400: You're the only ones with submarines?
The seawater had already risen to Pan Han's chest, forcing him to leave the submarine and step onto the adjacent platform.
His mind was filled with only one thing: Ellie's words, "I'm already carrying your child!"
Through the azure seawater, the black submarine slowly started up.
Ellie slumped onto the floor beneath the hatch, while the bodyguards behind her stared at her, dumbfounded.
The seawater was rushing in faster and faster, and the platform was no longer safe to stand on. Pan Han had no choice but to retreat to the entrance, yet his gaze never left the submarine.
Thinking back to the few months since he had met Ellie, they had been intimate many times, never once using contraception.
In that light, the probability of Ellie being pregnant was extremely high.
Pan Han remained in a daze, unable to snap out of it for a long time!
He waved stiffly at the submarine, watching it leave, while a new question occupied his mind.
Just over half a year ago, he had only just graduated, and now he was going to be a father?
In two worlds, he had several women, and as long as he wished, he could have even more. Was he fit to be a father?
There was also an entire world that needed him to save it. Was he suitable to be a father right now?
...
Clang!
The entrance door was shut tight. A hint of tenderness appeared in Pan Han's eyes, yet it was also incredibly resolute.
"Wait for me to come back!"
Pan Han returned to the villa to re-equip himself, this time adding a steel helmet to his gear.
Meanwhile, the small submarine was speeding toward the Dragon Kingdom, targeting a mysterious military port.
"Miss Ellie, do you know what you just said?" a bodyguard asked as he helped Ellie up.
"I know!" Ellie wiped away her tears and glanced once more in the direction of Knight Island.
"You actually lied to the Cult Leader? Do you know what kind of sin that is?" The bodyguard's tone was gentle, but his words were incredibly serious.
"I know! I am willing to accept the punishment!"
"Are you crazy? Why did you specifically use that lie to deceive the Cult Leader? All female assassins in our Knight Order have been sterilized; your lie is too clumsy."
"I'm not crazy. I just wanted to give him a reason to survive!"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't understand the Cult Leader well enough. You'll understand later!"
At this moment, Ellie and the four remaining bodyguards stood like five statues inside the submarine cabin.
"Mmph! Mmph!" Ayaka Kurai made sounds, her body swaying incessantly.
Ellie was the first to react. She looked at her companions, and the bodyguards nodded.
Ellie walked over and untied all the restraints except for those on her hands.
Ayaka Kurai slowly opened her eyes, taking over a minute to gradually adjust to the light inside the cabin.
"Tsk, tsk! As expected of the Knight Order! You even have a submarine." After saying her first sentence, Ayaka Kurai kept squirming her arms.
"Miss Ellie, could you help me light a cigarette?"
"Your cigarettes are probably poisoned, aren't they?"
"How could that be? I only prepared two poisoned cigarettes. I used them both on your boss! It's strange, though—why was he fine?" Ayaka Kurai pouted, looking quite disappointed.
"Insolent! You actually dared to poison the Cult Leader!" Another bodyguard, unaware of what had happened earlier, immediately wanted to beat her upon hearing this.
"Hahaha! I was afraid one wouldn't be enough, so I specifically prepared two. I never expected that your Cult Leader would be completely unaffected."
Ellie didn't know that Pan Han was immune to all poisons, so she didn't know how to explain it to the others.
However, she didn't give Ayaka Kurai a hard time and instead helped her light a cigarette.
"Where are you planning to take me?" After exhaling a puff of white smoke, Ayaka Kurai's expression relaxed, and she asked in a lazy voice.
"You don't need to know!" Ellie said coldly.
"Hehe! Fine. I was originally going to tell you a secret. Since you're unwilling to say, I'll just pretend it never happened. Dying without knowing anything isn't bad either."
Ayaka Kurai looked at Ellie and the other bodyguards with a smile.
At this, a blond bodyguard stepped forward and said, "Little girl, I advise you to confess honestly. Otherwise, I have a hundred ways to make you talk."
"Oh, this handsome guy has a nice build, doesn't he? Can you do me a favor?"
"Hmm? Speak!"
"Before I die, let me have some fun! I don't want to die just like this."
"Hiss! You fucking looking for death!" The blond bodyguard's brows shot up, and he immediately retorted angrily.
Ellie stopped the blond man, then crouched down to look Ayaka Kurai in the eye. "If I tell you where we're going, will you tell me that secret in exchange?"
"Forget it, let's not talk about it. Sometimes knowing things in advance isn't necessarily a good thing!"
Ellie frowned and turned to look at her companions behind her. They nodded at her.
"Fine, I'll tell you. I hope you'll tell the truth in return. Otherwise..."
"Hahaha! Otherwise, just let these four brothers take care of me, how about that!"
"Crazy..." Ellie cursed, but after a pause, she said, "We are going to the Dragon Kingdom."
"Oh? Is that so? Fine, it doesn't matter." Ayaka Kurai stood up with her hands behind her back and bowed three times in the direction they were heading.
Everyone frowned at her actions, unable to guess what she was doing.
"This should be the direction of my hometown. That's enough." She muttered something cryptic, then turned around, her eyes flashing as she said, "You don't think only the Knight Order has submarines, do you?"
As soon as these words were spoken, Ellie and the others shivered!
Could it be that there were American submarines lying in ambush nearby??
"Enter combat mode!" Ellie immediately ordered.
The group quickly rushed to the control console.
This submarine not only had autopilot, but was also fully equipped with various sonar devices and weapons.
"Too late!" Ayaka Kurai murmured, leaning against the bulkhead, closing her eyes and falling into deep thought.
"Who among you knows how to operate the weapons on the submarine?" Ellie looked at the large screens and the pile of buttons in front of her, her brows furrowed.
"Ellie, although there might be submarines nearby, our target is too small; they might not detect us. Besides, we're fast; even if they detect us, they might not be able to catch up."
A bodyguard who seemed to have studied submarine operation explained while staring at the screen.
After speaking, he pointed to a data indicator. Everyone looked and saw the number 40.
"We are now moving at full speed. At 40 knots, no other submarine in this world can catch us."
"Don't forget they also have aircraft." A trace of despair suddenly welled up in Ellie.
Ever since Ayaka Kurai landed on Knight Island, a sense of foreboding had followed her like a shadow. Now, it felt like a sheet of plastic film, tightly wrapping around her body, making it hard for her to breathe.
"Then we'll dive to the maximum depth!" After saying this, the bodyguard immediately gave instructions to the autopilot system.
"What's the maximum depth in meters?"
"I don't know! But since this submarine is so small, the maximum depth should be greater!"
"I hope the weapons department didn't cut corners!"
"Impossible. How could they cut corners on a submarine specially built for the Cult Leader?" Ellie said.
"That makes sense. Then let's see what the limit is!"
Once the command was given, the submarine began to tilt and dive, descending continuously.
