83: Connections are meant to be used

Pan Han’s father and Second Aunt’s Husband were both a bit slow to react.

Where did this child get the money after only working for a few months? This wasn't a few thousand or tens of thousands. It could be hundreds of thousands of yuan!

The two followed Pan Han and scurried back to the ward.

“Second Aunt, I basically understand your condition. Don’t worry about anything, just leave everything to me,” Pan Han said, sitting by the bed and holding Second Aunt’s hand.

Pan Han’s mother’s eyes widened instantly.

“Son, what do you mean?”

Second Aunt was also a bit disbelieving, thinking Pan Han was just anxious and saying comforting words: “Nephew, you just graduated and started working, don’t try to be strong. It’s fine if everyone just sends me home later.”

“Mom, Second Aunt, I’m telling the truth. I have money now. We’ll go to Jingdu to find a hospital tomorrow.”

Pan Han said with a calm tone and firm voice.

Seeing him so determined, although everyone still couldn’t believe it, their expressions brightened considerably.

Humans are such strange animals; sometimes, hope is more precious than anything!

Second Aunt, however, didn’t show much change. At this moment, she was still thinking about how to save the money for her children and how to spend her remaining days peacefully at home without troubling everyone.

“Second Aunt, your nephew not only has money, but he also started his own company. A few days ago, he even gave my parents some money so they could go out and have fun,” Pan Han said, showing everyone the car keys in his hand.

When everyone saw the Mercedes car keys, they believed his words even more. At this moment, there was a glimmer of light in Second Aunt’s eyes.

“Second Aunt, let me make a phone call.” Pan Han decided to give everyone the final reassurance.

“Hello, Doudou?” That’s right, he dialed Wang Doudou’s number. Even if he owed her a favor, he had to make the call; it was a matter of life and death.

“Hmm? Who is it?” A groggy voice came from the other end of the phone.

“It’s me, Pan Han! Are you still not awake?”

“Oh! It’s you! Yeah, I played until 3 AM last night. What time is it now, and you’re already calling me?” Wang Doudou said lazily.

“Wake up, it’s urgent.”

“Ah? What is it?!” Wang Doudou immediately woke up when she heard Pan Han’s anxious tone.

“Do you have reliable hospital connections in Jingdu?”

“Isn’t that obvious? What does my family do?”

“Okay, my Second Aunt is sick, suspected of having a brain tumor. I want you to arrange a hospital and a specialist for her,” Pan Han said concisely, no longer planning to be polite.

“When will you arrive? Tell me the time, and I’ll handle the rest.” Wang Doudou didn’t waste words either.

“Tomorrow afternoon at the latest.”

“Okay, my family has shares in a high-end private hospital. Let’s arrange for your Second Aunt to go there. I’ll find a specialist for you right away.”

“Alright, it’s urgent, thank you for the trouble. I’ll thank you separately later.”

“Don’t worry. The best specialist, the best private room.”

Pan Han hung up the phone. Everyone looked shocked. What kind of connections did this kid have to get things done so quickly??

“It’s settled, let’s get discharged. We’re going to Jingdu tomorrow.”

“Nephew, it’s settled already?” Second Aunt propped herself up and sat.

“Second Aunt, just believe me. Come on, let’s get discharged, go back and have a good meal, and head to Jingdu tomorrow.”

Pan Han didn’t plan to wait. He urged everyone to get moving: those who needed to get their deposits back did so, and those who needed to pack did so.

After half an hour of bustling, things were mostly done, and everyone walked downstairs.

“Second Aunt, Mom and Dad, the three of you ride in my car. Second Aunt’s Husband, you ride in First Aunt’s car,” Pan Han said, pressing the car key.

Chirp, chirp! The maybach chirped, and its daytime running lights instantly lit up. (Keyless entry system’s inner thought: Actually, you don’t need to press it.)

“Oh my, great-nephew, is this your car?” First Aunt was sharp-eyed and immediately recognized it as a maybach.

“A friend lent it to me.”

“Good heavens, a car worth over three million can be lent to you. What kind of relationship do you two have?” First Aunt quickly gossiped.

“Just ordinary friends. Come on, get in the car, let’s go home first.”

Pan Han called everyone to get in the car, arranged Second Aunt in the back, and drove straight to his own home.

After everyone arrived at Pan Han’s house, Second Aunt went into the room to lie down. The others briefly discussed in the living room who would go with them.

Finally, it was decided that Pan Han’s mother and Second Aunt’s Husband would go. His father would stay home, acting as a backup and looking after Second Aunt’s two children. First Aunt and First Aunt also weren’t idle, heading to the kitchen to cook for everyone.

Just as they settled down, Wang Doudou’s WeChat message came through: “It’s already handled. Waiting for your news tomorrow. Here’s the address.”

“Very efficient. Thanks.” Pan Han replied to her WeChat after seeing the address.

Right after he replied, Yan Xiaoli’s WeChat message also came: “Pan Han, is someone in your family sick? I heard from Wang Doudou.”

“Yes, Second Aunt is sick, and her condition isn’t very good.”

“I’ll go tomorrow too, to help take care of her.”

“No need, it’s too much trouble. You go take care of your own business.”

“Company matters, there’s not much to do. Doudou found someone specifically to run things.”

“Alright, if you want to come, then come here. I’ll share the address with you.” Pan Han felt that having another woman to help might be more convenient, and she could also take turns with his mother.

“Okay, Doudou and I will wait for you at the hospital tomorrow.”

“Alright. I won’t talk anymore, I’m going to have a few words with my family.”

“Okay, you’re busy.”

Pan Han’s mother watched from the side, and only after he put down his phone did she lean over and say, “Son, what exactly happened to you these past few years in Beijing? Why are you suddenly so rich?”

“Mom, well, you probably wouldn’t understand if I told you,” Pan Han hadn’t thought about how to tell his family and wanted to gloss over it.

“Hey, you kid! You’re paying for treatment, contacting connections, and even have friends lending you such an expensive car. We have to ask, what if you’re dealing drugs, your old man here will be the first to beat you up!” Pan Han’s father clearly had been holding it in for a long time, and now he blurted it all out.

Seeing this situation, Pan Han knew he couldn’t get away without making up an excuse.

“Hehe, Dad, what your son is doing makes more money than drug dealing.”

“Ah??”

This time, even Second Aunt, who was lying in the room, couldn’t help but wobble out to the living room.

“Nephew, what exactly have you been doing? We can’t go down a criminal path! It’s okay if we’re poor, at worst, Second Aunt’s illness won’t be treated, but you can’t go to jail.”

“Second Aunt, why did you come out?” Seeing this, Pan Han quickly helped Second Aunt to the sofa.

“Yes, yes, yes, Pan’er, your Second Aunt is right, you can’t go astray.” Second Aunt’s Husband echoed Second Aunt.

“Listen to me, don’t be so nervous.”

Pan Han first calmed everyone down, then his mind raced, and an idea struck him.

“Do you know about Bitcoin?”

“I know about Pit Bulls, those things are fierce.” Pan Han’s father said earnestly.

“Get over there, let the child finish talking.” Mom slapped her husband, making his thigh tremble.

“Bitcoin is a kind of virtual currency that uses blockchain technology. It’s very popular abroad. When I was in school, I saved some money from working and bought Bitcoin. Now I’ve made a lot of money,” Pan Han spun a lie for them.

“Ah? What’s virtual currency? What’s blockchain?”

“I can’t explain it clearly, but it’s basically something you can buy things with, you can trade, but there’s no paper money issued,” Pan Han scratched his head, lies were hard to make up.

“Then how much did you make?” At this moment, First Aunt came out of the kitchen and started gossiping again.

“I have a million or so. And I also got to know some rich people. See, it came in handy today.”

“Yes, yes, yes, connections are meant to be used! Nephew, you did well!” First Aunt praised.
