92: Chapter 92 Confrontation Exercise

“Is that so? Alright then!” Shen Wengang pondered briefly before agreeing.

For him, it didn't matter where or how the Dark Night Squad trained; there was no need to deliberately contradict Zongzheng Yue.

Zongzheng Yue, at this moment, was a bit overconfident. He believed that with the protection of the Combat Suit, even Mutants could be easily dealt with, so what was a Dark Night Squad? He was eager to experience the awesomeness of the Combat Suit and, incidentally, teach the Dark Night Squad and the Military Political Department a lesson.

“Alright, I’ll have someone arrange lodging for you. You should rest up well first. Tomorrow, we’ll have a live-fire exercise.” Zongzheng Yue was overjoyed when Shen Wengang agreed.

“Yes, Commander!” Shen Wengang saluted and left.

Early the next morning, 200 Soldiers wearing Combat Suits stood neatly on the training ground. On the other side was the Dark Night Squad led by Shen Wengang, a total of 19 people including himself.

Shen Wengang saw that all the Soldiers opposite were wearing Combat Suits and gave an awkward smile.

Fortunately, he wasn't wearing his hood, and the clothes he wore underneath were not visible to others. Otherwise, this situation would have been truly awkward.

Taking advantage of the assembly interval, Shen Wengang sent this scene to Oriental Chen using his Digital Eye.

Oriental Chen smiled knowingly and sent a message:

“Train them hard!”

Subsequently, at Shen Wengang's suggestion, all 19 people on his side participated, and Zongzheng Yue also had all 200 of his warriors participate.

Initially, Zongzheng Yue disagreed; this was clearly bullying.

One against ten? Did he think he was tough, or was he too confident in himself?

However, since Shen Wengang insisted, he said nothing more. Anyway, they were just blanks; they wouldn't kill anyone. It was a good opportunity to suppress the arrogance of these new recruits from Dark Night.

The first confrontation exercise took place in an abandoned building specifically used for training within the Military Region.

Shen Wengang's team was Red Team, primarily defensive, while Zongzheng Yue's 200 warriors were Blue Team, primarily offensive.

Soon, the combat began.

Shen Wengang ordered the other 18 team members to disperse and hide throughout the building. Two hundred fully armed warriors entered the building in an offensive formation.

It should be noted that in the pre-match agreement, Zongzheng Yue had specifically stated that these Combat Suits were bulletproof. Therefore, his warriors were not considered eliminated if shot; they had to be captured. As for Shen Wengang's 19 people, they ostensibly did not have Combat Suits, so being shot meant they were eliminated.

Shen Wengang understood the characteristics of the Combat Suit, so he agreed without hesitation. The team members were puzzled and felt it was unfair, but since their Captain agreed, they said nothing more.

Therefore, in this confrontation, everyone was relatively conservative, trying not to expose themselves.

“Whoosh~”

As soon as the 200 Blue Team members entered the building, a strong wind suddenly picked up for some unknown reason. The wind was so strong that the swirling dust obscured everyone's vision.

“Everyone, move towards the center, don't get separated!” someone shouted.

Upon hearing this, everyone gathered towards the center, huddling close to each other.

“Sliiiip~”

No one noticed a rope flying over, snatching away a warrior.

“Sliiiip~”

“Sliiiip~”

Several Soldiers standing on the periphery were successively taken down and then walked out of the building dejectedly.

“What the heck?”

Zongzheng Yue saw seven or eight of his own men walk out one after another and became agitated.

How long had it been? A minute? So many people taken out already?

“You, come here. What's going on?” Zongzheng Yue called over an already “eliminated” Soldier and asked.

“Reporting, Commander, a strong wind picked up inside, and dust was flying everywhere. We were tied up without seeing anything!” the warrior replied dejectedly.

“Strong wind? Where did the wind come from?” Zongzheng Yue was baffled.

This was the consequence of him underestimating Mutants.

Oriental Chen had told everyone in the base half a year ago that Mutants were the main force against zombies.

But others, including most of the upper echelons of the Military Political Department, had not yet realized this.

And this confrontation was the beginning.

While he was speaking, more than a dozen warriors successively withdrew.

Zongzheng Yue's face was ashen.

The most infuriating thing was that those who came out knew nothing, not even seeing a hair of their opponents.

Even more infuriating was that a few people had their clothes stripped, which was troublesome.

The strong wind did not last long and stopped because the Mutant who possessed this skill was not yet strong enough, and the duration he could maintain it was very limited.

“Whoosh~”

Just as everyone had stabilized their minds, it seemed like someone suddenly appeared and then disappeared.

Immediately after,

“Whoosh~, Whoosh~, Whoosh~”

People flashed in quick succession.

Only the lingering sound of wind breaking in the air and the dust stirred up on the ground could prove that someone indeed appeared and then disappeared; otherwise, they might not have even noticed.

Accompanying the quick flashes of figures, each time someone let out a cry of “Ah.”

The hundred-odd warriors huddled together on the scene looked around in a bit of a panic, only knowing that people around them were constantly decreasing but not understanding how.

A few people raised their guns and fired wildly, “Bang, bang, bang,” but unfortunately, they hit nothing.

This time, more than a dozen Blue Team warriors were eliminated.

They discovered a pattern: two different attack methods, each lasting for a short duration.

“Comrades, we cannot passively wait here. Listen to my command: Teams 1 to 5 take the left staircase, Teams 2 to 10 take the right staircase. Everyone, speed up and charge upstairs. Their attacks won't last long; we'll use this interval to push forward.”
