601: Chapter 601: Unexpected Discovery

“I know a bit. At that time, large-scale wars broke out among humans, and the ecosystem was severely damaged. Intense solar radiation caused Venus’s temperature to continuously rise, and most plants and animals gradually went extinct. Humanity’s final moments were spent underground, but due to a lack of resources, they all died out within a few years,” Monga simply stated.

“Did you personally witness the wars among humans, or record any related footage?” Oriental Chen asked.

“I originally did, all stored in the Mars database. However, the base was later damaged, and a lot of content was lost,” Monga said.

Dragon Three had mentioned that during the Nata Civilization period, Mars was hit by an asteroid, severely damaging most of the base, and only a tiny portion has been repaired to this day.

“Then tell me what you remember,” Oriental Chen said.

“I only saw these; see if they are useful,” Monga projected the images directly onto the large screen.

Super Artificial Intelligence robots like Monga have their advantages, but also their disadvantages.

Their way of perceiving things is actually by simulating humans.

This leads to her stored information being very fragmented, much like human memory.

This is very different from ordinary artificial intelligence.

How does ordinary artificial intelligence demonstrate intelligence? It requires vast amounts of data and countless training sessions. This is actually a form of pseudo-intelligence.

Like Xiao Lin, she understands everything that is in her database. If it’s not in her database, she knows nothing.

Why is it called pseudo-intelligence? Because the intelligence it displays is actually an efficient data processing process. Its creativity is very limited; it can disassemble and reorganize data, but it is difficult for it to achieve emergence.

What is emergence?

That is, creating something that does not exist in the database.

For example, if humans need to solve energy problems, can it independently develop controllable nuclear fusion?

No!

True intelligence, however, can emerge, or rather, inherently possesses the characteristic of emergence.

True intelligence can create new things.

Monga is this kind of emergent robot.

She can flexibly formulate strategies based on actual situations without human control.

But this leads to another problem: her stored data is not infinitely expandable. Even with the support of the Mars Main Base database, the data she can store and retrieve is limited.

Just like humans, she can remember recent events, and she can remember things from a long time ago, but she doesn't remember everything. Humans selectively remember some things and also ignore and clear out some things.

For example, you remember breaking a cup when you were little and getting a beating from your mom. But where was the cup placed at the time? Were there any other things around? What were they? You probably don't remember.

Therefore, Monga, as a Super Artificial Intelligence, also exhibited similar problems. She might retain some memories about Venus from a billion years ago, but they would certainly be very sparse and fragmented.

As expected.

Monga compiled the images onto the large screen, making Oriental Chen dizzy.

The center of the images showed some seeds, insects, and such, but the surroundings were either blurry and pixelated or completely black.

It was incredibly difficult to filter out anything useful.

“Monga, first pre-screen and filter out any footage that includes human living areas or human warfare,” Oriental Chen said, rubbing his eyes.

“Okay, let me think,” Monga cooperatively replied.

As Monga thought, something useful finally appeared on the large screen.

“Wait, go back to that overhead view from outside the atmosphere,” Oriental Chen suddenly glimpsed something familiar.

Monga returned to the previous image.

This was the scene she saw from within her spaceship during one of her arrivals at Venus.

At that time, Venus truly resembled the current Blue Star, with blue oceans, white clouds, and brownish-yellow land.

Oriental Chen’s attention focused on something within the clouds.

“Zoom in here,” Oriental Chen pointed to that something.

Monga magnified the image as requested.

“What is this?” Oriental Chen asked.

“This is a building,” Monga replied.

“Who built this building?” Oriental Chen asked.

“I didn’t notice,” Monga shook her head.

“Xiao Lin, check the database for any records regarding this,” Oriental Chen said.

The Mars Base had already authorized him access to the database, so Xiao Lin could directly query it.

“Commander, no relevant content was found,” Xiao Lin replied.

Oriental Chen had guessed as much; if Monga knew, she would have said so already.

Because two hours ago, India-Pakistan had built four such structures in the border city of Mordo.

The amount of information revealed here was enormous.

India-Pakistan, surprisingly, had some connection to Venus from a billion years ago!

Moreover, Monga was unaware of this.
