455: Chapter 455: Spiritualism

The Maya Civilization's artisans had a unique way of studying the patrol ships.

They didn't use any monitoring equipment; instead, they sat cross-legged on the ground, closed their eyes, and rapidly moved both hands.

It looked as if they were manipulating something in the void, like a group of shamans performing a ritual.

“Woo woo woo~”

“Warning! Warning! Self-destruct sequence initiated. All personnel evacuate immediately.”

Suddenly, the warship emitted a loud alarm.

These artisans, of course, knew what was happening and immediately awoke from their meditation, quickly running out.

“Bang bang bang~”

Cracking and popping sounds came from within the warship, but the hull did not explode.

The self-destruction process only rendered all control equipment Deprecated, it would not cause a large explosion.

“How was it? Any gains?”

Several artisans stood together, discussing amongst themselves.

“I only saw a little, and it wasn’t clear.” One artisan sighed, shaking his head.

“Several of us saw a little bit. Let’s piece it together.” Another artisan said.

So they sat down again in an open space outside, closing their eyes.

The person in the middle formed a hand seal, and immediately a faint blue, continuously rotating array appeared on the ground, covering all the others.

Following this, blue light emanated from everyone’s eyelids, making them look somewhat like they were under the influence of the Mind Control Technique.

However, what they were using now was not the Mind Control Technique, but another spell: Psychometry.

The so-called Psychometry did not allow them to see anything fantastical, but rather to bypass language and directly grasp another person's inner thoughts.

We all know that communication through language is flawed and very inefficient. Two people communicating face-to-face for several hours will, in all likelihood, not fully grasp the other person's complete thoughts.

Psychometry, however, perfectly solved this problem.

The person in the middle acted as the central brain; his brainwaves formed a resonance field with the others around him, guiding them to collectively ponder the same problem.

This way, the information held by several people could be rapidly merged and summarized, forming a more systematic body of knowledge.

Take the analogy of the blind men and the elephant. Each person only grasped a specific feature of the elephant, but they couldn't describe what they felt through language.

For ordinary people, it would be extremely difficult to combine these fragmented pieces of information and piece together the appearance of an elephant.

But Psychometry could smoothly piece these puzzles together, forming a complete picture.

This should be one of the reasons why the Maya Civilization was able to rise rapidly in a short period.

Half an hour later, the rotating array disappeared, and the artisans gradually opened their eyes.

Everyone looked towards the person in the middle.

“How was it?”

“It’s still not concrete enough; I’m afraid it will be difficult to produce.” The person in the middle replied.

“We can only try!” The person in the middle sighed.

August 16, 2056 AD.

Morning.

Olos Country, Krastov Oblast, Terne-O, National Laboratory Extraterrestrial Life Research Institute.

“Boom boom boom~”

“Buzz buzz buzz~”

Over a dozen unusually large aircraft arrived here, slowly descending.

“Clang clang clang clang~”

The aircraft ramps lowered, and several three-meter-tall mechs walked out.

From the violent tremor of the ground, it was clear that these iron fellows were not light.

They carried heavy weaponry on their backs and held oversized, specially made submachine guns in their hands.

On their left arms, uniformly, were three white letters: ARM.

ARM is the abbreviation for the Okshung Federation.

“Commander, it’s here!”

“Let’s go take a look!” The Commander made a forward gesture.

“Clang clang~”

Two mech warriors walked towards the entrance.

Their height was simply too great; although the two-story building was much taller than them, it still appeared very small.

They certainly couldn't enter through the short, small glass door in front of the building.

“Captain, the door is too small, we can’t get in.” The warrior reported.

They communicated through electronic devices; the sound directly resonated within the mech, so distance did not affect communication.

“Bring a few monkeys over!” The Commander ordered.

“Yes!”

Soon, a dozen people, male and female, were escorted out of the aircraft.

They were disheveled and in rags, looking as if they had been confined for quite some time.

That’s right, those wearing mechs were not humans. In their eyes, humans and monkeys were the same species.

“Put on!” The mech simulated human language, awkwardly spitting out a few words.

A mech warrior brought over a large basket, which contained a pile of iron collars.

The iron collars were for placing around the neck.

These people, in front of these behemoths, were as weak as chicks and dared not resist.

They stepped forward one after another, picked up the iron collars, and very consciously put them on themselves.

“Go in!” The Commander issued another clumsy command.

Barefoot and hunched over, everyone slowly walked into the building.

The mechs' vision had already synchronized the scene inside; it seemed the iron collars around their necks had monitoring capabilities.
