136: Chapter 136 Mutated Cockroaches

As of now, the second phase of the cadets' training has been ongoing for 22 days.

In less than two months, the ten instructors have witnessed the magnificent transformation of these rookies from greenhorns to seasoned veterans.

They felt an unprecedented pressure.

Everyone felt there was nothing left to teach; 1/10 of the cadets were already more formidable than them.

"Everyone, don't have such concerns. Although the cadets' combat power has greatly improved, don't forget, this is due to the Mutant's ability. Aside from that, they are still just soldiers."

"I believe that in distinguishing victory and defeat on the battlefield, besides strength, there are many other factors. For example, mindset, willpower, and experience. These internal qualities can only be acquired through one battle after another and cannot be produced by injecting a single dose of medicine. This is also the significance of practical combat drills."

"Of course, if you are willing, I can give you a dose of medicine at any time to quickly turn you into a Mutant."

Oriental Chen stated his opinion.

"Mr. Dongfang is joking; we are Commander Yan's soldiers and must obey orders. We cannot arbitrarily inject medicine without orders from our superiors," an instructor refused.

"Precisely. All of you are elite soldiers; I hope you can impart your experience without reservation," Oriental Chen said with a smile.

"Mr. Dongfang, rest assured, we will definitely train those little rascals diligently!" everyone guaranteed.

"That's good!"

"Since many people have already developed abilities, the next stage of training should be upgraded," Oriental Chen said.

The instructors nodded in agreement; the current difficulty was indeed insufficient.

Thus, in the last 7 days of the second phase, the training was upgraded again.

Early on May 23rd, everyone was still ambushed at the bridgehead, quietly waiting.

They had been using this tactic for a week and had no intention of changing it.

At 7 AM, a swarm of unknown objects flew from the horizon, dark and ominous.

Everyone looked up at the sky.

Closer, even closer…

"Conceal! Everyone, quickly conceal!" someone shouted.

The scene erupted into chaos.

Many people didn't know what was happening but followed others, running into the building.

"Chirp, chirp, chirp~, chirp, chirp, chirp~…"

Thousands of flying robots in the sky launched indiscriminate attacks on the ground.

Many cadets who hadn't had time to run were directly eliminated.

Those who entered the corridors didn't fare much better.

Inside, at some unknown time, a large number of ten-centimeter-tall small robots resembling spiders had appeared. Each of them had a black electronic tag on its head, clearly marked with red numbers: 100.

They were everywhere on the ground and walls, countless in number.

15 minutes, the battle ended.

240 cadets were completely wiped out.

"Protest! We protest!"

"This is simply bullying; no prior notice, and ambushes in the corridors. Who could possibly win against this?!"

Many cadets expressed dissatisfaction.

"See? They still have a lot to learn," Oriental Chen said to the ten instructors, standing in front of the electronic screen.

"Mr. Dongfang, this is indeed a bit unfair. How many robots did you send out? Look, flying robots: 5,000! Spider robots: 30,000! No one can win against that," an instructor said, pointing to the numbers displayed on the electronic screen.

"Yes, Mr. Dongfang, no one can win against that!" another instructor agreed.

"It's normal not to win, but given a certain level of combat awareness and experience, only lasting 15 minutes is unacceptable, isn't it? Have you forgotten the zombie siege? Forgotten the zombie rat plague? Which time did you receive prior notice? Would those zombies spare you because you couldn't win? Or would you go protest to the zombies because you couldn't win?"

Oriental Chen retorted, and no one spoke up.

"Instructors, let me tell you, I did this on purpose today. It's also to teach these cadets a lesson. The battlefield is not static, and the enemy is not static. Always maintain vigilance and be fully prepared for battle, no matter when or where."

"These are just training robots; they are not infectious and do not have lethality. But on the battlefield, the situation will only be worse than now. If this is their only combat awareness and combat power, then I can responsibly say that humanity is doomed!"

"Let me reveal a piece of news to everyone. Just yesterday, we detected the presence of mutated cockroaches in many abandoned cities in the south! Note that I said: mutated cockroaches! Not zombie cockroaches!" Oriental Chen said.

"What are mutated cockroaches?" Rong Po asked, frowning.

"mutated cockroaches are a new species formed by the combination of traditional cockroaches and viral RNA. As everyone knows, cockroaches have strong reproductive capabilities. A single mutated cockroach can reproduce a large number of cockroach offspring with mutated genes in a very short time."

"These past few days, you have also witnessed the power of the Mutants. So you can boldly imagine the scene of millions of mutated cockroaches besieging a human Settlement. Note, it's millions of mutated cockroaches, potentially mutated cockroaches that can master abilities!" Oriental Chen painted a picture of a cockroach siege for everyone.

"Hiss~" Everyone imagined such a scene in their minds and collectively took a sharp breath.
