182: Chapter 182 Arrival in Hangzhou
Actually, Chen Fan felt the same way.
In his past life, he had gone on several business trips and flown a few times, but he had always flown economy.
The waiting areas for economy class were just in the main hall, with rows upon rows of metal chairs.
He had only ever caught glimpses of the first-class lounge while passing by; he had never actually stepped inside before.
Standing now in a place he once only dared to look at from afar, it would be a lie to say he didn't feel some level of emotion. However, his face remained expressionless, appearing even more composed than Qiao Linlin.
Just then, a pretty female staff member in uniform approached, carrying a tray with two glasses of orange juice.
She bowed slightly and placed the glasses on the coffee table in front of them. Her movements were gentle, and the glasses made almost no sound as they touched the table.
"Sir, Madam, please enjoy. There are fruits and snacks at the buffet counter. Please let me know if you need anything," the staff member said with a smile before stepping back and turning to leave.
Qiao Linlin watched her walk away, then looked at the orange juice in front of her and took a sip.
She suddenly recalled her past experiences waiting at train stations—the crowds, the air thick with the smell of instant noodles and sweat, crouching on the floor when no seats could be found, and the noisy, harsh announcements over the intercom.
But now, she was sitting on a spacious leather sofa, drinking freshly squeezed orange juice, with the airport apron visible right outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
It's great to have money, she thought silently to herself.
After waiting in the lounge for about an hour, an announcement sounded, notifying them that boarding had begun.
First-class passengers had priority boarding, so there was no need to queue or squeeze through crowds. The gate agent scanned their boarding passes, smiled, and said, "Have a pleasant flight," as the two of them walked down the jet bridge toward the plane's entrance.
As they reached the plane's door, a flight attendant in uniform smiled and said, "Welcome aboard China Eastern Airlines."
As soon as he entered the first-class cabin, Chen Fan's eyes lit up.
Compared to the economy class he had flown in his past life, the first-class cabin was incredibly spacious.
The seats were wide enough to cross one's legs, and the legroom was so ample that he could fully stretch out his legs without touching anything in front of him. Every
seat was independent, separated by semi-enclosed partitions, like a small private space.
Chen Fan found his seat and sat down in the large chair.
The leather seat was soft yet supportive. Next to the armrest was a row of adjustment buttons that could change the seat's angle, raise the leg rest, or even flatten the seat completely into a bed.
He tried pressing a button; the seat slowly reclined as the leg rest rose from below, making him feel as if he were being cradled by a pair of gentle hands.
Chen Fan adjusted the seat to a semi-reclined position, leaned back, and closed his eyes for a moment.
Soon, the plane began to taxi. The roar of the engines could be heard.
Then, like a sharp sword, it shot straight into the sky.
Shortly after takeoff, a beautiful flight attendant proactively approached them.
She wore a well-tailored deep blue uniform with a light gray silk scarf tied around her neck. Her hair was pulled back perfectly, revealing her slender neck.
She came to Chen Fan's side and slowly crouched down.
Chen Fan opened his eyes, his eyelids fluttering slightly. He turned his head and saw an exquisite face close to his.
The flight attendant spoke with a smile, her voice soft but every word clear. "Excuse me, sir. The plane has reached cruising altitude, and the cabin temperature is a bit low. Would you like me to get you a blanket?"
Chen Fan glanced at the blanket in her hand and shook his head. "No, thank you."
The flight attendant didn't stand up immediately. Maintaining her crouched position, she asked another question, "Would you like something to drink then? We have orange juice, apple juice, mineral water, as well as red wine and champagne."
"Water is fine."
"Certainly, I'll bring it right away." The flight attendant stood up to leave but paused for a moment as if remembering something. She turned back and added, "If you feel cold later, please call me at any time. I'll be in the attendant's seat up front."
Qiao Linlin watched from the side seat, a strange look flashing in her eyes.
No matter how slow she might be, she could see that this flight attendant's attitude toward Chen Fan was a bit too enthusiastic.
And it felt somewhat deliberate.
There were several passengers in first class, yet this flight attendant was exceptionally warm only toward Chen Fan.
As a woman herself, she knew in her heart that this flight attendant definitely had an ulterior motive. As for what that motive was, it went without saying.
However, she didn't find it strange.
Her boss looked young and handsome, was flying first class, and his clothes were clearly expensive. It was only natural for a flight attendant to have ideas.
Chen Fan also sensed the flight attendant's enthusiasm, but he didn't react, simply saying "thank you" politely.
After seeing Chen Fan's reaction, the flight attendant felt somewhat frustrated.
She had been flying this route for three years and had seen all kinds of passengers. It wasn't that she hadn't met young, wealthy, and good-looking men like Chen Fan before, but there truly weren't many who were as completely immune to her hints as he was.
After a few more attempts, she finally gave up completely and stopped hovering around Chen Fan to ask questions.
After a few hours of flight, the plane landed smoothly at Hangzhou Airport.
Leaving the terminal, the air in Hangzhou was much more humid than in Chang'an, carrying the moisture characteristic of the Jiangnan region. Taking a deep breath made even his lungs feel moistened.
It wasn't like autumn in the north, which was bone-dry and cold, with the wind cutting like a knife against one's face.
"Boss, are we going to the hotel first?" Qiao Linlin asked.
Chen Fan checked the time on his phone; it was past 1 PM, and his stomach was starting to growl. He thought for a moment. "Let's go to the hotel first, then head out for a meal."
The two of them hailed a taxi. Qiao Linlin opened the rear door for Chen Fan to get in first, then circled around to the other side to sit inside.
Once in the car, Qiao Linlin gave the name of the hotel. It had been booked before their arrival.
The taxi drove out of the airport and headed toward the city center along the airport expressway.
Chen Fan leaned back against the seat and looked out the window.
He had never been to the city of Hangzhou in his previous life. The ancients said, "Above there is Heaven, below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou."
There were also the myths and legends of Lady White Snake and Xu Xian.
From ancient times to the present, Hangzhou has been a city soaked in poetry in the hearts of the Chinese people.
But he had never seen with his own eyes what the real Hangzhou was like.
This trip finally gave him the chance to see Hangzhou.
The car exited the expressway and entered the city.
Qiao Linlin leaned against the car window and watched for a while before suddenly turning around, her eyes sparkling. "Boss, after we finish our business, can we go visit West Lake? I've never seen it before."
"We'll see. If there's enough time, we'll go take a look."
"Boss, you're the best."
The taxi driver was a middle-aged man in his thirties. He glanced curiously at the two of them through the rearview mirror.
These two didn't look very old and seemed like a couple, yet the woman called the man "Boss," and their behavior was quite intimate.
Could they be role-playing?
He shook his head and sighed inwardly. Young people these days really know how to live it up.
