286: Uncle Cheng collapsed
Ten minutes later, Pan Han placed a large bowl of instant noodles, with an egg and some greens, in front of Ellie.
"Eat."
"Thank you, Leader." With a thud, Ellie immediately knelt on the ground.
"Don't call me Leader outside, call me Boss." Pan Han frowned and helped her up.
"Sorry, Boss." Ellie stuck out her tongue in embarrassment.
"Eat." After Pan Han finished speaking, he returned to his room. He felt that if he stared at Ellie, she definitely wouldn't be able to eat.
Sure enough, after Pan Han closed the door, he heard slurping sounds, and even a slight sob.
The Leader personally cooked noodles—for the first time in the Knight Order's hundreds of years!
Ellie ate with tears streaming down her face. She really wanted to tell everyone that the Leader had cooked noodles for her!
Two packets of noodles, one egg, and a few greens—Ellie ate every last bit, not even leaving any soup.
After eating, she quickly went to wash the dishes.
Pan Han heard the sound and came out of his bedroom.
"You take the key and go over there later. I have something to do, so I'm leaving first." With that, Pan Han went downstairs and left directly. He was going to see Uncle Cheng.
"Yes, Boss." Ellie immediately stopped washing dishes, turned around, and bowed respectfully to Pan Han.
Power truly is a good thing!
Otherwise, a person like him, even with his current net worth, wouldn't be able to make a woman like Ellie so respectful towards him!
Pan Han got into the car, took out the golden staff from his spatial ring, and played with it in his hand.
Aside from being heavy, this thing wasn't fun, nor was it even good-looking.
"In the apocalypse, it wouldn't even buy a slice of bread." He casually tossed it onto the passenger seat, and Pan Han drove straight to the trading villa.
Uncle Cheng was already waiting for him there.
He had been having a terrible headache for the past two days, his eyelids were twitching uncontrollably, and he felt an indescribable sense of unease.
This situation hadn't occurred in over ten years, and Uncle Cheng felt very unwell!
An hour later, Pan Han appeared at the trading villa.
This time, the two went to the tea room, which Pan Han specifically requested.
"Xiao Pan, what's the situation today? Not trading gold anymore?" Uncle Cheng skillfully brewed tea and handed Pan Han a cup of Dahongpao.
"Thank you, Uncle Cheng. I'm here today to tell you something." Pan Han took a sip of tea.
"Oh? Is it about the potion? Don't worry about that, it's definitely progressing as planned."
"Take a look at this." Pan Han took out the golden staff from his back waistband and placed it in front of Uncle Cheng.
"Ah!!! This is..." Upon seeing the staff, Uncle Cheng was dumbfounded, his scalp tingling!
Although he had never seen the Leader in person, he had seen the staff!
And he would never forget it.
This was the holy relic of the Knight Order; seeing this staff was like seeing the Leader himself.
When the old Leader handed it over to Pan Han, the two chatted and laughed as if this item was dispensable.
But for ordinary members, or those who had left the organization, the golden staff represented supreme power!
How could this thing be in Pan Han's hands??
Exaggerated!
Shocking!
It's just ridiculous!
Uncle Cheng's legs trembled uncontrollably, and his body slid down from the sofa, landing on the floor.
"You, you didn't kill your way into the organization's headquarters, did you?" Uncle Cheng asked tremblingly.
This golden staff was inseparable from the Leader. There was only one possibility for Pan Han to obtain it: he killed the Leader.
"I did go to the headquarters and met the Leader." Pan Han chuckled inwardly, seeing an old hand like Uncle Cheng react this way to the staff.
Mortals are, after all, mortals!
"Ah? What did you do to the Leader?" Uncle Cheng was greatly alarmed; he hadn't expected Pan Han to admit it so frankly.
"He's dead!" Pan Han said.
"Ah???" Upon hearing this, Uncle Cheng's eyes lost focus, his body twitched violently, and the look in his eyes towards Pan Han became utterly terrified.
"Don't worry. I am now the new Leader, appointed by the old Leader." Pan Han didn't need to release his pressure at this moment; with just one sentence, he could make Uncle Cheng prostrate himself.
Uncle Cheng was already prostrate on the ground, not daring to look directly at Pan Han.
Although he had been out of the organization for many years, the power of the words 'Leader' made him unable to do anything but prostrate himself.
His scalp tingled, and his mind was blank!
The mysterious Leader, who had existed for hundreds of years, actually passed his position to Pan Han?
It was completely illogical, utterly impossible!
"Uncle Cheng, real name Cheng Dongliang, age 55, joined the Knight Order at 25, retired at 45. Level 18, captain of the third team of the Dragon Country Base's Action Department. Nicknamed 'Your Life for 3000'. Responsible for over 500 deaths, and over 8 family annihilations." Before coming, Pan Han had already checked Uncle Cheng's information.
He hadn't expected Uncle Cheng to have been so ruthless before.
But now, Uncle Cheng appeared to be a harmless, capable old man, even somewhat benevolent.
Who would have thought he carried so many lives on his hands?
Especially those few instances of family annihilation, where he even killed a dozen children.
As Pan Han recited this information, he did so unhurriedly, and Uncle Cheng twitched with each small segment he heard.
By the time the entire segment was read, Uncle Cheng was soaked and sweating profusely, his mind on the verge of collapse.
These memories, he had painstakingly sealed away for a full decade.
He often dreamed of those he had killed, chasing him for their lives, especially the children, all bleeding from their seven orifices, chasing him and asking for candy.
Now, with Pan Han unceremoniously and mercilessly laying it all bare, Uncle Cheng's mental pressure was imaginable.
"Xiao Pan, oh no! Leader, please don't read anymore." He exerted all his strength to squeeze out a single sentence.
"You're not part of the organization anymore, so you don't need to call me Leader. Calling me Xiao Pan is more appropriate." Pan Han was somewhat surprised by the immense power of this information.
"Yes, yes, yes! I'll listen to Xiao, Xiao, Xiao Pan!" Uncle Cheng hesitated a few times, but ultimately followed Pan Han's command.
Although he had been out of the organization for many years, the fear in his heart when facing the Leader was self-evident.
Now, with just a word from Pan Han, Uncle Cheng could vanish into thin air, and even the entire Wang Corporation could be annihilated!
Pan Han's current status was not entirely the same as that of a Big Leader.
Uncle Cheng had met many Big Leaders; while they were very authoritative, they wouldn't casually target a well-known domestic pharmaceutical group, nor would they casually kill people; they generally adhered to rules.
But the Leader of the Knight Order could disregard any rules and decide the life or death of most people based solely on his mood.
"The old Leader has passed away, and he passed his position to me. Uncle Cheng, you've helped me a lot before, and you were also in the organization, so I don't want to hide it from you. Please get up." Seeing Uncle Cheng in such a state, Pan Han felt a bit of pity and leaned down to help him up.
Uncle Cheng stood up fearfully, no longer daring to sit down, standing rigidly like a primary school student.
"Uncle Cheng, you don't need to be so nervous. Just keep it confidential. Not many people know my identity."
"Yes!" Uncle Cheng immediately stood at attention, as if he had been re-energized, looking at Pan Han with firm eyes.
Uncle Cheng seemed to recall his days in the Knight Order; twenty years of training and operations had ingrained muscle memory in him, causing him to immediately respond upon hearing commands from a higher-ranking Leader.
Some things, once experienced, can never be shaken off a lifetime!
