113: Invitation Card
Li Bailong and Li Xiaofeng exchanged glances upon hearing this, then chuckled.
They knew their younger brother was about to stir up trouble again.
"Alright then, you'll lead the team out first thing tomorrow morning. We'll cut them to pieces! Bring the pretty boy back for your sister, and as for the pretty girls, you can do as you please." Li Bailong didn't ask for details; instead, he immediately discussed the spoils of war.
"Third Brother, remember to capture their leader alive. I want to have some fun with him when you return," Li Xiaofeng also made her request.
"Mm." Li Qinglong remained impassive, coldly assenting. Only his gaze grew colder.
...
Ah (ˉ▽ ̄~) Achoo!
Pan Han had just opened his eyes that morning when he sneezed.
"What's going on? Am I catching a cold? Impossible!" Pan Han was puzzled. Given his current physical condition, it was impossible for him to catch a cold or fever.
"Which son of a bitch is talking about me?" Pan Han rolled over, sensing something was wrong. A strange tension welled up in his heart.
He pulled out his phone and checked the time; it was only 6 AM.
Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he got up to go for a run.
He had just put on his clothes when, ah (ˉ▽ ̄~) Achoo!
Another sneeze.
"Damn, something's not right. I need to go check it out." Pan Han didn't disturb his family; instead, he quietly pushed open the door and headed straight for the maybach.
After starting the car, he drove directly to the outskirts of the county town, found an empty, deserted spot to park, and, seeing no one around, immediately teleported.
With a spatial ripple, Pan Han appeared in the small room on the second floor.
At this moment, Cheng Xiao was still sleeping on his bed, completely unaware.
Seeing this, Pan Han secretly leaned in and kissed her forehead. Cheng Xiao smiled slightly in her sleep.
"Silly girl, you sleep so soundly now. Aren't you afraid of being ambushed?"
But how could he know that it was only after he arrived that Cheng Xiao gradually regained her sense of security?
Now, regardless of whether Pan Han was at the base or not, she slept in this room every night.
Pan Han didn't disturb her further; instead, he gently pushed open the door and headed straight for the main hall.
"Holy crap! What the hell is this?!" As soon as Pan Han went downstairs, he saw the mech standing in the main hall.
Qin Zhong was exercising in the yard and, hearing Pan Han's voice, rushed inside.
"Sir, you're back."
"What happened?" Pan Han knew something had gone wrong as soon as he saw the situation.
Qin Zhong took a few minutes to briefly explain Mo Li's matter to Pan Han.
"Twelve Palaces! Anti-aircraft guns! Invisibility cloak! Mech! And a letter. That's a lot of information!" Pan Han frowned after listening.
"Indeed. It was very sudden; we weren't prepared at all."
Pan Han stroked his chin, thought for a moment, and felt that the matters here wouldn't be resolved quickly.
"In half an hour, gather everyone from the Dawn Squad in the main hall. I'm going to take care of some personal business first. We'll act separately." Pan Han finished speaking and, without waiting for Qin Zhong's reaction, headed straight for the second floor.
Finding an empty small room, Pan Han quickly teleported back.
"Two beauties, I won't be able to return to the capital for a while. I'll contact you in a few days." Pan Han left a message for Wang Doudou and Yan Xiaoli in the group chat.
Then he drove back downstairs to his own building, left a message for his mother, saying he had an urgent matter to attend to, asked her to take good care of Second Aunt, and also told his maternal uncle to expedite the food factory's progress.
"Human Cannon, Level One Ready!" Pan Han reclined his seat, silently chanting the slogan!
With a spatial ripple, he teleported again.
This time, as soon as he landed, Cheng Xiao woke up.
"Oh, Sir, you're back!" Cheng Xiao rubbed her eyes, confirming it was indeed Pan Han.
"Mm. I already came once just now. I saw you sleeping, so I didn't wake you."
"I thought I vaguely felt someone kiss me just now. So it really was you!" Cheng Xiao suddenly blushed.
"Stop being silly, quickly get dressed and go downstairs." Pan Han patted Cheng Xiao's butt.
"Oh! There's been a lot happening these past two days you weren't here." Cheng Xiao knew at a glance that they were going to discuss Mo Li's matter, so she quickly put on her pants.
"Qin Zhong told me downstairs just now. Let's go, we'll talk about it now."
Two minutes later, both of them appeared in the main hall, where everyone else was already waiting.
"No more nonsense, let me see the letter."
Cheng Xiao quickly took it out of her pocket and handed it to him.
Hiss! Pan Han tore open the envelope. Inside was only a black card, edged with gold, shimmering brightly in the sunlight.
Two lines of text were written in the middle of the black card's front.
The top line: Billion Zombie Trial Ground. The font was blood-red, as if written with fresh blood.
The bottom line: Invitation Card. The font was hot-stamped gold.
Pan Han and the others were dumbfounded. What did this mean?
He flipped it over. On the back was a circular design with 12 avatars in the center, each representing one of the Twelve Palaces. Mo Li's Aries Palace was prominently placed first.
"Why does this look so familiar?" Pan Han looked at the names and recalled an anime.
"Sir, are we going to see Mo Li now?" Qin Zhong found this black card very strange and wanted to figure it out quickly.
"No need, I'm already here!" At this moment, Mo Li's voice came from the doorway.
Everyone was surprised and looked up.
Who else could it be but Mo Li?
"Oh, where's Second Sister?" Qin Zhong opened his walkie-talkie and made an urgent call.
"Qin Laoda, don't panic, she's behind me." Mo Li smiled slightly.
"You are Mo Li?" Pan Han was somewhat displeased that Mo Li could move so easily within the base. His eyes flashed with anger.
Cheng Xiao, sharp-eyed, noticed something was wrong and tried to stop Pan Han, but unfortunately, she was a step too late.
Mo Li merely moved his shoulder slightly, and a wave of air surged out of nowhere, a powerful pressure rushing straight towards them.
Pan Han was instantly knocked off balance, almost falling.
Fortunately, everyone quickly helped him steady himself.
"Such a powerful aura!" Pan Han felt as if his internal organs had been repeatedly flattened by a rolling pin, an indescribable discomfort.
"You are Pan Han! Let's talk." Mo Li finished his display and, without ceremony, walked directly to the sofa and sat down.
"You are Mo Li!" Pan Han rubbed his stomach and also sat down.
"Indeed, that's me. Have you read the letter?"
"I have. Are you planning to invite me?"
"Yes."
"What is the Billion Zombie Trial Ground?" Pan Han still felt uncomfortable, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and quickly took a puff.
"This is a new Trial organized by our Twelve Palaces. The purpose is to select some promising individuals for future cooperation," Mo Li explained.
"Cooperation? It should be more like becoming your slaves, right?"
"Haha, Pan Han, do you think I'm joking?"
"Haven't you all done it this way before?"
"That's right, so we don't lack slaves. We just lack interesting people. This world is already finished. Why not do something fun?" Mo Li was unconcerned and also lit a cigarette.
"So, who can participate in this Trial Ground? What are the benefits of participating? What will be the outcome if one doesn't participate?" Pan Han's mind raced as he fired off questions.
"Good, now you're acting a bit more like a base leader." Mo Li gave him an admiring look.
"Mr. Mo, you suddenly appeared here, giving us equipment and invitation cards. Actually, I'm not very interested in this Trial; I just want to understand the pros and cons. That's reasonable, isn't it?" Pan Han saw that the other party was starting to praise him and found it hard to get angry, as one doesn't hit a smiling face.
"Very reasonable. However, I'm afraid that once you hear it, you won't be able to resist wanting to go."
