196: Fighting Samurai Zombies

What a coincidence! The giant zombie just died like that!

"Alright! Luck comes and goes," Pan Han said, checking the time. The Trial had already been going for three hours.

He had only cleared ten floors so far.

Right now, Big Brother's score had surpassed 450,000, and his own score wasn't even a fraction of that.

If this continued, he would definitely get zero points.

However, Pan Han's ammunition was now depleted, so he could only go search for the red dot first.

Just as he was about to search, all the lights on the tenth floor lit up.

"It seems there was only one zombie on this floor!" Pan Han squinted his eyes as the lights came on.

Lights on meant the area was cleared. Immediately after, music played, and an automated cart, dragging a small cart behind it, slowly moved from the corner to Pan Han's side.

"Oh, there's a hidden reward," Pan Han said, looking at the cart and thinking of the food delivery carts in his world's restaurants.

"Congratulations, Trial participant, for clearing the first ten levels. You have activated a hidden reward; please open it yourself," a voice prompt came from the cart.

Pan Han's interest was piqued, and he examined the large box in the cart from all sides.

With a creak, he opened the box.

The box automatically divided into three layers.

The first layer contained an automatic rifle, twelve magazines, a tactical vest, a tactical backpack, and a large box of ammunition next to it.

Pan Han put on the vest, prepared the rifle, and pocketed the bullets. He felt like he was about to transform into a special forces soldier.

The second layer was densely packed with grenades.

"My goodness, so many!" Pan Han roughly counted them, no less than thirty.

Pan Han didn't hesitate, stuffing them all into his backpack.

The weight immediately increased, but Pan Han bounced a bit and felt it was still manageable, not significantly affecting his movement.

The bottom layer contained a flamethrower.

"Holy cow! They even give this?" Pan Han picked up the flamethrower, weighing it in his hand; it was quite substantial.

Beneath the stock, there was a small canister, which appeared to hold fuel.

"Are we going to have a zombie BBQ now?" Pan Han pulled the flamethrower's trigger, and flames immediately burst from the muzzle.

The light blue flames hissed, giving him a great sense of security.

Pan Han reorganized his equipment, slinging the rifle by his side and holding the flamethrower as he headed straight for the eleventh floor.

...

From the eleventh to the nineteenth floor, Pan Han passed through quickly, with no major scares.

His score broke 50,000, and his ranking rose to 70th place.

"The flamethrower is indeed effective. If only there was a bit more fuel, it would be perfect," Pan Han thought, recalling how he had just encountered some mutated bats, and the flamethrower had shown its might, burning them all to death.

However, the fuel was now exhausted, and Pan Han reluctantly placed it on the ground.

He checked his rifle again; only one magazine was left, and he had three grenades remaining.

"Without a doubt, there should be another Boss on the twentieth floor," Pan Han had already figured out the pattern.

Upon reaching the twentieth floor, it was distinctly different from the tenth floor.

It was antique and luxuriously decorated, filled with various red wooden furniture.

This floor had no rooms; it was an open structure at a glance.

In the corridor opposite, a figure vaguely stood.

This figure wore a black suit and held a katana, emitting flashes of cold light.

"Wow, he looks quite stylish!" Pan Han squinted, vaguely sensing a hint of killing intent.

"Could it be an evolved zombie?"

Just as Pan Han slowly approached, his wristband alerted him: 10,000 points.

"Hiss! Such a high score? Its combat power must be incredibly exaggerated."

"Aww!!!" The sword-wielding zombie opposite let out a howl, then quickly ran towards Pan Han.

Between them was an atrium; to get across, it needed to go around two corners.

Pan Han immediately entered combat mode, holding his rifle and firing directly.

Bang bang bang!

Clang clang clang!

Not all the bullets Pan Han fired hit the zombie, but any bullets that came close were blocked by the katana!

Exaggerated!

Terrifying!

It's just ridiculous!

Pan Han knew he could barely do it, but to do it as effortlessly as it did was absolutely impossible!

"So powerful!" After running out of bullets, he threw away the rifle, and Pan Han took out a grenade, throwing it towards the corner.

Boom boom! After the two grenades exploded, the sword-wielding warrior's figure swayed, but it still rushed out of the smoke, heading straight for Pan Han.

When it was about twelve meters away, the sword-wielding warrior changed its hand posture, pointing its blade directly at Pan Han.

A great battle was about to erupt!

Pan Han drew his dagger, held it in a reverse grip, his eyes resolute, staring intently at the katana.

"Damn it! I've trained too!" With a loud shout, Pan Han also charged forward!

The dagger and katana clashed instantly.

Amidst the sharp metallic clang, Pan Han felt a tremendous recoil in his wrist.

It seemed this zombie's strength far exceeded his imagination.

Despite this, Pan Han did not back down.

A determined light flickered in his eyes as he tightly gripped his dagger and attacked the zombie again.

He knew this was a life-or-death battle, with no retreat, only forward.

The zombie warrior did not slow its pace; the katana in its hand drew arcs of cold light in the air, aiming directly for Pan Han's vital points.

Every attack made one feel the threat of death.

But Pan Han's movements became increasingly agile, his dagger like a nimble snake, sometimes dodging, sometimes attacking.

Every one of his attacks was executed in the gaps of the zombie's attacks, aimed at the zombie's weak points.

Although the dagger's attack power could not compare to the katana, Pan Han's attacks were precise and ruthless, each one leaving a wound on the zombie's body.

A long weapon has an advantage, a short weapon is more dangerous! Pan Han naturally understood this principle, so he chose to engage in close-quarters combat as much as possible.

Thus, Pan Han and the zombie went back and forth, fighting to a standstill. Every offense and defense was like a gamble, gambling with their own lives.

After they exchanged more than twenty moves, the warrior zombie found itself covered in sword wounds, its skin torn and flesh exposed.

"Aww!!!!" With an enraged roar, the warrior zombie retreated more than ten meters, then stared fixedly at Pan Han.

"Hehe! Playing with blades with me? I'm not afraid of you!"

"Aww!!!!" The warrior zombie surprisingly gave a thumbs-up, actually praising Pan Han.

"Good heavens, even zombies can give thumbs-ups now; they must have evolved too much," Pan Han thought, feeling a bit amused and frustrated, though he knew the zombie was definitely provoking him.

"Praising me is useless, you still have to die!" Pan Han roared, charging at the warrior zombie again.

The warrior zombie instantly threw away its katana, drawing a pair of exquisite short swords from its back, small, sharp, and gleaming with cold light.

"Holy crap! It's not playing fair, it's changing to short blades too! Haha!"

Amidst their banter, the man and the zombie began to fight again.

Speaking of which, Pan Han wasn't someone who liked to take advantage.

However, he certainly wouldn't voluntarily take off his tactical vest, which was equipped with bulletproof plates.

The warrior zombie's short blades, nine out of ten times, struck the vest. Meanwhile, Pan Han's dagger firmly stabbed the opponent several times.

"Cheating! Chea...cheating!" The warrior zombie pointed at Pan Han's upper body, stammering and struggling to produce human sounds.
