161: Eight generations living under one roof

Unconsciously, Pan Han mentioned children. He had forgotten that women in this world could no longer bear children.

Cheng Xiao also stopped what she was doing; she stared blankly at Pan Han.

"I'm sorry. I can't bear children for you." Cheng Xiao lowered her head silently, as if it were her fault.

Pan Han quickly waved his hand and said, "It's fine, it's fine! And it's not your fault. Besides, we are both still young."

He hadn't expected a casual remark to plunge Cheng Xiao into deep self-reproach.

When a woman falls in love with a man, she is willing to bear his children.

"But I want to bear them for you." As expected, Cheng Xiao had a change of heart, and after saying that, she buried her head in Pan Han's arms.

"Mm-hmm. I know." Pan Han quickly hugged her and kissed her forehead.

"I don't care, I just want to bear children for you. And I want to have a bunch of them!" Cheng Xiao pouted in Pan Han's arms, even getting a bit teary-eyed.

Pan Han held Cheng Xiao, his heart filled with emotion, as he continuously comforted her.

He thought of his own world, where many young people didn't marry or have children. Little did he know, in another world, how many people wanted to have children but couldn't!

The joys and sorrows of people are not interconnected!

What you can easily obtain is what others dream of!

What you casually give up is what others strive for their entire lives!

Some people are in the third heaven, enjoying life to the fullest! And some are in the eighteenth layer of hell, struggling in a sea of fire.

So, what should be cherished?

Perhaps, everything one possesses is worth cherishing!

Experience! Experience! Experience!

"Commander, when no one's around, can I call you my Lord?" Suddenly, Cheng Xiao looked up, wiped her tears, and asked.

"Of course! Calling me Commander is too formal. You can even call me husband. Haha!" Pan Han gently stroked her flushed little face and said softly.

"No, no, no, that's too presumptuous. I can't call you husband until I bear children for you." Cheng Xiao's body trembled slightly when she heard the word 'husband'.

"Whatever you call me, I'll love to hear it." Pan Han kissed her, and they embraced each other again.

After a long time, Cheng Xiao slowly spoke:

"You know, we've gone through so much trouble, gathered so many people. Even if one day we're well-fed and well-clothed, would that count as hope?"

Pan Han knew what she meant.

All life needs to reproduce and inherit, otherwise it cannot be called life.

Based on reproduction, a series of survival actions and evolutionary directions emerged. Nature then became colorful.

"No! Without children, there is no true hope." Pan Han answered solemnly.

"Then can we live forever?"

"Probably not."

"Then doesn't that mean I'll lose you sooner or later?" Pan Han had just comforted her, but Cheng Xiao's eyes instantly turned red again at the thought of future separation.

"By the way, how long can a primary evolver live? Do you know?"

"I don't know. The apocalypse has only been for a few years, and evolvers even less. You mean?" Cheng Xiao seemed to understand Pan Han's meaning, and some light shone in her eyes.

"Hmm. In my hometown, I know there's a type of person called cultivators. Through cultivation, they can live forever, and even ascend to become immortals."

"Cultivators? I've never heard of them. What do they cultivate?"

"It's similar to our training. It's also pushing the body to its limits. But they can absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and transform it into their own magic power." Pan Han explained the cultivation setting to her.

"It feels similar to the Evolution Potion." Cheng Xiao listened, not particularly surprised.

Compared to the apocalypse, what else could be considered a big deal?

"Well, it's quite similar. Maybe after we evolve, we can live for hundreds of years!" Pan Han said with a smile. They were only in their twenties now, so a hundred years was still a long way off.

"???? Hundreds of years?" Cheng Xiao was greatly surprised when she heard that!

"How about it, does it still feel very far away?" Pan Han felt that this time he should have rescued Cheng Xiao from the brink of collapse, and he smugly lit another cigarette.

"My Lord, you don't have a fever, do you?" Cheng Xiao touched his forehead.

Holy crap, a familiar feeling was back!

That's right, Cheng Xiao's clear and bright eyes were clearly looking at a big idiot.

"What's wrong? 100 years isn't enough?" Pan Han was a bit nervous, feeling like he had made another mistake, clenching his buttocks tightly.

"Here, normal people live for 200 years, you know, and those who take a little care of themselves live for 250. It's not uncommon for long-lived ones to reach 300." Cheng Xiao explained to Pan Han while counting on her fingers.

"Holy crap! 300 years?" Pan Han almost jumped off the bed.

In Pan Han's memory, Foundation Establishment cultivators could live at most 300 years, with a common age of 200 years. Only when they reached the Golden Core stage could they break through 300 years and head straight for 500 years.

People here could actually live for 200 years!

What kind of world was this? He had been here for so long, and he hadn't heard of cultivation!

"Yeah, otherwise, where would so many people come from?"

Pan Han then remembered that there were originally 600 billion people in the apocalypse. This also made sense; if they wished for eight generations to live together, there would naturally be many people.

"We're only in our twenties, so 300 years is still a long way off. No rush, there must be a way to solve the problem of having children. Maybe the Evolution Potion can even extend life. Primary 300 years, intermediate 500 years, advanced 1000 years." Pan Han felt he couldn't be treated like an idiot anymore, so he quickly changed the subject.

"I hope so. You just said that cultivators can live forever if they ascend to the immortal realm?"

"Not exactly, even immortals can die. It's just that their lifespans are calculated in billions of years. They can live for a very, very long time."

"It would be great if we could ascend to the immortal realm." Cheng Xiao's eyes were hazy, imagining what the immortal realm looked like in her mind.

"It's not necessarily good to ascend. You might end up raising rabbits in the Guanghan Palace while someone else watches the rolling door in the main hall." Pan Han had read so many cultivation novels, and none of the immortal realms were free of strife.

"That won't do. I have to stay with you every day. I can't now, and if I can't even after ascending to the immortal realm, then what's the point of ascending?"

"Oh, okay, okay. No ascending, no ascending." Pan Han hugged her again and coaxed her.

"Annoying, let's not talk about this anymore. I'll massage your legs again." Cheng Xiao saw that Pan Han was feeling much better and prepared to continue for a while, hoping he could go downstairs for dinner.

"I have to say, your technique is really good. How about we build a massage parlor in the base? Look, our base will soon have more people. All kinds of businesses will need to be built then." Pan Han suddenly had an idea; commercial activities in the apocalypse also needed to slowly resume.

This kind of service industry could provide relatively easy jobs for women.

"Oh, so you're going to make me the top technician?" Cheng Xiao slapped his thigh.

"You'd definitely be the madam! You can only massage me." Pan Han grabbed Cheng Xiao's hands and gently kissed them.

"That's more like it! But it's strange for me, a sniper, to switch careers and become a madam!" Cheng Xiao felt that she still yearned for the battlefield of slaughter.

"Silly girl, a life where you only play with pistols and not sniper rifles is a good life."
