691: Chapter 691 Humans Have Homes

“Where are you going?”

“Home,” the other party replied.

Oriental Chen frowned upon hearing that word.

The word ‘home’ is a concept unique to humans.

Tasman Ants do not possess this concept.

But how do they know the word ‘home’?

“You know ‘home’?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Humans, have home,” the other party replied.

Oriental Chen guessed that this sentence meant that it knew humans had homes.

“Where is home?” Oriental Chen organized his words and asked.

“Far, Wormhole,” the other party replied.

Oriental Chen’s mind buzzed.

This sentence was very clear; it was saying that there were other humans elsewhere, and they were very far from here. To get there, one needed to travel through a Wormhole.

That meant the knowledge they spoke of should be the technology for Wormhole travel.

“Can you create Wormholes?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Yes,” the other party replied.

Upon receiving confirmation from the other party, Oriental Chen was overjoyed.

He hadn't expected such a pleasant surprise from attacking Tasman.

“We can exchange, but there are conditions,” Oriental Chen said.

“What?” It was asking what conditions.

“Obey my commands,” Oriental Chen said.

“Obey,” the other party replied.

“Deal,” Oriental Chen readily agreed.

Oriental Chen ordered Xiao Lin to issue a command, telling the Bee Queen in Australia to stop attacking. Then he continued to ask:

“How are Wormholes created?”

“Requires reproduction,” the other Bee Queen replied.

This wasn’t negotiating conditions; it should mean that it couldn’t be done now and required continued reproduction.

“How long will it take?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Time,” the other party replied.

It seemed it didn’t understand the question.

“How much time?” Oriental Chen asked.

“83,” the Bee Queen answered.

“83? No unit?” Oriental Chen wondered.

First, it was certain that the 83 it mentioned was not a unit of time.

Years, months, days, minutes, seconds, hours—these time units are agreed upon by humans themselves; it’s impossible for them to use them.

Since it wasn’t a unit of time, what else could 83 represent?

Oriental Chen pondered for a long time and believed that 83 should refer to the number of times.

For them, what determined capability should be the number of iterations.

Combining this with what the Bee Queen said earlier about needing to reproduce, it wasn't difficult to deduce that they could update and replace themselves through reproduction.

And to master the technology of Wormhole creation, they still needed 83 iterations.

83 iterations, this time would certainly not be short.

“Can it be sped up?” Oriental Chen asked.

“Food,” the Bee Queen replied.

“I’ll give you food,” Oriental Chen said.

“Master,” the Bee Queen replied.

Her addressing him as ‘Master’ should convey two meanings: one is submission, and the other is gratitude.

Considering the context, she was primarily expressing gratitude here.

After ending the call, Monga asked:

“You don’t actually believe what these insects say, do you?”

“Of course. They’re just insects in their early developmental stages; how could they lie?” Oriental Chen replied as a matter of course.

“But what if they are lying?”

“Then we’ll just exterminate them when the time comes,” Oriental Chen replied.

“You’re thinking too simply. These insects are incredibly tenacious; completely eradicating them is extremely difficult. What if they evolve to sufficient strength and then suddenly rebel? Do you still have the confidence to eliminate them?” Monga asked.

“Yes. Haven’t the Sirius Remnants already set an example? We can just copy their homework, can’t we?” Oriental Chen said with a smile.

“Copy homework?”

“You mean, modify their genes?” Monga understood.

“Exactly. They are still in the early stages of iteration. As long as we modify the genes of the Bee Queen and her guard, implanting Trojan fragments, we won’t have to fear them rebelling.”

The Bee Queen and the guard are responsible for reproduction.

As long as their genes are modified, all their offspring will be modified.

“Then how will you modify them? It would be difficult to put them into a gene repair capsule, wouldn’t it?” Monga asked.

“Didn’t I say, copy the homework? How did the Sirius Remnants modify human genes?” Oriental Chen asked her in return.

“You mean using a virus?” Monga understood.

“Exactly.” Oriental Chen nodded.

“Xiao Lin, extract gene samples from the giant Tasman Ants’ corpses at the Australia base and map their gene sequences.”

“Understood, Commander.”

“Design a Trojan gene fragment that allows them to receive electromagnetic waves of a specific frequency through their antennae and unconditionally execute signal commands.”

“Understood, Commander.”

“Once the gene fragment is designed, then design a virus. This virus should not be pathogenic but can implant the Trojan gene fragment into their genes by interfering with the DNA transcription process. Oh, and by the way, the virus should preferably only be transmitted sexually.”

“Understood, Commander.”
