284: Chapter 284 Hit Yourself in the Face
“Fourth: These individuals often move quickly and have strong mobility. This characteristic also makes it difficult for our traditional heavy firepower to achieve precise strikes against them.”
“To deal with swarm tactics, we must start from these characteristics. I personally believe there are two methods:”
“The first method is decapitation. As the saying goes, to catch the bandit, first catch the king. If we can locate the central control unit and destroy it, the entire Rat Rabbit swarm will instantly lose its combat effectiveness.”
Upon hearing Yan Zhengping propose a solution, the councilors picked up their pens and began to write in their notebooks.
“The second method is swarm against swarm. If there’s no way to find the enemy Rat Rabbit swarm’s central control unit, or even if it’s found but the necessary conditions for decapitation are not met, then we can only form our own combat swarm. Only by using swarm against swarm can we achieve precise strikes against the enemy.”
“Of course, this is just my personal opinion, and everyone can take it as a reference.”
“Judging by that, are you planning to promote Huatong Chamber of Commerce’s Simulation Spider Robots in the council?” asked He Jinghui of the Security Department.
“I think Councilor He has misunderstood. I just said that I am only providing reference opinions. As for which plan to adopt, that will naturally be based on the outcome of the meeting’s discussions. And it is well known that Huatong Chamber of Commerce does not do business with the military, so if the council decides to procure these Simulation Spider Robots, then they will naturally come to my Southwest Military Region,” Yan Zhengping said, staring at He Jinghui with a sly smile.
What’s wrong with promoting Simulation Spider Robots? Yan Zhengping stated, not only will I promote them, I’ll promote them for myself. If you don't want to buy from Huatong Chamber of Commerce, Huatong Chamber of Commerce won't sell to you either.
“Yan Zhengping, you’ve gone too far! Such blatant abuse of power for personal gain, what do you take the council for?” He Jinghui slammed the table and demanded in a stern voice.
“Abuse of power for personal gain? I’d like to ask Councilor He, what personal gain have I sought?” Yan Zhengping asked calmly, not angered.
“What personal gain? If you have the guts, tell everyone how many crystalss you earned from the council and the various Military Regions for the Ultrasonic Emitter last time?” He Jinghui stood up and questioned him with conviction.
“Haha, Councilor He, is this how your Security Department always operates? No wonder you can’t produce any decent results; so that’s where the problem lies,” Yan Zhengping laughed.
“What do you mean?” He Jinghui asked coldly.
“Isn’t it obvious? Relying solely on hearsay and subjective conjecture to get things done, it would be truly strange if you could achieve results!” Yan Zhengping said.
The other councilors also shook their heads, believing He Jinghui was too impulsive today.
Since Yan Zhengping could openly sell the transmitters, how could he possibly allow himself to be easily caught? Regardless of how much he earned, there was absolutely no way there would be any issues with the accounts.
Would he be so foolish as to dig his own grave?
For Yan Zhengping, balancing the accounts was, naturally, very easy. That’s because no one knew the true procurement price of the transmitters, so the cost was simply whatever Yan Zhengping said it was.
Therefore, naturally, if Yan Zhengping said he made money, then he made money; if he said he didn’t, then he didn’t. How could anyone verify any issues?
If no issues could be verified, how could it be determined that Yan Zhengping abused his power for personal gain?
Everyone present was a shrewd individual; they understood this with a little thought.
Therefore, no one had brought this matter up until now.
Yet, He Jinghui, in his frustration today, spoke out.
What good would speaking out do? It would only make him look foolish.
“You…!” He Jinghui’s sore spot was hit, and his chest heaved violently.
“I propose an audit of the Southwest Military Region’s financial issues!” He Jinghui, unwilling to yield, insisted on seeing it through.
None of the councilors seconded him, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
“You…,” He Jinghui was displeased with the councilors’ indifference, but he didn’t know what to say.
He felt his idea was correct, but no one seemed to believe him.
It wasn’t that no one believed him; rather, most councilors probably thought there was something fishy going on. But knowing that no results would come from an investigation, it was clearly unwise to step forward in such a situation, only to needlessly offend people.
“Alright, Councilor He, please sit down for now,” Baili Ji said.
Seeing the Speaker speak, He Jinghui could only reluctantly sit down.
“Councilor Yan, has this Simulation Spider Robot you mentioned been tested?” Baili Ji asked.
“No. At the time, I only briefly looked into it; I didn’t pay much attention,” Yan Zhengping replied.
Baili Ji nodded.
“Everyone, we have already made a resolution regarding the Huatong Chamber of Commerce issue, and the anti-monopoly investigation has been completed. Let’s put this topic aside for now. I personally believe Councilor Yan’s proposal is still reasonable, but its specific effectiveness needs further verification,” Baili Ji stated.
There were two key phrases here: one was “for now,” and the other was “reasonable.”
This was partly to balance various opinions, and partly to separate the Huatong Chamber of Commerce issue from the Simulation Spider Robots matter.
This set a tone.
This attitude was consistent with Oriental Chen’s analysis. The council still wanted to rely on the Huatong Chamber of Commerce’s technology to solve practical problems, so they couldn’t simply dismiss it. But the phrase “put aside for now” also clearly indicated that there might be further suppression of the chamber later.
