68: Chapter 68: Vulnerable
“Those damn Enforcerss said so,” Oriental Chen probed further.
“What? Then they…” Mei Wenhua had fallen for it.
“Of course, I caught them,” Oriental Chen said casually.
“Impossible!” Mei Wenhua didn’t believe him.
“Believe it or not. I’m here for your precious son today,” Oriental Chen said.
He had learned from Shen Wengang that the Tier 2 Zombie Shen Wengang killed was Mei Wenhua’s son. Coupled with the Red Coat Sect’s plan to deal with Niu Xingwang, Oriental Chen couldn’t help but connect the two events. And it turned out he was right.
“I advise you to release him as soon as possible, or you won’t be able to bear the consequences!” Mei Wenhua sat down and said fiercely.
“You don’t need to worry about my affairs; you should think about your own future. Tsk tsk tsk, raising zombies and feeding them with living people—if this gets out, you definitely won’t survive,” Oriental Chen teased.
“What do you want?” Mei Wenhua frowned.
“Nothing much. Just disperse all your family wealth and atone for your sins with death,” Oriental Chen said.
“Impossible!” Mei Wenhua exploded.
“Alright, suit yourself. It’s just, I wonder if the consequences for you will be better if those three Enforcerss go back and tell everyone you leaked information,” Oriental Chen said, picking at his fingernails, as if talking about something utterly commonplace.
Mei Wenhua despaired. He stared fixedly at the young man in front of him and said,
“If I die, you won’t live either!”
“Oh? How so?” Oriental Chen almost laughed.
“Do you think you can still leave here?” Mei Wenhua threatened.
“Wow, you’re trying to silence me. I’m so scared!” Oriental Chen said he was scared, but he didn’t look scared at all.
“Come in!” Mei Wenhua shouted.
“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.”
Dozens of people rushed in from outside, surrounding the inner courtyard completely, each holding a knife.
“Oh! What a grand display. But your equipment isn’t up to par! You think holding a broken knife makes you a gangster?” Oriental Chen glanced around, speaking disdainfully.
“Hmph, still talking tough when death is at your doorstep!” Mei Wenhua looked at him as if he were a dead man.
“Mei Wenhua, you’re not so foolish as to think I came alone without any preparations, are you?” Oriental Chen stood up, hands in his pockets.
Mei Wenhua frowned and looked around, finding nothing unusual. He said,
“Bluffing! Attack him, kill him!” Mei Wenhua stopped talking nonsense and directly ordered his subordinates to act.
Just as everyone was about to move, they suddenly discovered that spiders, coming from who knew where, had already surrounded them.
Looking around, except for the small circle beneath Oriental Chen’s and Mei Wenhua’s feet, the entire living room, the ground and walls of the courtyard were covered in spiders. The spiders on everyone’s legs had already crawled past their knees, and some faster ones had already reached their collars.
What followed was a room full of screams, slapping, stomping… everyone was in chaos, too busy to care for themselves.
“See, what did I tell you? Vulnerable,” Oriental Chen said to Mei Wenhua, spreading his hands.
“You, you, you… What exactly do you want to do!” Mei Wenhua stammered, somewhat scared.
“How about this, Mei Wenhua. I don’t like killing. I’ll give you two choices. The first is to sit here and wait for the Red Coat Sect to come and settle accounts with you. The second is to come with me to Command HQ and explain everything clearly. You choose one,” Oriental Chen stated his demands.
In fact, he also didn’t want to act here; most of these subordinates were just ordinary citizens, so there was no need to kill them.
Mei Wenhua despaired. If the Red Coat Sect found out he had betrayed the three Enforcerss, his fate would probably be hundreds of times worse than death. It would be better to surrender directly to Command HQ and get it over with quickly. However, the only thing he didn’t suspect was that Oriental Chen was bluffing him. In reality, the three Enforcerss hadn’t made a move yet.
“Alright! I’ll go with you!” Mei Wenhua let go of his last ounce of strength and said, hanging his head.
Mozhou City, Suiyang Anbu, Command HQ.
“Boss Mei, is what you said true?”
Zhai Yuze, the mayor of Mozhou City, was greatly alarmed after hearing Mei Wenhua’s narration.
“Absolutely true!” Mei Wenhua replied, his head bowed in dejection.
“You, Mei Wenhua, you deserve to die! You truly deserve to die!” Mayor Zhai paced back and forth angrily, cursing as he walked.
“To think we trusted you so much and supported you so strongly. How could you do such a heinous thing! Those were living human lives! How could you bring yourself to do it?”
“I’m sorry, Mayor Zhai, I have failed your trust.”
“Alright, I have nothing more to say. It will be handled by Command HQ.” With that, Mayor Zhai walked out of the office.
He needed to report this situation quickly.
The Red Coat Sect was his most pressing concern; such an evil force hidden in the shadows was not something a mayor could handle alone.
Group Leader Pang of Suiyang Anbu was also nearby, so he walked over and said,
“Mei Wenhua, given that your current actions have violated the crimes of intentional homicide, disturbing public order, and threatening national security, according to the relevant provisions of the National Emergency Management Plan, and meeting the agreed conditions for deprivation of litigation rights, you will be sentenced to death and immediately executed. Do you have any objections?”
