147: Chapter 147 Negotiating with Zong Zhengyue
“The Southeast Military Region must be having a tough time right now! It seems it’s time to get in touch with Zongzheng Yue,” Oriental Chen mused.
“Xiao Lin, use a virtual number to call Zongzheng Yue,” Oriental Chen said.
“Yes, Commander. Calling now…”
“Who is this?” The call connected, and a weary voice came from the other end.
“Commander Zong, a pleasure to meet you!” Oriental Chen said.
“Who are you?” Zongzheng Yue’s tone immediately turned cold.
“I am the mysterious person who has repeatedly provided you with information,” Oriental Chen said.
“What? It’s you!” Zongzheng Yue was startled.
“That’s right, it’s me. I’m calling Commander Zong today because I want to reveal some information to you,” Oriental Chen said unhurriedly.
“Why do you want to reveal information to me?” Zongzheng Yue immediately expressed suspicion.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch, nor are there good people for no reason.
“It’s merely mutually beneficial,” Oriental Chen said ambiguously.
“What do you want to say?” Zongzheng Yue understood and continued to ask.
“I believe the autonomy of the Settlement has some connection with the Suiyang Anbu,” Oriental Chen said.
“Suiyang Anbu? What’s your basis?” Zongzheng Yue wasn’t very familiar with this Suiyang Anbu.
“Just a guess,” Oriental Chen said.
“A guess? That reason probably doesn’t hold up, does it?” Zongzheng Yue questioned.
“Haha. Whether it’s a guess or not isn’t important. I have a way to verify this guess,” Oriental Chen laughed.
“What way?” Zongzheng Yue’s eyes lit up. He was almost worried to death and was in dire need of help.
“You can do this…” Oriental Chen explained his method.
After Zongzheng Yue finished listening, he didn’t speak for a long time.
Oriental Chen wasn’t in a hurry either; he sat in his Commander-in-Chiefs office, slowly waiting for him to digest.
“In that case, the Commander-in-Chiefs office might be ambushed,” Zongzheng Yue said after a moment of thought.
“Don’t worry, you wouldn’t think the Ultrasonic Emitter installed earlier is just for show, would you?” Oriental Chen prompted.
“Can the Ultrasonic Emitter also defend against human zombies?” Zongzheng Yue asked.
“Of course, it can,” Oriental Chen said.
“What if it’s not the Suiyang Anbu?” Zongzheng Yue continued to ask.
“What’s the harm in trying?” Oriental Chen said.
“Okay, I understand! Thank you!” Zongzheng Yue rarely said thank you.
After hanging up the phone, Zongzheng Yue recorded the incoming number and had a messenger send it to the information department for investigation, then began to deploy.
“Messenger, contact the Suiyang Anbu in Mozhou City and tell them that the Commander-in-Chiefs office will dispatch a special forces regiment directly under its command to be stationed at the Settlement tonight. Please ask them to make arrangements in advance and cooperate.”
“Yes!”
Mozhou City, Suiyang Anbu.
“Saint Emissary, the Southeast Military Region Command just called and said they would send troops to be stationed here tonight and asked us to cooperate. What should we do next?” the man asked.
“Ask other Settlements if they have received such a notice,” the Saint Emissary instructed.
“We’ve already asked some Settlements, and none of them have received such news,” the man replied.
The Saint Emissary frowned in thought.
“Saint Emissary, have they discovered something?” the man asked.
“Impossible, maybe it’s just a coincidence,” the Saint Emissary denied.
“But isn’t this too much of a coincidence?” The man was a little unsure. If the Military Region randomly chose one, why would it coincidentally pick his Settlement?
“Isn’t that just perfect? Leak the news to the other Settlements so everyone knows,” the Saint Emissary said.
“But what if this is a test from the other side? Wouldn’t we be giving ourselves away?” the man said hesitantly.
“What if it’s a test? Since autonomy has already been declared, do you still expect to go back to how things were?” the Saint Emissary retorted.
“That’s not it, I’m just worried they’ll think we’re behind all this,” the man explained.
“Without concrete evidence, do they dare to act? If they really do act, then I should thank them. From then on, everyone in the Settlement will feel insecure; wouldn’t that be a great benefit?” the Saint Emissary said.
“Alright!” The man could only agree.
…
So, not long after the news was released, many Settlements called.
A large portion of these were Settlements that had not declared autonomy.
They were all questioning the Commander-in-Chiefs office, asking why Settlements that had already declared autonomy were being sent troops for garrison, while they, who had not declared autonomy, received no support.
“Hmph! It seems this Suiyang Anbu has a huge problem!”
Zongzheng Yue slammed the table in anger after hearing the report.
“It’s simply blatant and extremely arrogant!”
After the Suiyang Anbu received the notification, they immediately spread the news. It was clear they had no scruples and were openly opposing the official authorities.
Zongzheng Yue also had to admire this mysterious person, not knowing how he guessed it.
“Messenger, go, call the Suiyang Anbu! Question them about why they leaked the news!” Zongzheng Yue continued to follow the plan.
“Yes!”
Five minutes later…
“Reporting, Commander, the person in charge of the Suiyang Anbu said they thought all Settlements had received the notification and did not intend to leak it,” the messenger reported.
