660: Chapter 660: A Famous Teacher Guiding the Way

Zhang Yuankui was also an experienced veteran of combat.

He looked around, found no enemies, and immediately activated the Energy Shield.

Sun Zhuo hadn't fully recovered when he realized something was wrong and immediately jumped up.

But it was still a step too late; his foot was hit by the Energy Shield, injuring him again.

"Damn it, this is too much!" Sun Zhuo was enraged and began to furiously attack the Energy Shield.

His ability was very common: speed and strength.

In close-quarters combat, this indeed offered a significant advantage.

But now, the Energy Shield absorbed most of the impact, and his attacks had no effect whatsoever.

In close combat, laser weapons were ineffective, so Zhang Yuankui chose to switch to Mech Mode.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

After converting to Mech Mode, he charged straight forward.

The Mech System integrated various fighting techniques, with a continuous stream of combos.

"Bang!"

A steel fist directly struck Sun Zhuo's chest, sending him flying.

"Ah!"

After Sun Zhuo's body flew out, he crashed into the Energy Shield, his back directly cut. At the same time, his body's kinetic energy was completely absorbed, and he fell limp to the ground.

Zhang Yuankui gave him no chance to catch his breath, leaping up to stomp on his body.

If he were hit by that stomp, he would likely be instantly flattened into a meat patty.

Sun Zhuo endured the sharp pain and rolled to his side.

"Bang!"

The Mech's massive metal foot stomped onto the ground, sending shattered rocks flying.

Zhang Yuankui missed with one stomp, then turned and delivered another.

"Bang!"

Sun Zhuo had no other choice but to roll to his side again to dodge.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two more stomps.

After several continuous rolls, Sun Zhuo finally found an opportunity to get up. He lunged forward, passing between the Mech's legs.

Not daring to relax, he did another somersault and stabilized himself a few meters away.

Zhang Yuankui turned, his legs slightly bent, preparing to charge forward with a powerful stride.

"Alright! Stop fighting, I surrender!" Sun Zhuo quickly raised his hand to stop him, shouting loudly.

Zhang Yuankui ceased his attack, awaiting Oriental Chen's command.

"Sun Zhuo, that won't do. You're a Rank 7 Mutant, after all; your combat power is really too pathetic," Oriental Chen said through the Mech's loudspeaker.

"That's easy for you to say. If it weren't for that shield, you'd be nothing," Sun Zhuo thought the person inside was Oriental Chen.

"Me? Save it! Technology is also a part of strength. How do you plan to surrender?" Oriental Chen replied.

"What do you want?" Sun Zhuo asked.

"Let me think. Your combat power is so pathetic, you're not good enough to be a doorman. As a sparring partner, I'd worry you'd mislead others. How about this: I happen to be preparing for a research project, so you can be the test subject," Oriental Chen said.

"You're truly going too far!" Sun Zhuo fumed.

"Or never mind, leaving a corpse for slow research is fine too," Oriental Chen added.

With that, the Mech was about to act.

"Wait, wait! I'm still useful!" Sun Zhuo panicked.

"Oh? Then tell me, how are you useful?"

"I can help you deal with Gu Qingyi," Sun Zhuo said.

"You know Gu Qingyi?" Oriental Chen hadn't expected such an unexpected gain.

"I... I know her!" Sun Zhuo said.

"How do you know her?"

"Eight hundred years ago, we were both Guest Elders of the Moni Sect," Sun Zhuo replied.

"They're all old monsters indeed!" Oriental Chen thought to himself.

"Then why aren't you staying in Mordo and running to Huaguo?" Oriental Chen asked.

"Didn't that useless Moni Sect Leader tell you? You must leave once you reach Rank 5," Sun Zhuo replied.

Oriental Chen had not interrogated the Moni Sect Leader.

"Why?"

"That's the sect rule. We need some missionaries to sow the seeds," Sun Zhuo replied.

"So, you're actually a missionary?"

"That's right."

"I imagine you haven't fulfilled your duties as a missionary, have you?" Oriental Chen asked.

Shen Huiying had already said that only two types of people could survive until now.

One type was powerful.

One type was cautious.

"Fulfill duties? Don't be ridiculous. Lying low is the king's way," Sun Zhuo said without reservation.

"I suppose when you came to Huaguo, you had a master to guide you!" Oriental Chen said mockingly.

If he hadn't had a master to guide him and had come here to proselytize, he probably would have died before even reaching the Central Plains.

"How do you know?" Sun Zhuo frowned.

"If you didn't have a master to guide you, how would you know to lie low?" Oriental Chen replied.

"That's right. At that time, an Elder from our Elder Hall had been operating in Huaguo for many years. When I came to Huaguo, it was to seek refuge with him," Sun Zhuo replied.

"Elder Hall?"

"Yes! Every Elder Hall has its own name."

Oriental Chen nodded.

Now that the Moni Sect was destroyed, whatever they called their halls didn't matter anymore.

"Eight hundred years ago, that should have been the Song Dynasty, right?"

"That's right."

"You said you could help me deal with Gu Qingyi. How?" Oriental Chen asked.
