542: Chapter 542 As expected
"Fourteen years is too long; there are many things waiting for me to do outside," Oriental Chen expressed his concerns.
"You can handle them just as well here."
"You mean I can contact the outside world?" Oriental Chen was a little surprised.
"That's right, but it needs to be through our communication system, and only after the first gene repair is completed," the robot replied.
"How long will that take?"
"Three days."
"Three days?" Oriental Chen thought he had misheard.
This little guy just said two repairs would take 14 years, but one repair only takes 3 days?
"That's right. The repair process itself actually only takes three days. However, after the repair is complete, the human body's cells are still constantly metabolizing. A full metabolic cycle takes six to seven years, and this period requires continuous observation. During the observation period, however, you cannot leave here," the robot explained.
Oriental Chen understood.
This was out of concern that the repaired cells might be replaced by cells with additional DNA fragments.
However, it was too early to discuss these matters; everything had to wait for the test results.
"The test results are out," the robot said.
"How are they?"
"I regret to inform you that additional fragments were detected in your DNA."
"Alright, as expected." Oriental Chen was not surprised.
If the survivors of Sirius had been monitoring Blue Star for hundreds of millions of years, then almost everyone's DNA was probably already contaminated.
"Shall we begin then?" the robot suggested.
"My subordinates are still here. Can they be allowed to leave?" Oriental Chen asked.
"No, they cannot. I have an activity area here; they will be fine." The robot directly refused.
This was easy to understand; the robot could not take even the slightest risk.
Although the people outside did not know what had happened, this was the last usable base for the Dragon Country and absolutely could not be exposed.
"Alright, then I also need to make some arrangements to avoid causing panic." Oriental Chen was not being difficult.
"You may." The robot agreed.
Everyone who came here, without exception, had lost contact with the outside world.
So, no matter what he did, as long as he didn't leave here, there would be no problem.
Soon, with a flash of white light, Oriental Chen returned to the battleship.
"Commander! Are you alright?" Dai Zheng asked nervously.
"I'm fine. However, you might need to stay here for a while."
"Stay for a while? Are we being detained?" Dai Zheng didn't understand.
"Not exactly. There are some things here I need to figure out, and it might take some time." Oriental Chen did not explain in detail.
"I see! No problem then, we'll wait for you here." Dai Zheng didn't hesitate.
"Later, I will arrange for you to go to the activity area, but you need to be mentally prepared, as the waiting time will be quite long."
"How long will it take, approximately?"
"Around 14 years," Oriental Chen said.
"Fourteen... years?" Dai Zheng was stunned.
This is called 'a while'?
Dai Zheng calculated, and by the time it was over, he would be almost 60!
By then, let alone fighting, even carrying a gun would be difficult.
"Brother Dai, I know this is a long time. However, this matter is of great importance, and there is no other way. I apologize for the inconvenience!" Oriental Chen patted his shoulder.
"Commander, what are you saying? As long as you give the order, I will not hesitate!" Dai Zheng thumped his chest.
"Good! Later, when we get to the activity area, gather everyone. I'll hold a meeting," Oriental Chen instructed.
"Yes!"
Twenty minutes later, the robot moved all five battleships brought by Oriental Chen to a deck on the flying saucer.
The battleships opened, and everyone filed out.
The Special Operations Team members from the other four battles were still completely bewildered, having no idea what had happened.
"Fall in!" Dai Zheng shouted.
Upon hearing the command, the team members quickly assembled.
"Reporting, Commander! Special Operations Team members, 26 expected, 26 present, assembly complete. Awaiting your orders!" Dai Zheng shouted.
"At ease."
"Whoosh~"
In this confined underground space, their synchronized footsteps created echoes.
"Comrades, I'm sure you don't know what has happened yet. Now, I will explain in detail," Oriental Chen said loudly.
"The flying saucer beneath your feet is an ancient reconnaissance vessel left behind," Oriental Chen pointed to the deck.
"Its creators were none other than our ancestors of Huaxia," Oriental Chen dropped a bombshell.
The information he announced publicly was refined and adjusted, and many secrets would not be disclosed. The sole purpose was to reassure everyone and alleviate their concerns.
After all, they had to stay here for many years and could not leave. Without a clear explanation, it would be difficult to unify their thoughts.
The Special Operations Team members were all well-trained veterans and did not look around or whisper to each other. However, each of them was inwardly extremely shocked.
