458: Chapter 458 Lightweight Transformer Mecha

A 1mm thick fiber steel armor cannot withstand high-velocity, high-hardness bullets. However, with the protection of this layer of armor, the bullet's speed will be greatly reduced. Coupled with the Combat Suit inside, the safety factor is much higher.

As for the style, it can reference the appearance of Iron Man. The difference is that this armor only has auxiliary and defensive functions and cannot fly.

2. First-generation Lightweight Transformable Mecha.

A transformable mecha refers to a mecha whose form can undergo simple transformations.

Oriental Chen only designed two models.

Model 1 is a land-based mecha. This mecha can switch between a humanoid upright state and an armored vehicle state.

In its humanoid upright state, the mecha can perform various complex movement operations. To improve operability, various movement postures have been encapsulated. It supports simultaneous control via manual joystick and voice.

Even so, mastering its operation requires a lot of practical training, making the threshold very high.

In its armored vehicle state, the mecha only has two functions: driving and weapon attack. It is fully automatic, very simple to operate, with no threshold whatsoever.

The two states can be switched with a single button.

Model 2 is an aerial mecha. It can switch between a humanoid upright state and an aircraft state.

There is no difference in operation between its humanoid state and the land-based mecha.

The only difference is that in flight mode, it can fly in the sky.

And it also only has two functions: driving and weapon attack, and it is also fully automatic.

Both types of mechas are composed of a fully enclosed control room and other mechanical components.

To enhance the mecha's combat capability, and of course, to counter the Okshung Empire's mechas, in addition to the continuously used laser weapons, he also designed a small electromagnetic cannon.

3. Small Electromagnetic Cannon.

This requires no further explanation: it achieves firing by using electromagnetic acceleration to impart high-speed kinetic energy to the bullet in a short amount of time.

The most crucial point is that he designed a special bullet for the electromagnetic cannon: the nano armor-piercing bullet.

4. Nano Armor-Piercing Bullet.

The design concept is derived from armor-piercing bullets. Compared to traditional armor-piercing bullets, it has the following two differences:

Firstly: The warhead is integrally formed, enhancing its rigidity at the molecular arrangement level, making it more penetrative.

Secondly: The warhead is attached with a large number of nano-robots. After the bullet penetrates the mecha, these nano-robots will infiltrate inwards through the holes.

The purpose of designing this bullet is entirely to counter the Okshung Federation's mechas.

Their mechas have a nanolayer on the surface, but surely not inside, right?

As long as a wave of nano-robots successfully infiltrates, they're directly out of commission.

So the bullet itself doesn't have much lethality, but the nano-robots inside can be deadly.

5. First-generation Squad Combat Robot.

This is specifically equipped for use with mechas.

Its design concept is very similar to that of simulated flying robots.

The difference is that this is composed of 1000 smaller, complete, non-expandable flying robots.

Their smaller size enhances their portability. They only need to occupy a very small space on the back of the mecha to fully accommodate these robots.

“Complete” means that they are entirely a single entity. Although they are independent individuals, they can only collectively perform the same task. In other words, they cannot act alone, cannot act in groups, and cannot perform multiple different tasks simultaneously.

Why design it this way? That's because in combat, life and death are often decided within a second. On one hand, there's no need to split so many tasks; simple and direct is most effective. On the other hand, there isn't much time to assign tasks and manage them separately.

Just like if a beehive is poked, will the bees split into groups to do different things? Obviously not. They will definitely all fly out together to attack the person who poked the beehive.

The same is true in combat: you can assign them to complete an attack, complete an interference, complete a reconnaissance, and so on. Once the task is given, they will collectively sortie and work together to complete the task.

Doing this is simple, direct, and effective.

As for non-expandability, it's relatively simple. To improve efficiency, these 1000 squad combat robots are completely tied to the main control on the mecha. This greatly reduces algorithmic consumption, thereby improving stability and maneuverability. In short, it means quick and agile reactions!
