321: Chapter 321 A Lucky Decision

The dung beetless closest to the boundary began to dig, burrowing downwards.

One, two, three, more and more dung beetless started digging, and increasingly dense dust rose from outside the boundary.

On the other side of the screen, Shen Tu Zheng Hao was on the phone and happened to see the scene on the screen.

“Quick, get Dai Zheng here!” Shen Tu Zheng Hao immediately hung up the phone and shouted outside.

He didn't know if this iron tower could defend against attacks from underground.

Soon, Dai Zheng ran over.

“Report!” Dai Zheng shouted from outside the door.

“Enter!” Shen Tu Zheng Hao replied.

Dai Zheng walked into the command center.

“Dai Zheng, I ask you, can your iron tower block attacks from underground?” Shen Tu Zheng Hao asked anxiously.

“Yes!” Dai Zheng nodded solemnly.

“Oh! That’s good!” Shen Tu Zheng Hao finally breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Dai Zheng’s affirmative answer.

With the Bee Queen present, underground attacks were nothing to fear.

“However, Commander, this iron tower cannot withstand threats from the air. If the enemy conducts an aerial strike, it will be very difficult for us to deal with it,” Dai Zheng added.

“That’s fine. Their artillery group has already been destroyed by us, so there shouldn’t be any aerial threat in a short time,” Shen Tu Zheng Hao said.

Dai Zheng nodded and said nothing more.

Since the Dung Beetles’ attack was underground, it was impossible to judge the effectiveness of the attack with the naked eye at this point.

However, Dai Zheng’s assurance put Shen Tu Zheng Hao at ease.

On the other side, Ling Tian was still waiting for the results.

He could only see dung beetless continuously burrowing underground, but no dung beetless emerged from the other side of the boundary. His intuition told him that this method might not work.

“Senior Brother…” Ling Su ran in anxiously.

“Did it not succeed?” Ling Tian was already mentally prepared.

“Yes! It’s still the same; the Dung Beetles near that boundary just disappear mysteriously,” Ling Su nodded and said.

“Have you tried digging the hole deeper?” Ling Tian asked.

“We tried, it’s useless,” Ling Su replied.

Ling Tian fell into deep thought again.

This was completely different from what he had imagined.

He had initially guessed that the invisible boundary might be a protective shield formed by the glowing iron tower. If his assumption held true, this shield should be like a pot lid, covering from top to bottom.

Although he was extremely unwilling to believe that such technology existed in this world, capable of generating a protective shield out of thin air, given the scene before him, this explanation was the most reasonable.

However, reality disproved his hypothesis.

This protective shield could even penetrate underground, which was truly difficult to comprehend.

But in reality, he had fallen into a misconception, and his line of thinking was completely wrong. There was no protective shield there at all.

Even that iron tower was just a display to mislead others.

The same was true for the previous conflict between the Red Lotus Sect and the Red Coat Sect in Mos; the glowing aircraft or iron tower in the middle were merely to allow people to smoothly understand the reason for the disappearance of the zombies and these dung beetless, and had no other purpose.

Clearly, everyone who didn't know the truth had their thinking led astray.

Everyone believed that it was the iron tower that was blocking the Dung Beetles’ attack.

“Damn it!” Ling Tian slammed the table hard.

That invisible protective shield had tightly surrounded the Huaxia army, and he couldn't think of a countermeasure for a moment.

“Senior Brother, why don’t we try attacking from the air?” Ling Su suggested.

She said this without much confidence herself, only speaking out of concern because she didn't want to see her Senior Brother so distressed.

“Even underground is completely protected, so it’s even more impossible to break through from the air.” Ling Tian shook his head, decisively giving up on the attempt.

There was another reason he was unwilling to try.

All the artillery stationed in Batuo City had been given to the Huaxia army as bait for nothing. Otherwise, couldn't those artillery pieces have carried out aerial strikes?

But he couldn't admit that he had miscalculated this step, because his self-esteem was too strong.

Ling Su nodded, not thinking much about it either.

If Ling Tian thought so, she thought so too.

According to their normal understanding, it must be more difficult to protect underground than in the air. A protective shield would definitely require more energy to penetrate underground. There was no reason for the underground to be so tightly protected while the air was not.

If they knew that the iron tower was just a decoration and there was no protection in the air at all, would they directly spit blood in anger?

Ling Tian was extremely agitated at this moment.

He had painstakingly lured the Huaxia army to Batuo City and successfully surrounded them. But this piece of fat meat, so close to his mouth, just couldn't be bitten off. How could he not be anxious?

“Then why don’t we try with the Giant Ant Legion?” Ling Su asked.

The Giant Ant Legion Ling Su referred to meant the Armored Ants.

“They’ll also enter… wait, do you mean to attack directly from the outside?” Ling Tian was about to say they couldn't enter, then suddenly realized.

“Exactly. But I just don’t know if that boundary can block bullets,” Ling Su said, somewhat uncertainly.

“It doesn’t matter, we can try. Go quickly and do it!” Ling Tian urged.

They would soon realize how fortunate this decision was.
