dean called me. Let's go."
Counselor Shen Na was momentarily choked by his words. She didn't say anything and turned to walk in front, but a deep smile secretly appeared on her face.
Counselor Shen Na was Chen Fan's instructor, but she was also a young woman.
Being called a beauty and praised for being pretty by a handsome student made her very happy inside.
Chen Fan followed Counselor Shen Na forward until they arrived in front of a five-story building.
After going up to the second floor, Counselor Shen Na stopped in front of a door with a dark wooden sign hanging on the frame that read "Dean's Office."
She turned to look at Chen Fan and tilted her chin toward the door: "We're here, go on in."
Chen Fan walked over and knocked on the door twice.
Zhou Mingyuan's voice came from inside: "Come in."
After Chen Fan walked in, Zhou Mingyuan was leaning back in his chair with a cup of tea in his hand.
Seeing Chen Fan enter, he set down the teacup and gestured for him to sit: "You're here? Sit."
Chen Fan sat down opposite him and waited for him to speak.
Zhou Mingyuan leaned back against his chair, looked at Chen Fan for a moment, and then said: "I asked you here today because there is something I want to discuss with you."
Chen Fan nodded without saying anything, waiting for him to continue.
"The school wants to do a campus interview feature, interviewing some of the students who are currently starting businesses."
Zhou Mingyuan picked up his teacup and took a sip. When he set the cup down, his tone was more casual than before: "You are the most successful student entrepreneur at our school in recent years, so you were the first person I thought of."
Just as Chen Fan was about to say something, Zhou Mingyuan immediately interrupted him: "Don't think about refusing. I asked you last semester, and you already refused once."
Chen Fan swallowed the words that were about to come out.
He did remember that the school had a similar invitation last semester, which he had casually declined on the grounds that "the company is just starting out, there's nothing much to talk about."
Now, it seemed he couldn't refuse this time.
"Isn't it a bit too early? I'm only a freshman." Chen Fan leaned back in his chair.
"It's not too early." Zhou Mingyuan set down his teacup, his tone carrying the certainty of someone with experience: "Your company is developing better and better, even the principal has been paying attention for a while. This interview was also suggested by the principal."
Chen Fan didn't speak, waiting for him to continue.
Zhou Mingyuan looked at him, his tone becoming a bit more serious: "And do you know what it means once the school conducts this interview?"
What it meant, Chen Fan really didn't know. He looked at Zhou Mingyuan with some confusion, waiting for him to go on.
"It means your company is a showcase for the school."
Zhou Mingyuan's voice wasn't loud, but every word was very clear: "The school is willing to put you in the spotlight, which shows that the school recognizes your value. In the future, when the school does external publicity, recruitment, or hosts guests, your company will be an example that can be mentioned. For you, this isn't just exposure; it's an endorsement."
Chen Fan didn't speak, running Zhou Mingyuan's words through his mind.
A moment later, he looked up at Zhou Mingyuan: "Dean Zhou, I agree. When?"
A look of satisfaction appeared on Zhou Mingyuan's face, and he took a sip of his tea: "See which day is convenient for you. Once the time is confirmed, I will contact the person in charge of school media."
Chen Fan thought for a moment: "Let's make it this Wednesday."
Zhou Mingyuan nodded: "Then it's settled. Someone from the school newspaper will contact you then, just cooperate with them."
After Chen Fan left the Dean's office, he found that Counselor Shen Na was still standing in the hallway.
She was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.
Chen Fan was a bit surprised: "Sister Na, you haven't left yet?"
Counselor Shen Na lowered her hands, her tone carrying a hint of concern: "What did the Dean want with you? Was it about you not coming to class?"
A flash of mischief crossed Chen Fan's eyes, and he sighed, his tone feigning helplessness: "Yeah, the Dean said I've had too many absences this semester and is going to make the substitute teacher fail me and make me take a make-up exam."
Counselor Shen Na's expression changed instantly, her brows furrowing, and her tone carried a hint of urgency: "Really? I'll go talk to the Dean."
As she said this, she was about to push the door open and go in.
Chen Fan quickly stopped her, blocking the door with his hand, his tone filled with a hint of amusement: "Sister Na, I'm just joking with you."
