237: Chapter 237 Can I stay at your house?
The dishes were served quickly.
The first course was an appetizer; on a white plate, several thinly sliced wagyu sashimi were fanned out, garnished in the center with a small cluster of sea urchin and caviar.
"Eat up," Chen Fan gestured.
"Mm." Naza nodded, picked up her chopsticks, lifted a slice of wagyu, and put it into her mouth. She chewed twice, and her eyes brightened slightly.
"How does it taste?" Chen Fan asked.
Naza put down her chopsticks, chewed carefully until she swallowed, then looked up and said happily, "It's quite delicious."
Chen Fan did not rush to eat; instead, he watched her eat, inexplicably finding her somewhat cute.
Although she was a bit more mature than girls her age, in the end, she was just an eighteen-year-old girl who had just come of age and had not even started college yet.
The biggest thing in her life right now was passing the art exam and waiting for the college entrance exam.
That innocence and cuteness belonging to a young girl could not be hidden, no matter how mature she tried to be.
As Naza chewed, she noticed Chen Fan had not touched his chopsticks. She looked up, met his gaze, and with food still in her mouth, she paused and asked vaguely, "Mr. Chen, why aren't you eating?"
Chen Fan picked up his chopsticks, took a bite, and then said, "By the way, Naza, don't call me Mr. Chen anymore; just call me by my name."
"How can I do that?" Naza looked up, her eyes bright, as if she had thought of something. "You're older than me, so I'll call you Brother Fan."
"Fine, suit yourself."
Naza's eyes curved into crescents. "Okay, Brother Fan."
After dinner, Chen Fan glanced at his phone; it was only a little past one in the afternoon.
The two left the restaurant and stood on the steps at the entrance. Chen Fan turned to look at Naza. "Where to now? If you want to go to the hotel, I'll drop you off, or if you want to go back to the company, I'll take you there too."
Naza thought for a moment, then looked up at Chen Fan. "I want to go sightseeing... When I came to Chang'an last time, I only went to one or two places; there were so many I didn't get to see."
Chen Fan nodded and was about to say something when Naza added, her voice carrying a hint of coquettishness, "Brother Fan, will you come with me? It's boring to wander around by myself."
"Me go with you?" Chen Fan shook his head. "I won't go; I still have to go to the company."
Naza pouted, blinked her eyes, and said with a bit of persistence, "Brother Fan, you're the boss now; what does it matter if you handle company matters a little later? Isn't the whole point of being the boss that you can arrange your own time?"
"Brother Fan—" Naza drew out the end of the sentence, her voice as soft as cotton candy. "Just come with me, please. It's really boring alone. Besides, you're a local; you must know where is fun and where is good for taking photos. If I wander around by myself, I won't even be able to find my way."
Chen Fan looked at her sparkling eyes and was silent for two seconds.
In truth, he did not really have much to do back at the company. Since Naza had taken the initiative to invite him, he naturally would not refuse.
As for Naza, a beautiful girl and future big star, Chen Fan quite liked her too.
"Fine, let's go." Chen Fan nodded.
Naza's eyes curved into crescents. She opened the car door, sat in the passenger seat, and fastened her seatbelt, unable to suppress the smile on her lips.
Naza stood on the square below the Bell Tower. She took out her phone to take a few photos and then pulled Chen Fan over to take some for her.
She struck several poses—sometimes making a peace sign, sometimes turning her head for a side profile. After taking them, she would crowd over to check the results, and if she was not satisfied, she would retake them.
After leaving the Bell Tower, they visited several other attractions.
They continued sightseeing until seven in the evening, when the sky darkened and the city lights came on.
Both of them were tired from walking, and Naza's pace had noticeably slowed. Chen Fan took her to a quiet local-style restaurant nearby. It was not a high-end place, just a small eatery with simple decor and clean food.
After sitting down this time, Naza took the initiative to grab the menu.
"Brother Fan, this meal is on me." She opened the menu, her tone serious, not like she was just being polite.
Chen Fan glanced at her. "You're treating me?"
"Yeah," Naza looked up, meeting his gaze with confidence. "I earned money from filming the commercial, so I can definitely afford to treat you to a meal. Don't fight me on this."
Chen Fan looked at her expression, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly, and he did not refuse.
"Fine, you treat."
Naza nodded with satisfaction, lowered her head to look at the menu seriously, and ordered four or five dishes.
"Anything is fine; I'm not picky."
After the meal, the two stood at the restaurant entrance. The night wind was much cooler than during the day, blowing Naza's long hair gently.
She was dressed thinly and shrank her neck slightly, but she did not say she was cold.
Chen Fan checked the time; it was almost eight o'clock.
"Let's go, I'll drop you off at the hotel." He said, walking two steps toward where the car was parked.
Naza did not respond. As if remembering something, she suddenly asked, "Brother Fan, do you live alone?"
Chen Fan paused, unsure why she suddenly asked this, but he nodded anyway. "Yes, alone."
Naza's eyes brightened. She took two steps forward, stood in front of him, looked up at him, and asked with a hint of probing in her tone, "Brother Fan, then these few days... can I stay at your place?"
Chen Fan was stunned. "Stay at my place?" He looked at her, thinking he had misheard.
"Yeah," Naza nodded and said confidently, "I want to save on hotel costs. It's several hundred a night, and the money I earned from the commercial isn't much, so every little bit helps. Brother Fan, you're the boss now, so your place shouldn't be missing one room for me, right?"
She said it with a straight face, as if she really were just saving money. But the little bit of cunning in her eyes and the irrepressible smile at the corners of her mouth betrayed her.
Chen Fan looked at her and was silent for two seconds. An eighteen-year-old girl, at eight in the evening, taking the initiative to suggest staying at a man's house.
It was impossible for her not to know what that meant.
He withdrew his gaze, turned around, and walked toward the car. After taking two steps, he said without looking back, "Get in the car."
Naza paused for a moment, then a huge smile bloomed on her face, and she trotted to catch up.
She opened the passenger door, sat in, and fastened her seatbelt, moving faster than any previous time, as if afraid Chen Fan would change his mind.
Half an hour later, the car drove into the underground parking lot of the residential complex where Chen Fan lived.
Chen Fan parked the car, took Naza's suitcase out of the trunk, and took her upstairs.
Pushing open the door, Naza stood in the entryway pulling her suitcase, looking around curiously.
Chen Fan took out a pair of new slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them by her feet.
Naza changed her shoes, walked into the living room, circled around, and said with some surprise, "Brother Fan, I thought you would live in a villa."
Chen Fan placed the car keys on the entryway cabinet and said casually, "Living alone, why would I need such a big place?"
Naza thought for a moment and nodded. "That's true. A place that's too big would just be empty and feel lonely."
Chen Fan led Naza to the door of the guest room, pushed it open, and stepped aside to let her in.
"You sleep in this room tonight," Chen Fan pointed to a door inside the room. "That's the bathroom; you can take a shower. There are new towels in the cabinet, just take them out and use them. The toiletries are also new."
Naza nodded, dragged her suitcase into the room, and said, "Okay, Brother Fan."
"Then you get settled; I'll be outside." After saying this, Chen Fan turned and went back to the living room.
