265: Chapter 265 Let's see if I have the guts?

The next day, Counselor Shen Na woke up from her sleep.

A trace of confusion still lingered in her eyes. After being dazed for a few seconds, she seemed to remember something and sat up abruptly.

First, she looked at her surroundings and realized it was her own room.

Then, she looked down at her clothes. The white dress she wore last night was still perfectly intact, with no signs of having been unfastened.

She checked herself and felt no strange sensations of having been violated.

She slowly relaxed, leaning against the headboard, and saw the glass of water on the nightstand.

She stared at the water for a few seconds, and a smile slowly appeared at the corners of her mouth.

She got up, walked out of the bedroom, and went to the bathroom to wash up.

After washing up, she went to the living room and saw her bag sitting on the coffee table.

She walked over, took her phone out of the bag, found someone's contact information, hesitated for a moment, and then dialed.

The call connected quickly.

"Hello, Sister Na, are you awake?" Chen Fan's voice came from the other end of the line.

"Was it you who sent me home last night?" Counselor Shen Na asked.

"It wasn't me."

"Ah?" Counselor Shen Na was stunned for a moment.

"Then who else could it be?" A hint of a smile carried in Chen Fan's voice.

"Thank you," Counselor Shen Na said.

"What are you thanking me for? Isn't that what I should have done?"

It really was Chen Fan who sent her home. She felt a bit relieved; having drunk so much and gotten so drunk last night, it was fortunate that it was Chen Fan who brought her home.

However, at the same time, she felt a bit strange. Chen Fan hadn't done anything to her at all. Was she not pretty enough?

That shouldn't be right, either. She was well aware of the looks she received from the male students in her class and some of her colleagues at school.

"I didn't expect you to be such a gentleman," Counselor Shen Na couldn't help but say over the phone, her tone tinged with teasing.

"I actually wanted to do something," Chen Fan's voice came from the other end, carrying a hint of playfulness, "I was just afraid that you, Sister Na, would chop me with a knife after waking up."

"Pfft, as if you have the guts."

"I don't have the guts? Why don't you try getting drunk again next time, Sister Na, and see if I have the guts."

Counselor Shen Na was choked up by his words, a hint of shyness appearing in her eyes. "Alright, stop spouting nonsense. I'm hanging up."

After the call ended, Counselor Shen Na held her phone in her hand, standing in the living room. Sunlight shone in through the window, landing at her feet.

She looked down at the patch of light, then glanced at the just-ended call log on her phone screen, and couldn't help but pat her own forehead: "What on earth am I thinking?"

She shook her head, as if trying to shake out any inappropriate thoughts from her mind.

Then she picked up her phone to check the time—oh no, she was going to be late.

She hurriedly grabbed her bag and walked toward the door.

After changing her shoes, she rushed out the door impatiently.

...

Around two in the afternoon, Chen Fan was next to Li Nan's workstation, watching the sales on the Taobao backend.

The products listed on the Taobao store yesterday had started selling.

But sales yesterday weren't high, and they were only slowly picking up today.

This was normal, though, as it was a newly opened store, and the posts from the beauty bloggers invited via Weibo hadn't kicked in yet. Furthermore, the 'water army' that Li Nan had hired had just started working.

So, it was normal to have no sales.

Actually, Chen Fan had considered looking for people to fake orders to boost sales, but Li Nan said Taobao had been cracking down on fake orders recently, so he had to give up on that idea.

"Do you think our products can make it?" Chen Fan looked at Li Nan.

Li Nan nodded solemnly upon hearing this. "It will definitely make it, Boss Chen. Today's sales have already started to rise. Judging from the feedback from customer service, a good portion of the people are inquiring from Weibo, and the conversion rate for these people is very high."

Chen Fan nodded. He had great confidence in this brand.

Now that so much had been done, and 10 million had been invested, it all depended on the subsequent sales.

After watching for a while and seeing that sales were continuously increasing, Chen Fan felt relieved.

He returned to his office, leaned back in his chair, and took out his phone to play around.

He scrolled through a few news items on the screen, switched to QQ to check group messages, and just as he was about to exit, the phone rang suddenly.

An unfamiliar number popped up on the screen, with no notes and no location prompt. Chen Fan took a look, but still answered it.

"Hello, who is this?"

A crisp female voice came from the other end of the line, carrying a hint of nervousness and politeness: "Hello, may I ask if this is Chen Fan-tong... uh, Boss Chen?"

Chen Fan was stunned for a moment, a question mark appearing on his face.

Chen Fan-tong? What kind of address is that?

"I am Chen Fan. Who are you?" he asked.

"Hello, Boss Chen!" The girl's voice on the other side became a bit more enthusiastic, with a hint of uncontrollable excitement and nervousness in her tone. "I'm from the Jiao Tong University school newspaper reporter group. Dean Zhou asked me to contact you, saying it's for an entrepreneurship interview. When would be convenient for you?"

Chen Fan finally understood. So it was someone from the school newspaper.

Dean Zhou had only mentioned this yesterday, saying someone from the school newspaper would contact him. He didn't expect them to come so quickly.

He leaned back in his chair and relaxed his tone: "Just set the time. I'm free these next few days."

"Then... is tomorrow morning okay?" The other person's voice carried a hint of probing, as if afraid of being rejected.

"Sure, tomorrow morning. Should you come to my company, or should I go to the school?" Chen Fan asked.

"We need you to come to the school once."

"Alright, I'll come over tomorrow morning."

...

The next morning, Chen Fan drove to the school.

Sunlight slanted in through the car window, falling onto the steering wheel, illuminating the texture of the leather clearly. There weren't many cars on the road, and he didn't drive fast. It was just past nine when he arrived at the school.

After parking the car, Chen Fan called the number from yesterday. The call connected quickly.

"Hello, Boss Chen." The voice on the other side was much more natural than yesterday, but still carried a hint of politeness.

"I've arrived at the school. Where should I find you?" Chen Fan asked.

"Please come to the second floor of the Administration Building, to the School Newspaper Editorial Department," the girl gave him the address. "It's the grey building on the left side after entering the main gate. Walk to the end of the second-floor hallway, and there's a sign on the door that says 'School Newspaper Editorial Department'."

"Alright, I'm heading over." Chen Fan hung up the phone and walked toward the Administration Building.

He pushed open the glass door on the first floor, went up the stairs to the second floor, and sure enough, there was a door at the end of the hallway.

A white sign hung on the door frame with the words "School Newspaper Editorial Department" printed on it.

He raised his hand and knocked on the door twice, and the door was quickly opened from the inside.

The person who opened the door was a girl with pigtails, and she was quite pretty.
