294: Chapter 294 Stay overnight tonight, I'll take you back tomorrow.

Chen Fan walked beside her, followed her gaze to look around, and said, "Let's ride the Ferris wheel first. We can see the whole park from up there, and once we're done, we can decide what to play next."

Su Mian nodded. "Okay."

The two of them walked toward the Ferris wheel.

This Ferris wheel was the amusement park's landmark attraction. Its white support beams stood out sharply against the blue sky, and its cabins turned slowly, with a few groups of tourists already on board.

The line wasn't long, and it was their turn after waiting for seven or eight minutes.

The staff member pulled open the cabin door. Chen Fan stepped in first, then reached out to support Su Mian's arm.

The cabin swayed slightly. Su Mian only steadied herself by gripping his hand. Once both of them were seated, the door closed, and the cabin began its slow ascent.

The Ferris wheel began to rotate slowly.

At first, the speed was very slow, and Su Mian could easily enjoy the scenery outside the window. But gradually, the cabin's ascent seemed to quicken, and the buildings and crowds on the ground quickly shrank.

As the Ferris wheel slowly rose, Su Mian leaned against the window to watch the scenery for a while. Then she suddenly turned around, her expression changing slightly as her hands gently gripped the edge of the seat.

"Sister Su Mian?" Chen Fan noticed her unusual behavior and leaned forward slightly. "What's wrong?"

Su Mian pursed her lips, her voice softening a bit. "It's nothing... it's just a bit too high."

As she spoke, her eyes darted away, and her fingers unconsciously rubbed against the edge of the seat, looking somewhat nervous.

Looking at her, Chen Fan didn't ask further. He simply leaned a bit closer to her. "If you're scared, turn around and don't look outside. Look at me instead."

Su Mian obediently turned her head, her gaze landing on him. Just then, the cabin swayed slightly. As if startled, she instinctively reached out and grabbed Chen Fan's arm.

Chen Fan was taken aback for a moment, then without a word, he reached out and pulled her into his embrace.

This time, Su Mian didn't show the slightest sign of resistance. She naturally leaned into his chest, resting her forehead against his shoulder.

But soon, her breathing steadied, and she grew more and more relaxed. Instead of rushing to pull away from his embrace, she quietly adjusted her posture, finding a more comfortable angle to lean against him.

Chen Fan looked down at her, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly.

He suddenly felt something was off—she was perfectly fine when they were on the ground and didn't seem afraid of anything, so why was she acting like this the moment they got up here?

Besides, her movement of leaning in was a bit too smooth and natural.

However, he didn't say anything. He just gently patted her back with his hand. "Feeling better?"

Su Mian gave a soft, muffled "Mhm" in his arms, her voice betraying nothing unusual.

The cabin continued to rise, and after passing the highest point, it began its slow descent.

Su Mian remained snuggled in Chen Fan's arms, showing no intention of sitting up. Instead, she naturally rested her chin on his shoulder, tilting her head to look out the window.

Her eyes were bright, carrying an unmistakable sparkle as she watched the amusement park scenery draw closer below with great interest.

"Sister Su Mian," Chen Fan called out to her.

"Hmm?"

"Are you actually not afraid of heights?"

Su Mian paused for a moment, blinked, and said, "I am afraid of heights." As she spoke, she even shrank back into Chen Fan's arms, pretending to be scared.

Chen Fan looked down at her. There wasn't a single trace of fear on her face.

But this was fine too. Since Su Mian wasn't actually afraid, Chen Fan could take this opportunity to do something.

He didn't rush to act, simply watching her playfully point out the window with a teasing smile playing on his lips.

When the cabin reached the highest point and the entire amusement park spread out beneath them, Chen Fan suddenly reached out, cupped Su Mian's chin, and gently turned her face toward him.

"What is it?" Su Mian blinked, not yet realizing what was happening.

Chen Fan didn't answer. He leaned down and kissed her directly.

Su Mian's eyes widened in surprise, but after a momentary stiffness, she slowly closed her eyelids.

It was only when the cabin swayed slightly after an unknown amount of time that they finally parted.

Su Mian kept her head down, her breathing somewhat erratic. Her lips were rosy and glistening with a thin sheen of moisture, visibly a bit swollen compared to before.

The Ferris wheel finally touched down, and Chen Fan led Su Mian out of the cabin.

After leaving the Ferris wheel, Chen Fan took Su Mian to try out other rides.

They played until six in the evening. As the sun began to sink in the west, Chen Fan took Su Mian to the commercial street outside the amusement park and found a nice-looking restaurant to have dinner.

By the time they finished eating and walked out of the restaurant, it was already past eight in the evening. The sky had turned completely dark, and the neon lights on both sides of the street were lit up in a vibrant display.

Standing at the restaurant entrance, Chen Fan checked the time on his phone, then turned his head to look at Su Mian beside him.

She was looking down, rummaging through her bag for a tissue to wipe her hands, her profile looking soft under the streetlights.

Chen Fan fell silent for two seconds before speaking. "Sister Su Mian, it's already quite late, and it's too far to go back to Aunt Su's place. How about you don't go back tonight?"

Su Mian didn't say anything, remaining silent. Keeping her head down, her fingers rubbed back and forth against her bag strap, as if she were hesitating over something.

Seeing her like this, Chen Fan rephrased his suggestion. "You can stay at my place tonight, and I'll take you back first thing tomorrow morning."

Hearing this, Su Mian finally nodded gently, her voice very quiet. "Okay."

Seeing Su Mian nod, a flash of joy crossed Chen Fan's eyes, but he didn't let it show too clearly on his face. He simply turned and walked toward the parking spot. "Let's go, the car is over there."

The two of them barely spoke along the way. Su Mian leaned against the passenger seat, looking out the window at the streetlights and night scenery flashing past, lost in thought.

Chen Fan occasionally glanced at her but didn't say much, simply driving a bit more steadily than usual.

Twenty minutes later, the car drove into a residential community. Chen Fan parked the car and took Su Mian up in the elevator.

After opening the door, he pointed to the room at the end of the hallway. "The guest bedroom is over here. The sheets were just changed last week, there are clean towels in the closet, and there's a spare toothbrush on the sink."

Su Mian stood at the door and looked around. The apartment was large, but it lacked a sense of life. She nodded. "Okay, I got it."

Chen Fan didn't disturb her further and turned to head back to the master bedroom.

Su Mian closed the door and stood leaning against it for a moment, her heart beating a little fast.

She took a deep breath, placed her bag on the nightstand, went to the bathroom for a quick wash, changed into her pajamas, and lay down on the bed.

But she couldn't sleep.

The room was very quiet with good soundproofing; she couldn't hear any noise from outside.

She stared at the ceiling for a while, tossed and turned, her mind in a jumble, unable to calm down no matter what.
