441: Three dragon eggs
Just after dinner, Qin Zhong, Third, and Fourth came downstairs to ask for an audience.
They had finished handling affairs in the other two provinces and immediately returned, heading straight to the villa as soon as they arrived at the base.
Pan Han wiped his mouth and immediately told the three to come upstairs.
"Commander, we have returned!" Qin Zhong and the others bowed as soon as they saw Pan Han.
"No need for formalities, stand up and speak." After the recent major battle, Pan Han felt exceptionally close to the members of the Dawn Squad. After helping them up, everyone sat together in a circle.
"Here, have a smoke."
"Thank you, Commander!"
At this moment, Ellie also came out from the room carrying tea.
The three of them had not yet met Ellie in person, only knowing from Second Sister and Fifth that such an important person had joined the base.
"Ellie, come here and meet our Boss Qin, Third, and Fourth!" Pan Han introduced them happily.
"Oh! So this is Miss Ellie!" Qin Zhong and the others immediately stood up and bowed to Ellie.
"Hello, brothers!" Ellie returned the greeting.
"Old Qin, in the future, when I'm not at the base, I'll have to trouble you to take good care of Ellie," Pan Han said.
"That goes without saying, Commander, please rest assured. Ellie is just like our own younger sister." Qin Zhong nodded firmly.
Ellie smiled as she looked at the three of them, and an inexplicable sense of closeness welled up within her.
Perhaps this was the charm of Dawn Base.
Having experienced life and death and rekindled hope, the inner tension of life was fully stretched, naturally releasing an incomparably powerful attraction.
"Ai Li, you really are an Intermediate Evolver!"
Qin Zhong looked at Ellie with eyes full of affection. He knew this young woman's life had been full of twists and turns, and he couldn't help but feel deeply moved.
"This is all thanks to our Commander. I actually just slept," Ellie said, blushing in embarrassment.
"Ai Li, we came in such a hurry that we didn't bring any gifts. If you don't mind, please accept this!" Third looked at Fourth and Qin Zhong, nodded, and pulled a large box from behind the sofa.
Pan Han and Ellie were both taken aback; they hadn't heard that the three of them were bringing anything.
"What is this?" Pan Han asked.
"Heh, Commander. Originally, this was a trophy the three of us brought for you. But looking at it now, it's more suitable as a gift for Ai Li!" Third said with a mysterious expression.
"Oh? This is interesting. Anything brought to me as a trophy must be incredibly valuable." Pan Han stroked his chin, lost in thought.
He was the King of the apocalypse Department Store; usually, he was the one shocking others with his items.
Qin Zhong chuckled and took the box to open it.
Three giant black eggs, each with several red-black gullies on them, emitting a dark red light.
"What is this?" Pan Han and Ellie asked in unison.
"These are dragon eggs!" Qin Zhong took a deep breath to control his excitement.
Coming from another world, Pan Han and Ellie had heard of dragons, but they had always been mythical beasts in legends.
Or the monsters in Western films and television, the kind with huge wings that breathe fire.
"Brothers, what do the dragons you're talking about look like?" Ellie asked in disbelief.
The impact this world had on her was too great!
She hadn't even finished digesting the information about zombies, evolution, and mechs, and now dragon eggs had popped up!
"The kind with wings that breathes fire." Fourth took over, spreading his arms and opening his mouth wide, imitating a dragon.
"You're kidding!" The image of a Dragon Horse and three giant dragons appeared in Pan Han's mind.
"Commander, it's not surprising you haven't heard of them. These are a completely new species that evolved five years after the apocalypse began." Qin Zhong explained.
"Ah? They only appeared after the apocalypse?" Ellie was completely stunned.
The apocalypse could actually give birth to brand new species?
Pan Han wasn't as surprised; after all, he had seen real high-level evolvers.
Those guys and humans were no longer considered the same species.
"Heh, little sister! After these dragons appeared, they swept across the entire apocalypse, killing countless people. Later, the Twelve Palaces dispatched heavy troops to wipe them out completely. I never expected that three dragon eggs would have been left behind." Qin Zhong continued to explain.
"In those days, countless giant dragons seemed to burst forth from the ground in every country across the apocalypse, blocking out the sky and sun, leaving devastation in their wake wherever they went."
"They could grow up to sixty meters long, over ten meters tall, with a wingspan of over a hundred meters, and weighing over three hundred tons. They could breathe fire, emit a roar of 180 decibels, and had bodies of incredible hardness that ordinary autocannons couldn't handle."
"Don't let their size and weight fool you; they were incredibly fast in flight, approaching the speed of sound."
"If we have three giant dragons, our combat strength would be equivalent to at least an entire army!"
At this point, Qin Zhong, Third, and Fourth were already extremely excited.
They had witnessed the scene of the giant dragons rampaging back then with their own eyes, and it was still vivid in their minds, unforgettable even after all this time.
When a giant dragon roared, everyone on the ground would involuntarily faint, and those slightly closer would be rendered deaf instantly.
And the dragon's fire was similar to napalm; once it stuck to your body, it was impossible to extinguish.
...
Ten minutes later, Old Qin finished his story.
Pan Han and Ellie felt their scalps tingling, they were stunned, and their lower bodies were trembling uncontrollably!
Although both were Intermediate Evolvers, they knew that if they faced a giant dragon, their only option would be to run for their lives!
"Old Qin! Where were these things discovered?"
"Reporting to the Commander, Third found them while attacking a bunker." Qin Zhong looked at Third.
"Yes, Commander. We were responsible for the southern battlefield. Everything was going smoothly, but towards the end, we encountered this tough bunker."
"We only managed to break through the bunker after paying the price of several hundred lives. Once the fighting here ended, the entire province immediately surrendered."
Third took over and began his report.
"So, after the giant dragons were wiped out, they haven't been seen for several years?" Pan Han asked.
"Yes, Commander. When we discovered the dragon eggs, we couldn't believe it either. After repeated confirmation, we verified their authenticity and immediately brought them back to present to you." Third said.
"How do you hatch and feed these things?"
Pan Han immediately thought of this question. Three giant dragons would likely be a bottomless pit, consuming who knows how much food every day.
Furthermore, if he wanted to use them for his own purposes, he had to figure out the rules for them to recognize a master.
"We obtained a manual from the bunker's garrison. It details how to operate them. However, it's said that they are more likely to recognize a female as their master. So we thought it would be the perfect gift for Ai Li." Qin Zhong said.
"Oh? Brothers, may I ask how they recognize a master?" Ellie immediately became interested.
Both Cheng Xiao and Asiba had mechs. If she could have three giant dragons, it would be a good choice, and she could better serve Pan Han.
"This will require a lot of energy and effort." Qin Zhong took out a manual and placed it in front of the two.
Pan Han and Ellie picked it up and read it carefully, their brows gradually furrowing.
"This is too exaggerated!"
After a long while, Pan Han let out a heavy breath and said: "How is this any different from taking Ai Li's life?"
