134: The Secret of Mecha

As soon as Pan Han heard Old Eight tell him to exert himself, his thoughts shifted slightly, and he immediately entered extreme speed mode.

The engine on the back of the mecha adjusted its angle, emitting a faint blue flame, ready for acceleration.

With a roar, the mecha Pan Han suddenly accelerated with 10G of force.

"Roar, roar! Thrilling!" Pan Han shrieked in the sky. This G-force was within his comfort zone, and his body felt very little burden.

Ordinary people can withstand 3-6 Gs of acceleration, while trained pilots can reach up to 9-10 Gs.

However, no one can maintain a clear mind for an extended period at 10G.

Bang! With a loud bang, the mecha broke the sound barrier, exceeding the speed of sound.

"Master, the current speed is Mach 1!" Old Eight's voice reverted to that of Uncle Cheng, the middle-aged man.

"Keep going!"

"Master, the current speed is Mach 2!"

"Keep going!"

"Master, the current speed is Mach 3!"

"Keep going!"

"Understood, Master. We need to increase altitude now, otherwise, it will be difficult to increase speed. Requesting ascent to 40,000 meters."

"Let's go, baby!" Pan Han saw the clouds below whizzing past at an extremely fast rate through the screen.

Upon receiving the command, the mecha made a slow adjustment, changing from horizontal flight to vertical ascent.

Soon, it reached an altitude of 40,000 meters. The mecha then switched back to horizontal acceleration.

"Mach 4! Mach 5! Mach 6! Mach 7!" Old Eight reported the speed rapidly.

At this moment, Pan Han was suddenly stunned!

Because he saw the bright sun and the incredibly clear blue sky.

Since the apocalypse began, the sky in his memory had always been a hazy gray, and the sun was always a small disc covered by gauze.

"So, this world is so beautiful!"

"Mach 8! Mach 9! Mach 10! Master, shall we continue?" Old Eight asked.

"How fast can you fly at your fastest?" If he kept flying like this, the experience would be similar, so Pan Han thought it was enough.

"I can fly up to Mach 20 for 10 hours continuously."

"Mach 20! That's equivalent to 6,860 meters per second, or 2.47 million kilometers per hour. That's enough! This speed is already half of the first cosmic velocity. If I were to travel back to my world, I could dance with penguins in Antarctica in the morning and be in Zibo for a barbecue in the time it takes to take a dump." Pan Han thought to himself.

"Alright, stop accelerating. Let's head back to Dawn Base." Pan Han had played enough and turned directly back.

"Understood, Master!" Old Eight's voice changed back to that of an older sister.

"Old Eight, you are a fourth-generation mecha. Is there a fifth generation?" On the way back, Pan Han had nothing to do, so he chatted with Old Eight.

"Replying to Master, it is currently under development."

"Oh? The fourth generation is already so powerful, what will the fifth generation evolve into?"

"Flying out of the planet is no problem."

"Holy crap, then wouldn't it be possible to go to the moon?"

"No problem."

"What about weapons? Are there any improvements?"

"The main improvement is in the laser cannon. The fourth-generation mecha can fire energy cannons that can destroy boulders, which is equivalent to the power of a 155mm howitzer. The fifth-generation laser cannon can destroy a destroyer with a single shot."

"Then wouldn't that be equivalent to a miniature nuclear weapon?"

"Exactly, a tactical nuclear weapon with a yield of around 1,000 tons."

Upon hearing this, Pan Han instantly felt that this set was no longer as appealing. With just these two improvements, it could already dominate the planet.

"Master, Old Eight believes that the most important improvement is the increase in defensive power." The older sister-like Old Eight continued to explain.

"Oh?"

"The fourth-generation mecha relies solely on its outer shell material for defense against attacks. It can withstand direct hits from 20mm autocannons, but anything larger is a problem. By the fifth generation, there will be active defense, with many small laser cannons around the mecha. Whether it's missiles or shells, as long as they attack, they will be automatically destroyed." The older sister-like Old Eight said proudly, as if praising her own child.

"Holy crap! High attack, thick health, maxed out agility! This is too heaven-defying." Pan Han couldn't help but exclaim.

"Hehe, thank you for your praise, Master."

"Is there really no downside?" Pan Han didn't quite believe that there was anything perfect in this world. It wasn't scientific!

"The only downside is that it's expensive!" Old Eight admitted honestly.

"Alright. That's not the mecha's flaw, that's our flaw as ordinary people!" When Old Eight said that, Pan Han felt it was very scientific.

"Don't be sad, Master. You'll definitely have a chance to get one." The loli-like Old Eight comforted Pan Han.

"I'm not sad. Even the most expensive machines serve humans! Don't you agree, Old Eight?" Pan Han said coldly.

"Master is right!" Old Eight suddenly switched to a cold, mechanical voice.

Pan Han sensed something was off, but didn't think much of it. Instead, he continued to ask:

"Old Eight, what is the company that produces you?"

"Master, I only know it's called Umbrella Corporation. Other information is unclear. I do not have access permissions."

"Umbrella? What a tongue-twisting name. Why does it sound so familiar?" Pan Han wondered. It did seem like he had heard it somewhere, but he just couldn't remember.

"One more question, why does your company keep upgrading mechas? They're already very strong now! It's complete overkill against zombies."

"Master, this question is very serious. The company is actually forced to upgrade." The older sister-like Old Eight appeared again.

"What do you mean?"

"Because zombies are evolving, and beasts are also evolving. Creatures capable of defeating fourth-generation mechas have already appeared."

"Oh, my goodness!" Pan Han was greatly shocked when he heard this!

Pan Han thought that with the fourth-generation mecha, he would be invincible! He didn't expect there were even more powerful beings!

"What kind of world is this, anyway!" Pan Han let out a helpless sigh.

He had previously read Buddhist scriptures, which spoke of the six paths of reincarnation. Now, it looked particularly like a combination of the Asura path and the hell path.

"Don't be discouraged, Master. I will help Master defeat them!" The loli-like Old Eight spoke with a tender yet firm voice.

"Forget it, let's not talk about this for now. Let's land, I have other things to do." Pan Han didn't want to delve deeper. Anyway, he hadn't encountered these terrifying guys yet.

No need to avoid death! Whether I live or die, I'll face it head-on!

Whatever monster you are, just come.

"Okay, Master. Landing in 10 seconds." The loli-like Old Eight replied.

"Brother, Commander is back. Why is the mecha so dirty? It looks like it's been burned." Old Six heard a roar, and upon closer inspection, the mecha Pan Han had already landed steadily in the backyard.

"He probably did some high-speed maneuvers." Qin Zhong patted Old Six.

Pan Han ignored everyone and walked directly to the small room on the second floor while still wearing the mecha.

After entering the room, he stepped out of the mecha, looked at his watch, and realized it was time to cross over.

"What happens when I don't need you?" Pan Han turned and asked.

"Master, I will just stand here. You can choose standby mode or shutdown mode. In standby mode, I can be activated at any time. In shutdown mode, you need to press the switch to activate me." Old Eight truthfully replied.

"Alright, shut down!" Pan Han wanted to put it into his space, and shutting it down would be safer.

"Understood, Master. Old Eight is about to shut down. Goodbye!" As soon as he finished speaking, the mecha automatically closed, and its eyes dimmed.

Pan Han patted the mecha, but couldn't tell if it was truly shut down. He could only trust Old Eight.

"Alright, it's time to go back." Pan Han tidied his clothes, put the mecha into his space, and initiated the Crossing (crossing over).

Space rippled, and Pan Han disappeared.
