181: Chapter 181 Taking an Airplane
Qiao Linlin smiled as she pulled open the passenger door and sat inside.
Chen Fan started the car, glanced at her, and couldn't help but tease, "You know, for others, the assistant drives and the boss sits in the back. With us, it's turned into the boss being the chauffeur for you."
Hearing this, Qiao Linlin's eyes curved into crescents as she unhurriedly replied, "Other bosses don't go to their assistant's house to stay overnight either."
Hearing Qiao Linlin's bold words, the corner of Chen Fan's mouth couldn't help but twitch.
"You win."
Seeing his defeated look, Qiao Linlin laughed until her eyes narrowed into slits. "Boss, don't be angry. I have the clothes you like in my suitcase."
"Cough, cough, cough..." Chen Fan gripped the steering wheel, eyes fixed forward, trying his best to maintain a serious expression. "What are you talking about? Am I that kind of person?"
"Aren't you?" Qiao Linlin leisurely pointed at his hand. "Then why is your hand placed here, Boss?"
Without him even realizing when it happened, his right hand had already left the gear shifter and was resting on Qiao Linlin's leg, which was clad in black tights.
Chen Fan spoke without changing his expression, "My hand slipped." However, he didn't withdraw his hand from Qiao Linlin's leg.
Qiao Linlin pursed her lips and smiled. She didn't say anything more, leaning quietly back in her seat and turning her head to look out the window.
The car entered the main road and headed toward the airport.
The early winter sunlight slanted in from the east, falling across Qiao Linlin's face through the car window. She squinted, lowered the sun visor, and then curled herself into the seat. Gradually, the car cabin fell silent.
Chen Fan turned his head to glance over—Qiao Linlin was already asleep in the passenger seat.
He turned the air conditioning up by one degree, then looked back and continued driving.
He himself wasn't sleepy at all.
While driving, a thought crossed his mind—should he hire a driver?
In a situation like today, if he had a driver, he wouldn't have to drive himself. From the hotel to Qiao Linlin's house and then to the airport, the driver would handle the entire trip.
However, for business trips like this, there shouldn't be too many for the time being.
After thinking about it, he decided it wouldn't be too late to consider it once the company grew larger.
Besides, if he hired a driver, he'd have to provide a car. Given his status as a company boss, the car he rode in would have to be worth at least a million, right?
Although the company had sufficient funds now, there would be plenty of places to spend money later. Spending a million on a car wasn't necessary yet.
So, he would put off hiring a driver for a while.
The car was very quiet, with only the low hum of tires on the road and the faint sound of air from the AC vents.
Qiao Linlin slept deeply in the passenger seat, her breathing even. Occasionally, she shifted slightly to find a more comfortable position.
An hour later, the car turned into the airport parking lot. As the tires rolled over a speed bump, the car body jolted slightly.
Qiao Linlin woke up.
She slowly pried her eyelids open, blinked, and turned her head to look out the window, her voice groggy. "We're here?"
"We're here."
Chen Fan turned off the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt, and pushed the door open to get the luggage.
After taking out the suitcase, the two of them walked toward the terminal building.
"Boss."
Chen Fan turned around and looked at her in confusion. "What is it?"
Holding the handle of the suitcase, Qiao Linlin rarely showed a somewhat embarrassed expression. She pursed her lips, her voice a bit softer than usual. "It's my first time taking a plane."
She paused, and as if thinking that reason wasn't sufficient enough, she added, "I don't know how to check in either, I'll have to rely on you."
The corner of Chen Fan's mouth twitched slightly, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness. "Why do I feel like I'm the assistant?"
Sometimes he really wondered if it was right or wrong to let Qiao Linlin be his assistant.
Letting her handle administrative tasks was fine, but as an assistant, she was indeed still a bit green.
However, Chen Fan was just complaining; it was actually quite nice to have such a capable assistant like Qiao Linlin.
Seeing Chen Fan's helpless expression, Qiao Linlin leaned in, hugging his arm and acting coquettishly. "Boss, just this once, okay? I won't need it next time."
Chen Fan remained unmoved, looking straight ahead with a flat expression.
Qiao Linlin bit her lip, stood on her tiptoes, and whispered something in his ear.
Chen Fan's eyes immediately lit up, and he glanced at her.
Qiao Linlin had already stepped back, her lips curved and her eyes bright, looking like she had successfully pulled one over on him.
Chen Fan took a deep breath, cleared the messy images from his mind, and cleared his throat, his tone becoming serious. "Fine, then I'll be your assistant for this once."
Hearing Chen Fan say this, Qiao Linlin's face immediately broke into a smile, and she gave Chen Fan a kiss on the cheek.
"Boss, you're the best."
Chen Fan didn't say anything and led Qiao Linlin to check in.
As the company boss, Chen Fan chose first class without hesitation.
The purpose of starting a company was to make money, and the purpose of making money was to spend it and enjoy life.
He was never the type of person to pretend to be frugal when he had money, nor could he understand those bosses who were worth tens of millions and clearly had the means for first class, yet insisted on squeezing into economy.
That's not how you save money. If you don't enjoy life when you should, what's the point of making money?
As his assistant, Qiao Linlin was flying for the first time today, and she got to enjoy the first-class treatment along with him.
After passing through security, the two followed the signs to the VIP lounge for first-class passengers.
A staff member in a dark blue skirt suit stood at the entrance. Seeing them approach, she bowed slightly and said in a soft but clear voice, "Hello, please show your boarding passes."
Chen Fan pulled the boarding passes from his pocket and handed them over, and Qiao Linlin also took out hers.
The staff member took them, checked them, handed them back with both hands, stepped aside to push open the glass door, and made a gesture of invitation. "Please, come inside."
After entering the lounge, a flash of surprise crossed Qiao Linlin's eyes, but she quickly suppressed it.
The lounge was much larger than she had imagined. The floor was covered with a dark gray carpet.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was the tarmac. The hall didn't have rows of metal chairs; instead, it featured individual sofas.
In the corner was a row of bookshelves, and next to it was a buffet counter. The marble countertop was polished to a shine, displaying several delicate snacks, sliced fruit, and a few bottles of drinks standing in an ice bucket.
To Qiao Linlin, all of this felt like 'Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden.' She hadn't traveled far since childhood and had rarely even taken a train, let alone a plane.
But she controlled her expression well, not looking around or making a fuss. She simply followed quietly behind Chen Fan, looking straight ahead, showing no sign of being someone who had never seen the world.
