15: I'll remember you!
“I know you booked it. It’s just that I’ve been eyeing this car for a while. Could you let me have it?” the young woman asked.
Pan Han sized her up. She was in her early twenties, remarkably well-maintained, and very attractive. She clearly looked like a child from a wealthy family.
“I’m sorry, Miss, but I’ve also been looking at this car for a long time. I’m afraid I can’t let you have it,” Pan Han said.
“How about I add 20,000 yuan for you?” the young woman suggested.
“It’s not about the money. I really need to buy a car,” Pan Han replied.
“50,000. That should be enough now, right?” The young woman sounded a bit angry.
“Sir, I’m the manager of this store, Miss Wang. She really did come to see this car a long time ago. How about you let her have it this time? When the M5 arrives in a few days, I’ll notify you immediately,” the manager interjected, trying to help.
“Miss Wang, I’m sorry, but I want the car,” Pan Han said, spreading his hands.
“How can you be like this! You’re not budging, are you? I’m in a good mood today and don’t want to cause trouble for my dad. But if you insist, don’t blame me for being impolite,” the young woman stated.
“In broad daylight, what can you do, eat me?” Pan Han was someone who had killed zombies in the apocalypse. Such threats were just a joke to him.
Seeing that the situation was about to escalate, the manager immediately pulled Pan Han aside and whispered, “Mr. Pan, this Miss Wang is not someone to be trifled with. You should just let her have the car.”
“Oh? What’s her background?” Pan Han asked.
“Her father is the leading figure in our city’s pharmaceutical industry. His family owns several listed companies and is worth tens of billions,” the manager whispered.
“Then she shouldn’t be short of cars to drive. Why is she fighting me for this one?” Pan Han thought, hearing that they were indeed a prominent family.
“She has at least 20 cars under her name. It’s just that this M5, I heard, she’s buying it for her boyfriend.”
“What if I insist on not transferring it?”
“This, this, it makes things very difficult for me!” The manager seemed conflicted.
“Difficult? Then don’t do it!” Pan Han said, then walked directly to the consultant, pulling him to swipe his card.
The manager had no choice. He couldn’t afford to offend someone who could buy an M5 in full.
Just then, the young woman received a video call on WeChat.
“Hey, darling, have you sorted it out? If you have, just drive it over, okay?” It was clearly the young woman’s boyfriend.
“Not yet. There’s only one M5 in the store, and someone else booked it. But he won’t transfer it,” the young woman said.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. When can’t you drive the car? It doesn’t have to be today.”
“No, it’s your birthday today, so I must get you the M5.”
“You don’t have to, darling. As long as you love me, that’s enough. I don’t need any M5.”
“I’ll talk to you later. I’m going to talk to that person again.” The young woman hung up the video call and headed straight for Pan Han.
“Final offer! 100,000 yuan. Is that acceptable?” The young woman made another offer.
Pan Han felt like laughing after hearing that. These rich people were just like this, thinking money could solve everything. However, the scenes with Chen Yun and Li Long from a few days ago were still vivid in his mind. Pan Han felt extreme aversion to such behavior of throwing money at people.
“I’m sorry, beautiful, I don’t agree. Please stop bothering me,” Pan Han said coldly.
“You!!” The young woman was so angry she couldn’t speak, pointing her finger at Pan Han.
“Didn’t your family teach you not to point fingers at people?” Pan Han looked at the young woman with a fierce gaze.
The young woman paid no heed, rushing to the sales consultant, quickly snatching the contract, and rapidly scanning the information on it.
“Pan Han! Good for you, I’ll remember you.”
The sales consultant saw things were going south, as client information had been leaked, and quickly snatched it back.
“It’s fine, it’s not your fault,” Pan Han told the sales consultant.
“Miss, if you continue to bother me, I will call the police. I hope the police can help you calm down,” Pan Han said.
“Pan Han, right? You just wait for me! Hmph!” The young woman said, huffing, and walked away without looking back.
“Crazy person,” Pan Han muttered. He couldn’t believe he encountered such a person just buying a car.
The manager quickly tried to pacify the young woman, but how could she listen? She directly shook off the manager’s hand and left.
Seeing that persuasion was ineffective, the manager quickly took out his phone and called her father to explain the situation, most importantly to absolve himself of responsibility.
Pan Han didn’t bother with the mess anymore and continued to pay and complete the procedures, arranging to pick up the car tomorrow.
He hailed a taxi and left. So carefree, not only did he spend money, but it seemed he also made an enemy. Pan Han sat in the car, silently pondering. This kind of life was exciting; what was the difference between his old life of going to work, coming home, cooking, and sleeping, and being a salted fish?
After a day out, he finally returned to the shared apartment.
Pan Han lay on his bed, scrolling through short videos for a while, and then played a few ranked games. His hands were particularly smooth today, getting several pentakills.
Looking at his match history, Pan Han put down his phone, satisfied. He walked to the window, gazed into the distance, and relaxed his eyes.
While stretching and relaxing his eyes, Pan Han couldn’t help but groan a few times.
Suddenly, he felt something unusual. He had never felt this way before; it was an indescribable wrongness.
He was a bit confused, so he looked around. Downstairs, there was a man in a black fleece jacket who seemed to be taking pictures of him with his phone.
Pan Han couldn’t be sure if the person was taking pictures of him, but a voice in his mind seemed to warn him.
Pan Han slowly opened the window, leaned out halfway, and also looked at the man.
Sure enough, when the other person saw Pan Han doing this, he put away his phone and immediately walked away.
Something was wrong!
“What the hell is going on, this is so strange!” Pan Han muttered, closing the window.
Could it be that Miss Wang sent someone to cause trouble for me? It couldn’t be, and the speed was too fast.
Forget it, maybe something’s off. Pan Han thought to himself, deciding not to dwell on it.
Pan Han took out his phone, found Yan Xiaoli’s WeChat, and sent her a message.
“What time do you arrive in Kyoto tomorrow? Which station? I’ll pick you up.”
“3 PM, Kyoto South Station,” Yan Xiaoli replied instantly.
“How was the shoot? Smooth?”
“Yes, it was. We finished on the first day. Afterward, I went out to play with a few sisters.”
“So, I’ll pick you up tomorrow? I don’t have anything else to do anyway.”
“Aren’t you working?”
“I quit!”
“Oh, that’s so sudden. Why did you quit out of the blue?”
“I want to do something on my own. Working takes too much time.”
“Hmph, working takes too much time, but picking me up doesn’t take too much time, does it?”
“They’re two different things. Picking you up definitely doesn’t take too much time.”
“Alright then, tomorrow at 3 PM, Kyoto South. We’ll be in touch then.”
“Got it!”
Pan Han found talking to Yan Xiaoli very comfortable. He had to admit, an actor’s self-cultivation was indeed extraordinary.
