151: Chapter 151 Interrogation

Interrogation Room Number 3.

“I’m very sorry to tell you, your luck is too bad. You ended up being the last one. It’s possible you’re the unluckiest of them all.”

Oriental Chen once again explained the effects of the two agents.

“Unfortunately, you don’t have priority in choosing. Your fate rests solely on the two people before you. As long as they don’t speak, you’ll have a chance. But I don’t think that’s very likely, so good luck!”

With that, Oriental Chen exited the interrogation room.

“Mr. Dongfang, will this really have any effect? They are all stubborn individuals,” Zongzheng Yue said.

“Don’t overestimate them. I think their performance will certainly open your eyes,” Oriental Chen said with a smile.

Zongzheng Yue was unconvinced.

Such tricks are only good for fooling three-year-olds.

Ten minutes later, Oriental Chen re-entered Interrogation Room Number 1.

“Alright, it’s time to make a choice. You only have this one chance to choose. If you don’t seize it, then I apologize, the priority of choice will go to Number 2. You have ten seconds to consider.”

With that, Oriental Chen took out a stopwatch and pressed the timer.

“I’ll talk!”

In less than two seconds, No. 1 Holy Envoy made his choice.

“A wise choice. However, whether you receive the agent depends on whether the information you provide is true. Do not attempt to deceive me with false information; the consequences are severe! Do you understand?”

“Understood.”

“Alright, then begin!”

Zongzheng Yue, standing nearby, widened his eyes; this was too bizarre. But he quickly composed himself and gestured for the Soldier next to him to begin recording.

“What do you want to know?” the Holy Envoy asked.

“Just tell us about this Zombie siege,” Oriental Chen said.

“This goes back to when the Settlement first installed the Ultrasonic Emitter. For over two months prior, I secretly cultivated a batch of Zombie Rats in several basements of the Suiyang Anbu. Everything was going smoothly until one day, the Military Region sent people to the Settlement, saying they were installing an Ultrasonic Emitter to repel Zombie Rats. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, believing that ultrasonic waves couldn’t possibly counter Zombie Rats. However, not long after that transmitter was installed, all the rats I had been raising mysteriously disappeared.”

“Why were you raising Zombie Rats?” Oriental Chen asked.

“It was a task assigned to me by the Holy Son. The Holy Son said these rats were prepared for various Settlements. Their presence would facilitate our smooth acquisition of control in the future,” Number One replied.

“Then, is the Zombie Rat infestation that broke out in Jiangning Resettlement Center related to you?” Oriental Chen asked.

“No relation. There might be other Holy Envoys doing the same thing; I’m not clear on that either.”

“How did you know the Military was installing a transmitter to repel animal Zombies in the Settlement?”

“The Suiyang Anbu is actually under my control,” Number One replied.

“What is the relationship between the head of the Settlement and you?” Oriental Chen asked.

“He is one of our believers.”

“Do you know Mei Wenhua?”

“I do.”

“What is his relationship with Zhai Yuze, the head of the Settlement?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Zhai Yuze was recruited by Mei Wenhua,” Number One replied.

“What?” Oriental Chen immediately felt that something was amiss.

“I ask you, is Mei Wenhua truly dead or not?” Oriental Chen asked.

“This… this… this…” Number One was a bit flustered.

“What, at this point, you still want to hold back?” Oriental Chen threatened.

“I wouldn’t dare. He… he’s not dead,” the Holy Envoy said through gritted teeth.

Hearing this answer, Oriental Chen understood; they had collaborated to put on a show last time.

“Where is he now?” Oriental Chen asked.

“I don’t know. The Holy Son said he holds some secrets and cannot die yet. He was taken away directly by the Holy Son afterward. We don’t have the authority to know where specifically he went,” Number One replied.

“Then what happened next?” Oriental Chen continued to ask.

“After the Military left, we tried to dismantle the transmitter. To our surprise, the transmitter couldn't be found. Not long after, the rats we were raising also disappeared. I knew that this type of transmitter would be installed in every Settlement. If that happened, our plan would be severely disrupted. I realized the seriousness of the problem and immediately reported the situation.”

“How do you communicate with the Holy Son?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Through a telegraph machine,” No. 1 Holy Envoy replied.

“A telegraph machine?” Oriental Chen was surprised.

“That’s right, a telegraph machine,” No. 1 Holy Envoy replied.

“So that’s how it is.” Oriental Chen suddenly understood.

No wonder so little information about the Red Coat Sect was obtained; the problem actually lay here.

Telegraph machines had long been obsolete; he never expected someone to pick them up again now.

“Continue,” Oriental Chen said.

“Later, the Holy Son revealed another shocking piece of news to us. After learning this news, a few of us Holy Envoys discussed it and had no choice but to take a desperate gamble and plan the Zombie siege,” No. 1 Holy Envoy said.

“What news?” Oriental Chen asked.
