381: The traitor died suddenly, and the president was furious
But Pan Han had no time to grieve, because that traitor had not yet been eliminated.
This person also possessed top-secret information from the Dragon Country; the longer he remained, the greater the risk.
"Pan Han, pull yourself together!" He encouraged himself, pulled up the traitor's coordinates in his mind, and traveled again.
At this moment, his mind was filled with the image of Old Master Guo and his final gaze!
Pan Han's killing intent was monstrous!
Whoever dares to stop me, I'll kill them!
"A military base, is it? Kid, let me show you what a miracle is!"
With that, Pan Han, wearing an invisibility cloak, appeared in the room where the traitor was staying.
He had just finished a meal and was taking a nap.
Two Black-Clad Men stood guard at the door, and the entire floor was locked down. There was no one else around, and at the end of the corridor stood four fully armed Eagle Country soldiers.
No one, not even the surveillance equipment, detected Pan Han.
This is a miracle!
Pan Han held his breath, watching the traitor, who was snoring soundly in his sleep.
"So this is what you look like! You look like an honest man with thick eyebrows and big eyes; how could you betray us?"
Pan Han had originally intended to make it look like a suicide by hanging, but considered the presence of surveillance cameras.
If the guy were to stand up out of thin air, the footage would be terrifying.
So, without further hesitation, he quietly walked up to the traitor and twisted his neck.
The traitor died instantly, showing no signs of anything unusual.
With that done, Pan Han did not hesitate to return to the apocalypse, then traveled back to the vicinity of Old Master Guo's location.
He lay prone several hundred meters away, opening his divine sense fully to gather all the information.
It had only been five minutes since he had sent Old Master Guo away.
They were likely dealing with the aftermath now, and Pan Han prepared to see what they planned to do next.
After all, Xiaofang was still in Old William's hands.
Old Master Guo was gone, and if they dared to harm Xiaofang, Pan Han wouldn't mind turning the Eagle Country upside down.
The Knight Order might be afraid of the Eagle Country, but Pan Han certainly wasn't!
At this time, Old William's boss and a doctor had all arrived.
The doctor was attempting to resuscitate him, while the boss was berating Old William at the top of his lungs!
To outsiders, it appeared that Old Master Guo had been accidentally killed by the three of them.
After all, they had been struggling with each other before he died.
Old William looked grim, constantly explaining himself, while the two Black-Clad Men also insisted that it was impossible for them to have broken his neck.
Although the boss was ranting non-stop, he was no fool.
He knew that Old William and his team would never accidentally kill someone; agents of their caliber would certainly not make such low-level errors.
It was just that if he didn't vent his anger, he wouldn't be able to calm down.
The doctor stood up and shook his head at everyone, indicating that there was no hope and that he had passed away.
"Check the surveillance! Check it frame by frame!" The boss berated Old William, spraying spittle all over his face.
"Yes!" The three stood at attention, chests puffed out, and answered loudly.
"Boss, what about Guo's daughter?" Old William asked, his eyes darting around.
"Make the Dragon Country pay to redeem her! Demand a heavy price!" The boss slammed his fist against the wall, but ultimately refrained from killing them to silence them.
Hearing this, Pan Han breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as she could stay alive, let them ransom her; after all, it was still within the realm of normal negotiation.
If Pan Han went on a killing spree to save her, it might prove counterproductive.
But that son of a bitch, Old William, had to die!!!!
Pan Han decided to wait here; he didn't believe Old William wouldn't eventually come out.
A few minutes later, two reports were submitted to the President of the Eagle Country.
One detailed the mysterious death of Old Master Guo, and the other, the bizarre and sudden death of the traitor.
After the President finished reviewing the two surveillance reports, he slumped back in his chair.
"This is impossible; only a god could accomplish this! And it is absolutely impossible for the Dragon Country to have done it!"
After a long while, the President slowly uttered a sentence.
Surrounded by several high-ranking officials and advisors, they were all dumbfounded!
These people were all battle-hardened and well-informed.
Yet, they were still shocked beyond measure!
"How do you people operate? With security like this, you still have the nerve to negotiate with the Dragon Country? Go eat shit!" The President held the reports and slapped the table loudly.
The Eagle Country and the Dragon Country were currently at odds, and Old Master Guo and the traitor had been excellent bargaining chips.
They could have forced the Dragon Country to make concessions and disrupted their spy network.
The President had thought victory was certain, but who could have expected Pan Han to appear out of nowhere.
"Mr. President, to my knowledge, there is currently no technology on Blue Star that can remotely cause the death of a target," said a middle-aged man in uniform with the rank of colonel.
"No shit! Do I need you to tell me that?" The President was furious; whoever spoke first was bound to have a bad time.
But the colonel didn't get angry; he didn't even show any emotional fluctuation as he continued, "There is only one possibility: someone infiltrated the rooms and killed them both."
At these words, everyone present was shocked.
It wasn't that no one had considered this, but everyone had deemed it impossible and hadn't pursued the thought further.
"Do you have any evidence?" The President waved his hand, signaling for everyone to cease their discussion.
"No!" The colonel shook his head, his expression remaining as calm as a still well.
"If you have no evidence, then quit talking nonsense." The President was incensed.
"When you eliminate all other possibilities, whatever remains, no matter how unbelievable, must be the truth," the colonel said coldly, the corners of his mouth curling slightly as if he had suddenly become intrigued.
Upon hearing this, everyone present stopped their discussion and fell into deep thought.
A few minutes later, the President nodded and said, "Chris, I'm entrusting this investigation to you. Ask for whatever resources you need. You must get to the bottom of this!"
The President was inwardly thinking that if the Dragon Country possessed such methods, he could be dead at any moment!
"No problem." Colonel Chris nodded slightly, a flash in his eyes revealing a trace of excitement.
"Come up with a codename for the operation!" the President said.
"Operation Notebook!" Colonel Chris replied without hesitation.
"What kind of damn name is that?" The President nearly fell over upon hearing it.
"Mr. President, when the investigation results are in, you will surely record them in the little notebook passed down by presidents through the generations." Colonel Chris smiled, stood up, saluted, and turned to leave.
The President glanced at the safe beside him, which contained notes personally recorded by previous presidents, documenting many unknown secrets.
Some suspected that it even contained records of aliens.
"Hmph, I hope you succeed." With that, the President waved his hand, dismissing everyone.
He then opened the safe himself, took out the little notebook, and began to record in it, stroke by stroke.
Pan Han was unaware that his actions had already incited the fury of the Eagle Country's highest leadership.
He had been keeping watch from a distance for a full 36 hours.
During this time, Old William and his team had examined the surveillance footage frame by frame, missing neither a single corner nor a single movement.
In the end, they only discovered some subtle, barely perceptible fluctuations in the footage during two specific time intervals.
Old William had assumed these were just normal glitches in the recording equipment and hadn't paid them any mind, eventually submitting a report to his boss stating that the investigation had yielded no results.
After being berated by his boss for a full half hour, he dragged his exhausted body out of the small building.
He was too tired and needed to go home to rest.
Pan Han's divine sense immediately locked onto him, and he grinned, saying, "Old William, you've finally come out!"
