11: Didi, let’s drive!

Once the idea of buying a car took root, Pan Han couldn't suppress it. After all, what man doesn't like driving, especially a luxury car? He had the means now, so he could definitely get one.

"Let's eat first; we'll look at cars tomorrow." Pan Han had been busy all day, and now, filling his stomach was the top priority.

Pan Han called a private car and headed straight for the spicy hotpot place downstairs from his home.

The car fare was 180, and the meal was 36. This was like riding a bicycle to a bar—save where you can, spend where you should.

After eating and drinking his fill, he returned to his shared apartment. Now, he was the only one in the room, which was very quiet and safe.

After returning from the apocalypse, this current environment gave Pan Han a great sense of comfort. Wasn't there an ancient saying: 'Better to be a dog in a prosperous age than a person in a chaotic one'? It truly made a lot of sense.

Pan Han put down his backpack, stripped completely, put his clothes into the washing machine, and then went to shower.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, the hot water from the showerhead streamed over Pan Han, making him feel even more at peace.

He showered for a full half hour, feeling that the smell of the apocalypse had mostly washed away, before finally coming out.

He put on his pajamas, lay down on the bed, and a wave of fatigue washed over him. He couldn't resist and drifted off to sleep.

He slept very soundly, all the way until 5:30 AM the next morning.

Pan Han slowly opened his eyes, stretched, and felt wonderfully comfortable.

Today, he planned to do two things: deliver supplies to the other world later; then, upon returning, find a place to sell two gold bars and buy a car.

Once decided, he wasted no time. He got dressed, put on his backpack, and double-checked that everything in his spatial storage was in order.

Thus, he once again transmigrated to the other world.

It was so cold! He hadn't felt this cold when he came before. Perhaps the morning temperature in the apocalypse was just like this. This time, he chose a new transmigration point, only 300 meters from the seven-person team's base. He felt that this distance wouldn't pose any safety issues.

Pan Han wrapped his clothes tighter, identified the direction, and walked towards the base.

After a few minutes, he saw the base gate.

On the gatehouse, figures were moving, likely the guards. It seemed these few people were quite cautious.

The person patrolling the gatehouse was Cheng Xiao. She vaguely saw a figure in the distance, and upon closer inspection, it was Pan Han. So she quickly climbed down and prepared to open the gate.

"You're here so early," Cheng Xiao asked while opening the gate.

"Aren't you awake too?" Pan Han retorted.

"I'm on duty today."

"Hmm, good. Staying vigilant is correct. Oh, by the way, do you have a truck?"

"We have one, parked in the backyard."

"Drive it out and follow me."

"What's going on?"

"Adult business; children shouldn't pry."

"Hmph. I'll go tell the boss and find someone to take my shift!"

"I'll wait for you at the gate."

Soon, Qin Zhong and Cheng Xiao came out.

"Lord Pan, you've arrived! I heard you want Cheng Xiao to drive the truck with you?"

"Yes, we'll be back soon. Don't worry."

"Alright, you two go, I'll stand guard."

"Alright, Boss." Cheng Xiao agreed and went to the backyard to get the truck.

"Can I drive this truck?" Pan Han asked.

Pan Han had a driver's license, but he had never bought a car, and now he had almost forgotten how to drive. This was a good opportunity to practice.

"Sure, wait until I get out first."

At the gate, Pan Han and Cheng Xiao swapped seats. He sat in the driver's seat. The cars in the other world were almost identical to those in Pan Han's universe. Operating it directly shouldn't be a big problem.

"Shift gears, release the handbrake, honk the horn, lift the brake, step on the accelerator, and go!" Pan Han's series of actions completely bewildered Cheng Xiao.

Are you practicing driving in the apocalypse?

"Are you… not good at driving?" Cheng Xiao asked.

"I got my license a long time ago, but I've never actually driven. I've almost forgotten everything," Pan Han answered honestly.

"Alright, where are you going?"

"A desolate place, a remote mountain wilderness, where no one would hear you even if you screamed your lungs out."

Cheng Xiao unconsciously tightened her seatbelt.

Rumble, rumble, rumble, the roar of the engine made Pan Han's adrenaline surge.

Anyway, there were no traffic rules in the apocalypse, and no fear of hitting anyone. So he just drove freely.

Pan Han would accelerate sharply, then brake suddenly, then make sharp turns. He was having a blast, but Cheng Xiao was suffering a bit. Fortunately, her physical fitness was excellent, otherwise she would have definitely thrown up.

After driving around for half an hour, Pan Han was finally satisfied. He found a dilapidated house and stopped.

"What are we doing here?" Cheng Xiao couldn't help but wonder, seeing the route he took.

"Put these on!" Pan Han handed Cheng Xiao a blindfold and a wireless earphone.

"What do you mean?" Cheng Xiao was a bit confused.

"You stand here and don't move; I'm going to buy some oranges!"

Cheng Xiao had a blank, confused look on her face. What did that mean?

Pan Han felt a little bored, realizing this meme didn't exist here. So he simply said he was going to retrieve supplies.

Upon hearing that Pan Han was going to retrieve supplies, Cheng Xiao had nothing more to say. She put on the blindfold and earphones.

These earphones were noise-canceling, effectively blocking out external sounds. Pan Han took out his phone and clicked play on his favorite song, "Little Apple." This way, Cheng Xiao could neither hear nor see. Pan Han could confidently retrieve supplies from his spatial storage.

There was a lot of stuff this time, and Pan Han didn't take it all out; he decided to only take half. Fortunately, the truck was big enough to hold half the supplies.

Retrieving supplies from the spatial storage only required a thought; the system could even help arrange the items neatly.

Looking at the truck full of supplies, Pan Han thought, this should be enough for them to eat for a while.

Pan Han watched Cheng Xiao, who was sitting in the passenger seat, obediently listening to music, even swaying slightly to the rhythm. He thought, to make the act complete, one song's time certainly wouldn't be enough to move all these supplies.

So Pan Han continuously played songs like "As You Wish," "One Hundred Years of Solitude," "Vulnerable Woman," "Wolf Legend," and "Ten Years" for Cheng Xiao.

These songs were vastly different from the style of the other world. Cheng Xiao listened enthralled. Pan Han quietly watched Cheng Xiao. The two of them seemed to forget time, forget the apocalypse, forget survival.

Who would have thought that a few days ago, I was still a heartbroken loser, and now I'm listening to music with a beautiful woman on an apocalypse morning? Pan Han felt a surge of emotion.

After about ten songs, Pan Han paused the playback.

Cheng Xiao took off her earphones and asked, "Are you done?"

"Yes, you can take off the blindfold now." Pan Han didn't want this scene to end, but even a moment of peace was already a luxury.

Cheng Xiao took off her blindfold and immediately turned her head to look at the cargo bed behind her.

She saw the truck's cargo bed completely filled with supplies.

"Hiss!" Cheng Xiao gasped.

"You found all this?" Cheng Xiao asked.

"Otherwise?"

"How do you have so many supplies?" The usually aloof Cheng Xiao couldn't help but show her excitement, her joy evident on her face.

"I have my ways," Pan Han quipped.

Cheng Xiao ignored him, quickly got out of the truck, went to the cargo bed, opened a cardboard box, and found lunch meat. She opened another box, which contained compressed biscuits, and then another, which held self-heating rice.

Oh my god! You're not Lord Pan, you should be my dad! Cheng Xiao was utterly shocked!
