89: Staring from a distance

The person on the other end of the monitor was Uncle Cheng. He had just checked the hospitalization records and found Pan Han in the hallway surveillance.

So he started adjusting the camera to observe Pan Han.

He never expected that in the ATM lobby, as soon as he turned the camera towards Pan Han, he would be discovered.

That's right, this was the long-lost martial arts technique—the Glare from Afar!

Pan Han's gaze was like an icy dagger, piercing through the camera's glass and lens, then through the wires, directly into Uncle Cheng's heart.

"Holy crap, what a powerful aura." Uncle Cheng had been involved in both the underworld and the legitimate world for many years and was very knowledgeable. After Pan Han stared at him, he felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave, and couldn't help but shiver.

This feeling was as if he wasn't observing from the shadows, but rather being studied by Pan Han under a microscope.

Uncle Cheng couldn't help but take two steps back, his gaze moving away from the monitor, and rubbed his eyes.

He couldn't believe there was such a person in this world!

After a few seconds, Uncle Cheng slowly moved back to the monitor and found Pan Han staring at the camera with interest.

The two of them looked at each other across the distance.

Pan Han could feel that the other party had just flinched, and a sneer appeared on his lips.

"Killing intent!" Uncle Cheng broke out in a cold sweat again and couldn't move. It was like a village dog seeing a tiger.

Exaggerated!

Terrifying!

Just ridiculous!

Uncle Cheng quickly turned around and slumped into the chair.

After a long time, he tremblingly took out a cigarette and tremblingly lit it.

After taking a puff, his mind went blank, as if he had survived a disaster, staring blankly and motionless.

It wasn't until the cigarette burned his fingers that he woke up and quickly threw away the butt.

Looking at the monitor again, Pan Han was already gone.

"I must report to Old Master Wang immediately!" After Uncle Cheng recovered, this was the first thing he thought of.

He left the monitoring room, found a private room, locked the door, and then dialed Old Master Wang's number.

"Hello, Uncle Cheng! What's up?" Old Master Wang saw it was Uncle Cheng calling and slurped down a mouthful of noodles.

"Old Master Wang, is it convenient to talk?" Uncle Cheng's tone was a bit nervous.

Old Master Wang heard this and knew it was something important, so he lowered the phone volume to prevent Wang Doudou from hearing.

"Convenient, speak."

"I'm at the hospital. This kid is very strange."

"Oh? How so?"

"He has killing intent."

"Hmm, I see. Continue." Old Master Wang had been in the martial arts world for decades; the bigger the matter, the calmer he became, basically able to show no emotion.

"I just adjusted the surveillance to track him, and he seemed to notice he was being tracked, staring at the camera from afar. I instantly couldn't move, my whole body was cold, and a wave of killing intent enveloped me from a distance." Uncle Cheng was a bit afraid to recall the scene just now, but he forced himself to describe it.

"Oh? There's such a thing. Didn't you notice it before?" Old Master Wang knew that Uncle Cheng was also a decisive and ruthless person, so for him to give such a high evaluation, it showed that Pan Han was indeed extraordinary.

"The previous two transactions, I didn't notice. It means he controls his aura with ease."

"It's getting more and more interesting."

"I suspect he has more than one life on his hands!"

"You come back first. I'll wait for you in the wine cellar at home."

"Alright, Old Master Wang."

Wang Cheng hung up the phone and headed straight for the underground garage, driving towards Old Master Wang's villa.

"What's up, Dad?" Wang Doudou was beside him, not hearing anything unusual, so she casually asked.

"Your Uncle Cheng has something to report to me; he'll be here soon. After we finish eating, you can go do your own thing." Old Master Wang slurped another mouthful of noodles.

"Oh, okay."

"Daughter, how are the noodles tonight?"

"They're delicious. Your cooking hasn't gotten worse."

"Alright, Dad will get you another bowl."

...

Pan Han knew that Uncle Cheng was trembling from his stare, because for a while, there was no one on the other end of the camera.

Because Pan Han had killed many people and zombies, he had gradually accumulated a lot of killing intent. However, since he had completed his evolution, he controlled these auras with ease.

"It's not tonight that I'll deal with you. It's just a pity that this path to monetization might be cut off." Pan Han took the money and walked towards the ward, deep in thought along the way.

"It seems I missed some crucial clue. But I can't remember it." He shook his head; the closer something was to being remembered, the easier it was to forget.

"What could it be?"

Thus, thinking and walking, he soon returned to the ward.

At the door, Pan Han adjusted his mood and emotions, not wanting his family to notice anything.

"I'm back! How's the battle going for you all?" Pan Han entered casually and headed straight for the mahjong room.

"Son, you're finally back! Xiaoli has lost all her money. Haha, this girl is too good at 'lighting up the cannons' (losing and paying)." His mother saw Pan Han return and quickly waved him in.

"What? You lost all 5,000 yuan?" Pan Han pretended to be very surprised.

"I told you I don't know how to play," Yan Xiaoli winked at Pan Han.

"This wasteful old woman!" Pan Han also played along, feigning anger.

"Alright, alright, son, your skill isn't that great either. If you ask me, let's stop here for today." His mother didn't realize Pan Han was faking anger and quickly smoothed things over.

"Yes, we've been traveling all day, everyone's tired, let's rest early," Second Aunt echoed.

She had just won several thousand and was already too embarrassed to win more.

Pan Han also went along with it, saying that they should stop here and prepare to rest.

"Son, there's no place for you to sleep here. Why don't you take Xiaoli back?" His mother patted the back of Pan Han's head, her eyes full of hints, as if saying, 'Seize the opportunity.'

"Okay, I'll come back tomorrow. You all rest well." Pan Han felt it was reasonable and agreed.

"I'm sorry, President Pan, I lost all your money. How can I repay you?" Yan Xiaoli joked with a smile.

"I'll deduct it from your salary," Pan Han said earnestly.

"Hmm, you're quite good at deducting!" Yan Xiaoli teased him, then turned to Pan Han's mother and said,

"Auntie, look, I'm working for such a black-hearted boss, I'm going to be unlucky!" Yan Xiaoli clung to Pan Han's mother's arm, acting spoiled.

"It's okay, I'll make him raise your salary. If he dares to deduct your salary, I'll beat him."

"Yay! Long live Auntie!" Yan Xiaoli happily kissed Pan Han's mother.

This action was nothing in a big city, but in a small county town, it seemed too unrestrained, making everyone laugh out loud.

"This child!" His mother was also very happy, then quickly urged them to go back, otherwise it would be too late.

"Let's go, President Pan, take me home." Yan Xiaoli linked arms with Pan Han, said goodbye to everyone, and walked out.

"Did you two talk about something just now? Why do I feel the atmosphere is off since I came back?" Pan Han pinched Yan Xiaoli's waist, telling her to confess.

"It's just your mother, she kept asking me questions."

"What did she ask you?"

"She asked what our relationship was. She asked what I do."

"What did you say?"

"I just said we were roommates, and now I'm working for you, planning to start a film and television company."

"Then why do you two seem to have suddenly become much closer? Did my mom say something silly to you?" Pan Han vaguely felt his mother was about to acknowledge a daughter-in-law.

"Well, you can go ask Auntie yourself. I'm not saying anything anyway." Yan Xiaoli let go of Pan Han's arm, put her hands behind her back, and walked ahead by herself.

"Sigh, women are all troublesome." Pan Han shook his head and followed her.
