205: Chapter 205 Fang Hongsheng Joins the Company

"Fang Hongsheng previously served as a Fang Hongsheng at a listed company, where he managed operations and human resources, and he spent eight years in Shenzhen," Chen Fan added. "I invited Fang Hongsheng to join us to help take our company to the next level. He will be deeply involved in all business sectors moving forward, so please cooperate well with him."

After he finished speaking, the atmosphere in the conference room shifted subtly.

No one spoke, but the gazes of several people darted back and forth between Chen Fan and Fang Hongsheng. They were likely weighing in their minds just how much authority this new Fang Hongsheng really had.

Chen Fan noticed these thoughts but offered no further explanation.

"Fang Hongsheng, why don't you get to know everyone briefly?" Chen Fan leaned back in his chair and tilted his chin. "Let's start with Zhang Tao."

Zhang Tao, who was sitting opposite Fang Hongsheng, spoke up first: "Hello, Fang Hongsheng. I am Zhang Tao, and I am currently the team lead and lead programmer for 'defend the carrot' and 'happy elimination'."

Fang Hongsheng nodded with a smile: "Hello. Let's communicate more in the future."

Looking at the seemingly amiable Fang Hongsheng before him, Zhang Tao felt a little more at ease.

He had been somewhat anxious, wondering if the new Fang Hongsheng would be arrogant or difficult to get along with. It seemed he had overthought it.

After Zhang Tao finished his introduction, Technical Lead stood up: "Hello, Fang Hongsheng. I am Technical Lead, and I am currently the team lead and lead programmer for the web game project 'archangels sword'."

Fang Hongsheng nodded, letting his gaze linger on Technical Lead for a moment longer before smiling: "Chen Fan told me that both you and Zhang Tao are the company's technical experts."

"You are too kind, Fang Hongsheng." Technical Lead replied modestly.

"Hello, Fang Hongsheng. My name is Wang Jing, and I am the head of the Operations Department." Wang Jing adjusted her glasses. She spoke at a moderate pace but was clear and organized: "I am currently responsible for the daily operations of 'defend the carrot' and 'happy elimination'."

Fang Hongsheng nodded with a smile, pausing briefly to look at Wang Jing.

One by one, the heads of each department briefly introduced themselves and the teams they led.

After the introductions were finished, the conference room fell silent.

Chen Fan cleared his throat and said: "To put it simply, the company's goals for this year are three things. First, 'archangels sword' must be launched in the first half of the year; second, the two products already online must continue to maintain iteration, and revenue cannot drop; third—" He paused and glanced at Fang Hongsheng, "Fang Hongsheng will gradually build up the company's internal management system, and everyone's job responsibilities and promotion channels will be clarified."

His gaze swept over everyone present: "You all know about the first two things. For the third, Fang Hongsheng is the lead, and you will cooperate with him. If you have any questions, communicate with Fang Hongsheng."

No one in the conference room raised any objections.

"Alright, that's it." Chen Fan stood up. "Meeting adjourned."

The sound of chairs dragging echoed one after another as everyone stood up one by one and walked out.

Soon, only Chen Fan and Fang Hongsheng remained in the conference room.

"Senior, let's go sit in my office." Chen Fan picked up his thermos and walked toward the door.

"Alright." Fang Hongsheng followed behind him.

After arriving at the office, Chen Fan didn't go to his desk but instead led Fang Hongsheng to the sofa area to sit down.

Then he called Qiao Linlin to brew a pot of tea.

There was a tea table in the office with a set of tea ware that Chen Fan had specifically asked Qiao Linlin to purchase; the set cost nearly ten thousand yuan.

After Qiao Linlin finished brewing the tea, she brought the tea tray to the coffee table and poured a cup for each of them.

After pouring, she didn't leave but stepped back two paces, waiting nearby, ready to refill the tea at any time.

Chen Fan picked up his teacup, not in a hurry to drink, and gestured to Fang Hongsheng: "Senior, drink some tea and see how it is."

Fang Hongsheng picked up his cup, blew on the steam, and took a sip.

He set down the cup and nodded. "It's quite good."

Chen Fan smiled and took a sip himself. He set down his cup, leaned back on the sofa, and looked at Fang Hongsheng. The smile on his face faded slightly, replaced by a serious expression for discussing business.

"Senior, I gave a general overview of this year's plan at the meeting just now." He tapped his fingers lightly on his knee. "I asked you to come here alone now because I want to hear your thoughts."

Fang Hongsheng straightened his posture and composed his expression.

He knew that Chen Fan wanted to hear his thoughts and also wanted to see if he really had the goods.

However, he was not intimidated at all—he had become a Fang Hongsheng at his previous company based on his own strength, not by just putting in time.

He began to share his thoughts.

First is the management system.

Currently, the responsibilities of each level of management in the company are unclear, and most matters are reported directly to Chen Fan.

When there were seventy or eighty people, this method could barely be maintained, but as the company grows larger, to one hundred or two hundred people, Chen Fan wouldn't be able to handle it even if he had three heads and six arms.

Therefore, the first thing he needs to do is to clarify the management levels, define the job responsibilities for each level, and lead the company toward standardization.

Next are the systems and processes. The company currently has no written employee handbook, performance evaluations are basically non-existent, and there is a lack of standardized processes for project initiation and review.

These things are not a problem in the startup stage; small companies can function by having people keep an eye on each other, but for the company to move forward, these basic management systems must be implemented.

Fang Hongsheng plans to spend the first month building up the most urgently needed systems. He won't make them too complicated; he will first ensure there is a standard for everyone to follow, and then slowly optimize them based on actual circumstances later.

Next is human resources. The recruitment process, interview standards, and compensation system—these frameworks need to be built up as soon as possible. It cannot be like before, where people are only recruited in a rush when there is a temporary shortage.

After Fang Hongsheng finished saying this, he picked up his teacup, took a sip, and waited for Chen Fan's reaction.

Listening to Fang Hongsheng's plan, Chen Fan couldn't help but nod in his heart.

Fang Hongsheng didn't talk about any grandiose or empty goals; he didn't spout empty words like "bringing the company's revenue to tens of millions or hundreds of millions."

Instead, he went straight to the point, talking about the most pressing issues that needed to be solved immediately—management levels, systems and processes, and human resources.

Moreover, the way Fang Hongsheng spoke also made Chen Fan feel very comfortable.

He didn't start by denying the company's current practices, nor did he put on an air of "I have been in a big company, so I know everything." Instead, he analyzed the problems and proposed solutions objectively, with a calm tone and a sincere attitude.

Chen Fan already approved of this Fang Hongsheng in his heart.

The two communicated for over an hour, talking from management systems to systems and processes, from human resources to stock option incentives, and from this year's business goals to development plans for the next three years.

Fang Hongsheng spoke in detail, and Chen Fan listened attentively, occasionally interjecting with a few questions or nodding in agreement.

The tea was refilled twice, and Qiao Linlin came in to top up the tea twice before quietly retreating.

After the two had communicated for an hour, Fang Hongsheng finally left Chen Fan's office.
