410: Only a small piece of meat is left

Pan Han was full of questions. Even a small-time transmigrator like him wanted to unify the world.

How could the Twelve Palaces, having roamed the apocalypse for years and controlling the most resources, have never thought of this?

Is this scientific?

Is this reasonable?

Unless...

Could it be that the Twelve Palaces were similar to the Knight Order? An underground organization?

But Pan Han thought about it again; something was wrong. Did they even need to operate underground here?

Wasn't it whoever was strongest who became the government?

"Brother-in-law, you don't need to overthink it. Just do what you want to do. Anyway, the world is already like this; could it get any worse?"

Seeing Pan Han silent, Mo Li patted his shoulder, then stood up and said, "I should go, too. Don't look for me in the next few days."

"Alright, Brother-in-law."

Pan Han saw Mo Li off and, having nothing to do, continued to meditate.

It wasn't until the seventh day, the day Ellie was scheduled to be delivered, that Pan Han woke from his meditation.

Several days of cultivation had improved his state of mind again, allowing him to welcome the brand-new Ellie with a calm attitude.

That afternoon, Xiao Wang came to knock on the door, his face full of congratulations when he saw Pan Han.

"Lord Pan, great news! The cloning of Ellie was perfect, and even her previous illnesses have all been repaired."

"Oh? That is certainly worth celebrating. When can we go take a look?"

Pan Han stepped aside to welcome Xiao Wang in.

"It's already done; they're just doing the final adjustments." Xiao Wang was even a bit excited, rubbing his hands together constantly.

Pan Han motioned for him to sit down, then pretended to take cigarettes and chocolate out of his pocket and stuffed them into Xiao Wang's hands.

"Xiao Wang, how long will the final adjustments take?"

"Half an hour is enough. I'll take you over in a bit."

"Very good! Thank you, Xiao Wang. And thank you all."

"You're welcome! It's mainly because Ms. Ellie's physical condition was so good. You could say it was close to perfect."

The more Xiao Wang spoke, the more excited he became, continuously telling Pan Han about the cloning process.

Half an hour passed quickly. Pan Han pursed his lips and whispered, "Ellie, I've come to pick you up."

Xiao Wang took his walkie-talkie, asked a few questions, nodded at Pan Han, and then led him off.

After walking about a hundred meters, they arrived in front of a large iron door.

Xiao Wang swiped a card, and the two entered.

After entering, there was actually a hint of floral fragrance, and then a wall with a huge piece of glass embedded in the center came into view.

Pan Han walked up to the glass and saw a hospital bed and some instruments inside; the lights had been dimmed.

A woman wearing thin hospital clothes lay on the bed.

Pan Han's throat moved, he blinked, but finally managed to steady his emotions.

Ellie had been resurrected!

Pan Han opened his spiritual sense and could feel her aura; it was that familiar scent.

Pan Han didn't speak, his gaze unable to leave her for even a moment.

Ellie's breathing was steady, her chest rising and falling rhythmically.

The minor scars she had before were now gone.

The skin on her face was also better than before, as if she had recovered to the age of eighteen, delicate enough to be broken by a blow.

"Lord Pan, you can go in now. I'll wait outside," Xiao Wang said softly.

Pan Han nodded, pushed open the door next to the glass, and slowly entered the room.

He came to Ellie's side; her expression was relaxed, her breathing even, as if she were asleep.

Pan Han gently stroked Ellie's forehead—it was very warm—then moved to her cheek, and finally let out a long sigh of relief.

"Don't worry, I won't lose you this time."

In the dim light, Pan Han waited quietly for Ellie to wake up.

He didn't know how much time had passed when Ellie finally opened her eyes slowly.

"I..." She gave a soft moan, only able to say one word.

Pan Han immediately appeared in her line of sight.

Ellie looked ahead, a blurry figure appearing.

She couldn't see clearly who it was, but the feeling was very familiar.

"Is... is... it you?" Ellie managed to say a complete sentence.

The figure nodded, and a familiar voice reached Ellie's ears: "It's me!"

It really was this man!

"What... what... happened to me?" Ellie's heart trembled. She only remembered a loud noise in the submarine; she didn't remember anything after that.

"Ellie, I'm Pan Han. Don't rush to speak; you're still in the process of waking up!" Pan Han held Ellie's hands, and a surge of strength flowed into her heart.

"I'm waking up?" Ellie didn't quite understand what that meant, but she followed Pan Han's advice, stopped talking, and instead tried hard to move her eyes, wanting to restore her vision first.

After a minute or so, Ellie could distinguish that the person in front of her was Pan Han, but it was still a bit blurry, as if she had 500 degrees of myopia.

Yet, tears flowed out uncontrollably.

She never imagined that the first person she saw upon waking up would be Pan Han.

Ellie exerted a little force; her hand movements were relatively free, and she gave Pan Han a response.

Pan Han nodded and kissed Ellie on the forehead.

Another minute passed before her vision returned to normal.

It was him!

Tears filled her eyes, and Pan Han quickly smiled and wiped them for her.

"Ellie, I'm late."

The sentence felt like crossing ten thousand years to reunite with a lover.

Ellie really wanted to get up and hug Pan Han tightly, but her body couldn't move freely yet, so she could only grip Pan Han tightly with both hands.

The two didn't speak anymore, looking at each other full of love.

As time passed, Ellie's body movements became more and more free, and she finally used all her strength to hug Pan Han.

"Don't speak, I'm afraid this is a dream." Ellie kissed Pan Han's cheek and whispered.

Pan Han wanted to tell her, but the words were swallowed back.

"You actually have temperature; it seems I'm not in hell or heaven."

"Oh! I actually have a sense of pain; it seems I'm not in a dream either."

Pan Han smiled without saying a word; this girl was actually testing it one by one.

Sure enough, after seven or eight times, Ellie pushed Pan Han away and glared at him: "I'm actually still alive!!!"

Pan Han nodded, but immediately said: "To be precise, you've been resurrected."

"Resurrected? Does that mean I was really blown to death before?"

"Yes. When I found you, there was only a small piece of flesh left."

Pan Han didn't tell the truth, just held up a small finger, gesturing the size.

"Pfft!" Seeing Pan Han describe it like that, Ellie let out her first laugh since being resurrected.

She was so beautiful! It seemed she was even more beautiful than before!

The Twelve Palaces' craftsmanship deserved a compliment!

Pan Han looked at Ellie's flawless cheeks and didn't know what to say.

"Wait a minute. If it was only a small piece of flesh, how did you know it was mine?" This was the first time Ellie used her brain after being resurrected!

Pan Han looked at her confused expression and couldn't get enough of it!

"Heh, you little girl, is there any piece of flesh on you that I don't recognize?" Pan Han gently tapped her forehead.

In an instant, Ellie blushed from her face to her neck, and she couldn't even refute it.

Whatever this man said was right!

"Pan Han?" Suddenly, Ellie asked, looking up.

"Hmm?" Pan Han was a bit puzzled, not knowing why she wanted to call his name.

"Hello boss, I'm the second female lead of this show!" Ellie's eyes swirled, her apricot lips parted slightly.

Pan Han suddenly remembered that this was the first sentence Ellie said when she met him.

"Hello Ellie, I'm the boss of this show!"

After speaking, the two looked at each other and smiled.
