144: Half sister
This person was none other than the landlord, who had come today to deliver the final ultimatum.
When the proprietress saw him, she knew nothing good would come of it, so she quickly went forward to greet him, her face wreathed in smiles.
“Oh, landlord! Why didn’t you give us a heads-up before coming?”
“Proprietress, what have you decided? I’ve given you many days to consider.” The landlord completely ignored the proprietress and sat down directly in front of the children.
The proprietress heard this and knew that what was bound to happen had finally arrived.
She knew she couldn’t avoid it today, so she could only brace herself and struggle a bit more.
“Landlord, look at me, with three children, it’s really not easy. Can you please consider adding a little less?” The proprietress’s words were sincere, her eyes full of pleading.
“You’re not easy? Who is easy? Haven’t you seen me, I’m still riding an electric scooter now.” The landlord scoffed at her words. He had seen too many people like her; every time he wanted to raise the rent, they had this attitude.
“It’s not that I won’t add it, but can it be a little less?” The proprietress still pleaded.
“Adding 3000 is still too much? Ask those next door how much they’re adding. I’m already being considerate of you.” The landlord’s tone grew increasingly impatient.
“How about 300 less?” The proprietress gritted her teeth; 300 less would be enough for her to eat for a month.
“Are you taking me for a fool? No, not a single penny less! If you don’t agree, then move out. This small temple of mine can’t afford to keep a big Buddha like you.” The landlord shook his head firmly, unwilling to give in even a single cent.
“Sigh!” The proprietress let out a long sigh!
Fate, how long will you toy with us, orphans and widows?
“Mommy! Why is this uncle asking us for money?” The youngest son probably understood the adults’ conversation, asking innocently with a pair of watery eyes.
“Because our family’s shop is rented from this uncle’s family.”
“Then, Uncle, can you let our family use it for free? Mommy will make you lots and lots of Banmian to eat then.” The youngest son looked at the landlord with sincerity, his tender voice full of innocence.
“Haha! Kid! You’re so young, yet you’re already thinking of taking advantage of others! You’re even more ruthless than your mother!” The landlord almost laughed from anger when he heard this.
“The child is just joking, landlord, please don’t mind him. Eldest, take your younger siblings inside.” The proprietress smiled awkwardly.
“What do such young children know? It must be you adults who taught them. Truly, what kind of person teaches what kind of child! All the same!” The landlord sneered disdainfully, retorting coldly.
When the proprietress heard this, an unnamed anger rose in her heart, but she couldn’t vent it, so she could only force a smile.
Just then, the youngest son, who had already gone inside, suddenly ran out holding a bowl of unfinished Banmian soup. With a splash, he poured it all over the landlord.
His white shirt was immediately stained with large oil spots.
“Hey! You little brat! What’s going on!” The landlord immediately jumped up, swatting at the soup with his hands while scolding the youngest son.
“Bad uncle! Serves you right!” After splashing, the youngest son made a face and ran away.
The landlord heard this, physical attack done, now magic attack. He immediately became furious and was about to chase the youngest son.
The proprietress quickly blocked him, not letting him chase.
The two sides pulled and tugged like this.
Seeing the youngest son about to run far away, the landlord exerted force, pushed the proprietress down, and then took a few strides to catch the youngest son.
“Damn it, you fatherless little bastard! Let’s see you run!” Saying that, he was about to strike.
At this moment, a large hand grabbed his wrist.
“Not even letting go of a child! Trash!” It was Pan Han who had intervened.
“Who the hell are you?” The landlord was very puzzled.
“I’m here to eat Banmian.”
“Then you just eat. What the hell does it have to do with you!” The landlord’s hand was held tightly, making him uncomfortable and even struggling to wipe his clothes.
“I see you even want to hit a child!” Pan Han raised his gaze, questioning him.
“No, who the hell are you anyway?” The landlord didn’t plan to answer directly but tried to evade the question.
“Are you deaf? I’m here to eat noodles!” Pan Han applied a little more force to his hand.
“Sister Xiaoli, have you noticed that Pan Han has changed?” Wang Doudou looked at Pan Han and suddenly asked Yan Xiaoli.
“It seems so. But I can’t put my finger on it.” Yan Xiaoli looked at Pan Han, lost in thought, and murmured in response.
“Was he always so eager to help others before?” Wang Doudou pressed again.
“I haven’t seen it. He’s so handsome now.” Yan Xiaoli looked at Pan Han, who seemed to be glowing with golden light.
“Damn it! Let go of me!” The landlord’s hand hurt from Pan Han’s grip, so he prepared to counterattack, kicking out with his foot.
How could Pan Han give him a chance? As soon as he exerted force, Pan Han countered with a push, sending him flying backward.
He landed with a big thud, right on a pile of used napkins on the floor.
Now, his butt was also covered in oil.
“Proprietress! You found a helper, didn’t you? You’re playing dirty, aren’t you? You just wait for me.” The landlord rubbed his butt, as if realizing something.
“Landlord, you’ve misunderstood, I don’t know him.” The proprietress was still kind-hearted, stepping forward to help the landlord up.
After the landlord got up, he roughly shook off the proprietress’s hands.
“You think I’m an idiot! You don’t know him, and he’d stand up for you!” The landlord was a bit exasperated; he didn’t believe there was anyone in this world who would stand up for the weak.
“They’re orphans and widows! They rely on a Banmian stall to make a living. You’re raising the rent by 3000 at once, isn’t that too ruthless?” Pan Han stepped forward, his aura incredibly powerful, pressing down on the landlord so much that he couldn’t quite lift his head.
“It’s my own house, I can raise the rent by as much as I want. Is it any of your business?”
“Do you need that much money to buy a coffin?”
“Are you f*cking sick! Do I need you to tell me how much money I need?”
“I’m asking you, do you need that much money to buy a coffin?”
“I’ll buy your mother’s! Damn it!” The landlord was furious beyond words, swinging his fist to strike.
Slap! A hard smack! The landlord immediately saw stars.
“Good kid! You wait! See if I don’t call the police and have you arrested!” Although the landlord was a jerk, he wasn’t stupid. Seeing that he couldn’t win the fight, he quickly called the police.
“If you call the police, you won’t even have money for a coffin!” Pan Han wasn’t afraid, but said coldly.
“What do you mean? Are you going to kill someone? It’s broad daylight now!” The landlord, hearing this, trembled a bit from fear, already starting to babble incoherently.
“Nothing! I want to buy this storefront. Name your price.” Pan Han suddenly changed the subject, catching everyone off guard.
“Buy a house?” The landlord heard that the other party wanted to talk business, and his mind suddenly returned to normal.
“Yes, name your price.”
When the proprietress heard this, she quickly ran to Pan Han’s side.
“Young man, you don’t need to get involved in our affairs. I appreciate your good intentions, this meal is on me today, you should leave quickly.”
“Proprietress, please sit back and relax. I really want to buy this storefront.”
“Oh, I understand! The proprietress found a rich backer! What a tactic!” The landlord fully exercised his imagination, and his intelligence once again gained the upper hand.
“Enough nonsense. Name your price.”
“1.7 million.” The landlord didn’t say another word, directly quoting the price. He had bought this house a few years ago for 700,000. Now he was directly adding 1 million, to see if Pan Han would take the bait.
“Card number!” Pan Han said calmly, his voice as still as water.
Huh? Could it be that this person is an idiot?
The landlord heard that the other party didn’t even bargain, and couldn’t help but ponder secretly.
“Card number!” Pan Han still said coldly.
The landlord heard this, took out a bank card from his wallet, and handed it to Pan Han.
“Name!”
“Du Dewei”
After Pan Han got the name, he took out his phone and performed a few simple operations.
Ding! Account credited notification!
The landlord was stunned!
The proprietress was bewildered!
Wang Doudou and Yan Xiaoli hadn’t reacted yet.
What’s going on? Weren’t they here to eat Banmian? How did it turn into buying a house?
“The money has been given to you. I’ll send someone tomorrow to sign the contract.” Pan Han looked back at Yan Xiaoli, signaling her to come tomorrow.
“Sister Xiaoli, who is this proprietress to Pan Han?” Wang Doudou asked quietly.
“Maybe she’s his biological sister from different parents.” Yan Xiaoli mumbled.
“Has he been stimulated by something?” Wang Doudou felt that something was very wrong.
But neither of them could stop Pan Han in person; after all, it was only 1.7 million, not worth making a fuss over.
“It’s fine, you can go back. Tomorrow at 12 PM, come here to sign the contract.” Pan Han wasn’t afraid of him running; if he dared to run, he would instantly send him into space.
The landlord held the bank card, looking at his phone, and it took him a long time to recover.
He knew he had provoked someone he couldn’t afford to provoke. So he quickly rode his electric scooter and fled.
