67: Chapter 67: Being fooled by the uneducated
“So that’s how it is. Since you’re looking for him, why don’t you just call him directly? Why are you still waiting here?” Oriental Chen continued to ask his questions.
He regretted asking as soon as the words left his mouth; his phone must be unusable.
“Our phones haven’t had a signal since we arrived, so we couldn’t get through. We only knew there was a tall wall in Binjiang Park, and inside the wall was a base. But we didn’t find it after we arrived,” Dai Litong said sadly.
Of course, they couldn't find it; the wall had already been destroyed.
But Ding Yuwen, that brat, didn't even mention it to him. He really deserved a beating!
“Young man, do you know where Yuwen is?” The big man asked anxiously.
“Uncle, I do. How about this, pack up your things, and I’ll take you there,” Oriental Chen said.
They originally wanted to bring all the things they had collected during this time, but Oriental Chen was in a hurry to leave, so he told them not to bring anything.
The three of them soon entered the base through the safe house.
“Wow, it’s quite big in here,” Dai Litong said.
“It’s alright. Come on, I’ll take you to see Ding Yuwen first. After that, I’ll arrange a place for you to stay.”
Oriental Chen led the two into the office.
He dialed a number and projected the call onto the large screen.
The call connected.
“Hello, Boss,” came Ding Yuwen’s voice from the other end.
“Brother!” Dai Litong cried out.
“Tongtong?” Ding Yuwen replied in surprise.
“Ding Yuwen, you brat, you really need a lesson! You didn’t even tell me about such a big matter. If I hadn’t gone out for a stroll and coincidentally met them, they probably wouldn’t have known how long they’d have to stay outside,” Oriental Chen scolded.
“Boss, I’m sorry. I just didn’t want to trouble you,” Ding Yuwen said awkwardly.
“Alright, in front of your Sister, I’ll give you some face. From now on, if you have something, just say it directly. Don’t play games with me,” Oriental Chen said.
“Yes, Boss!” Ding Yuwen responded.
“Yuwen, where are you?” The big man asked.
“Uncle Dai… I’m out on a mission,” Ding Yuwen said, choking up.
The big man looked at Oriental Chen.
Oriental Chen said:
“I’ll explain this to you slowly. You can use this satellite phone so it’s easier to contact. But be careful, try not to make calls actively.”
“Okay, thank you!” The big man replied.
After the call, Oriental Chen took the two to the living area, arranged their accommodation, and introduced them to everyone.
Everything was done by 2 PM.
Oriental Chen didn’t dare to wander around anymore. He drove the car he had hidden earlier and headed straight for Mos.
Mos, Suiyang Anbu
“Brother, you said Brother Dongfang was going to teach Boss Mei a lesson. What kind of lesson?” Luoer asked, hiding in a corner.
“That’s not the kind of lesson you’re thinking of. Don’t talk for now, just keep a close watch,” Shen Wengang replied softly.
They had received word from Oriental Chen two days ago, telling them to closely monitor Mei Wenhua’s movements. For two days, Mei Wenhua’s courtyard had been very quiet, and very few people went in or out. Luoer was already getting impatient.
As the sun was about to set, a car suddenly pulled up at the courtyard gate, with a Binjiang license plate.
It stopped, and one person got out—it was Oriental Chen.
“Brother, look, it’s Brother Dongfang!” Luoer said excitedly.
“I see him. Don’t shout! Be careful not to be discovered,” Shen Wengang reminded her.
“Oh oh oh!” Luoer hurriedly shut her mouth.
“Bang bang bang~” came the sound of knocking.
The door opened, and it was the same cute Sister from last time.
“Hello, who are you looking for?” The Sister asked.
“I’m looking for Boss Mei,” Oriental Chen said.
“Ah? Oh! What’s your name? I’ll go announce you,” the Sister asked.
“Just say my name is Niu Xingwang,” Oriental Chen said with a smile.
“Oh, okay, please wait,” the Sister closed the door again, not letting him in.
Oriental Chen stood at the door, winked at Shen Wengang’s direction, and then looked away.
“Brother Dongfang saw us!” Luoer said.
“Mm, don’t make a sound,” Shen Wengang continued to observe, reminding her.
“Oh!”
After a while, the door opened again, and the Sister let Oriental Chen in.
“Boss requesting communication…” Shen Wengang’s bone-conduction microphone rang.
He answered the call without speaking.
Oriental Chen’s purpose in connecting the call was also to let Shen Wengang eavesdrop and further understand the situation.
“Boss Niu, is that right? Hello, hello, I didn’t expect Boss Niu to be so young and handsome,” Mei Wenhua quickly came forward, happily shaking hands.
“Boss Mei truly has good judgment!” Oriental Chen said with a smile, shaking hands generously.
“Uh…” Mei Wenhua was at a loss for words. Could he not understand a humble remark? But he immediately followed up:
“Come, come, please have a seat!”
Dongfang strode into the hall, plopped down onto the sofa, and said:
“Hey, you! Yes, you! Go make a cup of tea, use Boss Mei’s best tea leaves.” Oriental Chen pointed at Rong Qingyi, the Young woman standing in the room.
The Young woman, seeing Oriental Chen call her, inexplicably glanced at Mei Wenhua.
Mei Wenhua was also displeased at this point, but he still gave her a look, signaling her to leave, then turned and said with a smile:
“Haha, apologies, my subordinates don’t understand the rules.”
“Boss Mei, I originally didn’t want to come to this shabby place of yours. But since you have the Red Coat Sect backing you, I still have to give you some face,” Oriental Chen bluffed.
“How did you know?” Mei Wenhua immediately stood up, startled, upon hearing this.
“Alright, looks like I guessed correctly,” Oriental Chen thought to himself.
