175: Chapter 175 Buying another house?

Shaking his head, Chen Fan walked up to the cable crossover machine and began working on his chest with cable flies.

After training for two consecutive hours, Chen Fan's clothes were soaked through with sweat and clung to his body, clearly outlining the contours of his pectoral and abdominal muscles.

Zhao Wenjie handed him a bottle of water. He took it, unscrewed the cap, tilted his head back, and took a large gulp; the water felt cool as it slid down his throat.

Arriving on the third floor, he followed his usual routine and started with a soak in the hot spring.

After soaking for about twenty minutes, his whole body felt warm, the soreness in his muscles soothed away by the hot water, leaving him feeling limp as if he were about to melt.

After the hot spring, he went for a SPA.

The therapist was a woman in her thirties with very professional techniques; the pressure was just right, neither too light nor too heavy, and every muscle from his back to his waist and legs was well taken care of.

Chen Fan felt very comfortable under her massage.

Halfway through the SPA, Chen Fan's phone rang, startling him awake just as he was drifting off from the comfort.

A wave of irritation immediately surged in his heart. Who was being such a buzzkill, choosing this exact moment to call?

He picked up his phone and saw an unfamiliar number flashing on the screen.

After hesitating for a moment, he pressed the answer button. What if it was an important work call or something urgent? It wouldn't do to miss it.

"Mr. Chen, hello." A slightly mature female voice came from the other end, her tone carrying professional enthusiasm and a hint of cautious flattery.

"Who is this?"

"It's Xiao Zhang. You know, from when you processed the paperwork for the rental last time." The other party quickly identified herself.

Chen Fan finally realized who it was, and the image of a woman in her thirties appeared in his mind—it was the agent who had helped him rent the apartment for Qiao Linlin last time.

Come to think of it, she looked at least over thirty, yet she still referred to herself as "Xiao Zhang" in front of him.

"What is it?"

"It's like this, Mr. Chen. The owner of the apartment you rented under your company's name heard about the situation and asked me to check if you have any interest in buying it."

"The landlord wants to sell?" Chen Fan raised an eyebrow slightly.

"To be honest with you," the female agent lowered her voice as if afraid of being overheard, "the landlord really wants to offload the property. The main issue is that the total price is quite high, and even though it's in a good location and has a large area, it's not easy to find a buyer. Hearing that you run a company, they thought you might have the means, so they asked me to check if you're interested."

After hearing this, Chen Fan didn't respond immediately. He toyed with his car keys while his mind began to race.

The apartment Qiao Linlin was currently living in had a good location, a nice environment, and the decor was quite tasteful.

Although his original intention was just for Qiao Linlin to live there, it wouldn't be a loss if he actually bought it.

Given the location and quality of Yicui Garden, property prices were bound to rise in the next few years.

Although he didn't care much for that bit of appreciation, there was no harm in having an extra property.

Besides, if Qiao Linlin stayed with him for these next few years, gifting her this apartment by then would be a generous enough arrangement.

However, he had to ask about the price first. If it was too expensive, then forget it. He was rich, yes, but there was no reason to be a sucker.

"What price is the owner asking for?"

"The average price for second-hand housing in Yicui Garden is currently around 12,000 per square meter. That apartment is 203 square meters, which comes out to around 2.4 million. However, that unit has never been lived in since handover; it's a brand-new property, and the renovation uses the developer's upgraded, mid-to-high-end package. So, the owner wants to add a bit more, asking for 2.6 million."

"Too expensive." Chen Fan replied without a second thought, "If it's 2.3 million, I'll consider it."

The other end of the line was clearly stunned for a moment, followed by the female agent's somewhat awkward laugh: "Mr. Chen, that's quite a steep cut. The owner spent 2.7 million just on the purchase and renovation; you're slashing off three or four hundred thousand directly…"

"It's fine." Chen Fan said in a relaxed tone, "Go ask the owner first. People ask for the moon, and buyers negotiate back down to earth, right? Maybe he'll agree."

"Alright… fine then. I'll communicate with the owner first and get back to you later." The female agent realized he wasn't going to budge, so she had to agree.

Hanging up, Chen Fan tossed his phone aside and laid back down on the massage table. Closing his eyes, he slowly relaxed again.

The female therapist glanced at him a few more times in the dim light; her fingers continued their skillful movements, but there was now a different look in her eyes.

Young, good figure, over 1.8 meters tall, handsome, and most importantly, rich—buying property worth over two million just like that.

She didn't doubt Chen Fan's means at all; after all, someone who could spend 100,000 yuan for a Black Diamond membership surely had that kind of strength.

To be honest, if not for her self-awareness, knowing that someone like him wouldn't be interested in her at her age and condition, she would have even wanted to initiate some kind of story with this young man.

More than half an hour after the SPA finished, Chen Fan finally emerged from Woxiang Fitness Club.

The sunlight was just right, shining on his cheeks, which were still slightly flushed from the hot spring, and he felt refreshed and invigorated.

He had just sat in his car and hadn't even started the engine when his phone rang again.

Looking at it, it was "Agent Xiao Zhang" again.

"Hello, Mr. Chen, is this a convenient time to talk?" The female agent's voice carried a hint of excitement, clearly having just spoken with the owner.

"It's convenient, go ahead."

"I had a serious talk with the owner. The lowest price he can accept for this apartment is 2.4 million. The thing is, he spent 2.7 million in total between the purchase and the renovation, so he really doesn't want to lose too much. I hope you can understand."

"2.4 million…" Chen Fan repeated thoughtfully, not immediately committing.

"Yes, 2.4 million, that is his bottom line." The female agent added cautiously, "He is actually quite anxious to sell, but the price really can't go any lower."

"Alright, I'll consider it."

"Got it, Mr. Chen. But please give me an answer as soon as possible; the owner is indeed quite anxious."

"Alright."

Chen Fan hung up the phone decisively and tossed it onto the center console.

In fact, he already felt that the price of 2.4 million was acceptable.

Given the location and quality of that apartment in Yicui Garden, it wouldn't be a loss even at market price, let alone a brand-new, fully furnished, and unoccupied unit.

But he still wanted to let it sit for a bit; there was no rush for a day or two. Perhaps the more anxious the owner got, the more the price might loosen up.

Around 3:00 PM, Chen Fan had just returned home, changed into his slippers, and was about to lean back on the sofa for a nap when his phone rang again.

He frowned and picked it up, thinking: It wouldn't be that agent again, would it? It's just one apartment, is it worth pestering him over and over again?

But when he looked down at the screen, it wasn't the agent this time—the caller ID showed: Lin Xi.

A soft smile involuntarily appeared in his eyes, and he pressed the answer button.
