190: First level of trial

When they reached downstairs, they found many armored vehicles already parked.

"All Trials, please get into groups of ten per vehicle. Do not sit randomly!" A loudspeaker announced.

Pan Han and the other nine sat in one vehicle. Inside, there was a driver and a guide.

Once everyone was seated, the guide handed each Trial a small package.

"Everyone, please check your packages and take out the wristband inside to wear it on your wrist."

Pan Han followed the instructions, took out the wristband, and put it on tightly.

"We are about to head to the first stage, Zombie Siege. This wristband can display your vital signs, location information, kill count, and other details. Do not lose it," the guide explained.

At this moment, the large convoy began to depart, and the dust obscured the Trial base.

Pan Han silently nodded in Cheng Xiao's direction, finally collecting his thoughts for the last time, ready to face the Trial.

"Thirty kilometers away is the Zombie Siege area. Once inside, you can attack zombies at will, but you cannot attack other Trials. The equipment we provide has a positioning device, which you can find by following the prompts on your wristband," the guide explained expressionlessly.

"I say, are there really billions inside?" a flat-headed tough guy asked.

"You'll know when you go in."

"Tch, so mysterious. I'm telling you, if there are too few zombies, it won't be enough for me to kill!"

"You can only come out after killing them all. How many zombies are released is up to the Twelve Palaces," another short man said coldly.

Pan Han didn't speak, pondering in his heart that if billions were truly released, he didn't know how long it would take for these two hundred-odd people to kill them all.

The tough guy snorted and said nothing more. The atmosphere in the vehicle became oppressive, and everyone was silently preparing for the upcoming Trial.

After about ten minutes, the armored convoy slowly stopped.

A city surrounded by high walls appeared before everyone's eyes.

More than twenty armored vehicles scattered, driving towards the base of the high wall. Each vehicle was approximately half a kilometer apart.

Another half an hour passed, and the armored vehicles were evenly spread around the high wall.

The guide stood up, looking directly at the people inside the vehicle.

"We have arrived at Zombie Siege. Please note, upon entering the city, you can only act alone until you complete the first stage of the mission," he said clearly, his tone cold.

The armored vehicle's door opened, and a cold gust of wind blew in.

Bang! A flare shot into the sky, and a gap opened in the high wall. The guide motioned for everyone to walk towards the gap.

Pan Han took a deep breath and silently chanted, "Inside and outside the high wall, all is destiny!"

Bang! The gap in the high wall closed.

The Trial officially began!

All the Trials surveyed the city environment.

The surroundings were a gray expanse, with broken walls and ruins, silent and eerie, as if zombie figures could appear at any moment.

The only difference from other dilapidated cities was the abundance of tall buildings here.

They took a deep breath of the cold air, as if they could smell the scent of blood and death in the air.

"That's it? It's not as scary as our side! I'm leaving first, you guys take your time looking." A Trial suddenly rushed out, heading straight for the nearest tall building.

After he left, the other Trials also began to slowly disperse and explore.

Pan Han looked around, identified another tall building, and headed straight for it.

He wanted to find a vantage point to see the overall situation.

Also, where are the zombies?

Why couldn't he sense any presence at all?

So strange, so eerie!

Pan Han walked faster and faster, his figure flickering through the empty streets, the gravel under his feet crunching.

He hurried through street after street, heading straight for his target tall building.

He arrived at the building, pushed open the half-fallen main door, and a musty smell assailed him.

The lobby was empty. Pan Han looked left and right and found a stairwell.

He didn't stop, directly entered the stairwell, and began to climb.

First floor, second floor, third floor...

The rapid ascent made his breathing a little hurried, but it did not affect his speed. After each floor, he would pause briefly, listening to the sounds around him.

However, the silence seemed to swallow a person, with only his own breathing and heartbeat echoing in his ears.

Suddenly, an ominous premonition struck him.

It felt like something was watching him.

Pan Han stopped, suddenly surveying his surroundings.

Next to the stairs was a door without a window, as if there was a threat inside.

Pan Han had no weapons in his hand, so he didn't dare to be overconfident.

He could only press his ear against the door to listen for movement inside.

It was still a deadly silence, terrifyingly quiet.

"If I die, I die! I'm here to kill zombies." Pan Han took a deep breath and twisted the doorknob.

Creak! The door opened.

"Holy crap!" Pan Han shouted out immediately.

It turned out to be a conference room of over a thousand square meters, densely packed with zombies.

Each one had its eyes closed, in a state of slumber.

The sound of the door opening immediately woke them.

"Damn it, I was wondering why I couldn't see a single zombie outside. Turns out they were hidden in the building. They knew we would occupy the high ground to observe. Luckily, I didn't go to the rooftop, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to run."

In an instant, Pan Han's mind raced, understanding many things.

He turned and ran!

So many zombies, he definitely couldn't fight them all.

However, the zombies had been woken up and were now chasing Pan Han.

When Pan Han ran downstairs, he found that many nearby buildings also had Trials running out.

Well! They were all people who had fallen into the same trap as him.

At this moment, his wristband vibrated with a reminder, and a holographic map projected in front of him.

It was covered with various red dots, flickering, indicating locations.

Pan Han thought, if you don't trigger the zombie awakening, they won't issue weapons.

Twelve Palaces, you really are meticulous in your work!

How insidious!

However, the red dots only showed locations, not weapon names. So what he could get was just a matter of luck.

Pan Han quickly located the nearest red dot and headed straight for it.

Hordes of zombies were chasing him from behind.

Fortunately, the wristband's prompt was quite user-friendly; the closer he got to the red dot, the stronger the vibration alert.

After running about thirty meters, Pan Han arrived at the red dot.

Indeed, a military-green small box was placed before him.

Pan Han quickly opened it, and his nose almost twisted in anger!

"You only gave me a frying pan, Twelve Palaces, are you serious?"

Pan Han held the frying pan and swung it twice at the sky, expressing his dissatisfaction.

But now was not the time to be picky; having something was better than nothing.

Fortunately, this frying pan was quite sturdy, probably cast iron.

It should be fine for hitting zombie heads.

Just then, the zombie horde had closed in. Pan Han let out a shout and swung the pan, beginning to kill!

One! Two! Three...

He shouted every time he knocked one dead.

At the same time, his wristband began to vibrate, constantly displaying the kill count.

Meanwhile, in the broadcast hall of the Trial base. Cheng Xiao and other companions watched the live broadcast.

The large screen displayed the kill counts of 288 Trials.

The Twelve Palaces had specially dispatched hundreds of drones for the broadcast, filming above the city.

There were professional commentators and directors in the broadcast hall to ensure the live broadcast quality.

Cheng Xiao watched the live broadcast on the big screen, but it didn't switch to Pan Han for a long time, so she could only stare at the data screen.
