419: Chapter 419: Parting on bad terms

“Oh, come on. That’s completely pointless, a wasted effort. If the Huatong Chamber of Commerce wanted to deal with you, they’d just build an iron tower on top and solve the problem; you wouldn’t be able to run even if you wanted to! So, as I see it, the concept of safety doesn’t exist here at all!”

“From revealing the virus’s characteristics and predicting the ecological crisis, to now revitalizing the entire economic system and establishing survival bases, which of these wasn’t dependent on the intelligence or technology they provided? If not for them, our country’s situation would be no better than Oros Country’s right now.”

“It’s no exaggeration to say that if the Huatong Chamber of Commerce wanted to replace the Council, I don’t think it would be difficult. So, guarding against this and that every day is useless. I think the Mosang Ark Base should just be handed over to them; it’s simple and convenient!” Suo Tonghua said.

“What are you talking about? Shouldn’t the Council be responsible for the future of our country? I believe there’s no such thing as being too cautious in this matter!” He Jinghui slammed the table.

“Bang!”

Suo Tonghua also slammed the table.

He had never been afraid of confronting anyone head-on.

“Kid, I’ve tolerated you for too long! Damn it, spreading conspiracy theories in the Council day after day, I think you’re the biggest conspiracy! I, Suo Tonghua, declare that whether the Council agrees or not, the Northeast Military Region will proceed to the Huatong Chamber of Commerce in the coming days to discuss the construction of the underground base. I’m not getting involved in the Mosang Ark Base matter anymore!” With that, Suo Tonghua turned and slammed the door as he left.

“Suo Tonghua!” He Jinghui was so angry his teeth ached, but he was helpless.

“Old Suo is right, damn it. For such a trivial matter, a group of people keep nagging endlessly. I, Zongzheng Yue, am not going to play along either!” Zongzheng Yue turned his head and left as well.

“Everyone, to be honest, with the current strength of the Ulan Neutral Zone, our four Military Regions combined probably wouldn’t be their match. Otherwise, they wouldn’t dare to openly send notification letters to various countries around the world. So, do they need some kind of conspiracy? You all think about it, everyone, I’ve said all I can.” Yan Zhengping finished speaking and stood up to leave as well.

After Yan Zhengping left, Shentu Fu said nothing, stood up, and left directly.

The other council members were dumbfounded by this dramatic scene.

This was the first time in history that council members had left directly before a meeting had ended.

Baili Ji sat expressionlessly in the main seat, neither speaking nor getting angry.

“Speaker, they… ” He Jinghui pointed at the door, hesitating to speak.

“Meeting adjourned!” Baili Ji didn’t respond to him, stood up, and left directly.

… …

March 30, 2056 AD.

Laojie City, China-Myanmar border.

The Great Sun Country’s China Invasion Expeditionary Force had already amassed over 200,000 troops here.

Upon learning this news, Old Mantis inwardly cursed.

He wasn't worried about the Great Sun Country being detrimental to China, but rather that they would discover too early that the Combat Suits were losing their effectiveness.

Once they discovered this secret, this business would be over.

Not many crystalss had been collected from the Southeast Asia region yet, and it would be too much of a loss to expose it now.

What to do?

The Boss didn't know there was a problem with the Great Sun version of the Combat Suit and thought Old Mantis was worried about China's safety.

“Old Mantis, I’m telling you, don’t worry so much. Do you think this is still 100 years ago? Modern combat isn’t about numbers, but about technology. No matter how many people the devils have, they’re just cannon fodder.” The Boss comforted him.

“You’re quite insightful!” Tang Kun glanced at him.

“Of course, I’ve read books too, I understand that much.” The Boss smiled proudly, resting his foot on a nearby table.

“Then what do you think can stop them from attacking China?” Tang Kun asked.

“No, something’s very wrong! Old Mantis, tell me, are you a spy for the Great Sun Country?” The Boss looked at him suspiciously.

“Spy your head!” Tang Kun gave him a slap.

“No, the more I think about it, the more likely it is. If you weren’t a spy, why would you secretly sell China’s equipment to them?” The Boss seemed to have realized something.

“If I were a spy, wouldn’t I just give it to them?” Tang Kun retorted.

“True!” The Boss fell back into thought.

“But your actions are clearly aiding the enemy! Originally, the devils had no chance, but now with the Combat Suits, they have a chance!” The Boss spread his hands.

“You, quickly send someone to find Genmura Go and tell him that if the Great Sun Country dares to attack China, they won’t be able to buy even one Combat Suit!” Tang Kun said.

“Aren’t you contradicting yourself! If you don’t want them to fight, then don’t sell them the suits! Besides, even if they don’t fight now, will they listen to you once they have enough equipment?” The Boss was puzzled.

“What nonsense are you talking about, hurry up and go!” Tang Kun urged.

“Alright, alright! I’m going!” The Boss shook his head helplessly.

After Genmura Go received the message, he quickly reported it to the Commander-in-Chiefs office.

The Commander-in-Chiefs office replied that there was no plan to attack China.

After Tang Kun received the reply, he felt relieved.
