412: Sister Cheng Xiao

"Lying??" Pan Han turned back, his face full of disbelief.

In his memory, Ellie was obedient to him and would never lie.

Why would she suddenly bring this up after being reborn?

"Yes, Boss. Since I've been reborn, I must confess to you, otherwise I won't be able to sleep soundly. But..."

Ellie looked troubled, as if she had committed some unforgivable crime.

"But what..." Pan Han was even a little nervous; he was afraid Ellie would reveal some earth-shattering secret.

"Boss, can I ask you to forgive me? Because this lie is a bit malicious."

"Go ahead, I will definitely forgive you." Pan Han took a deep breath, showing a firm expression.

He knew what kind of person Ellie was; even if she lied, it was likely forced upon her.

Moreover, she had now been reborn in the apocalypse, so what was there that couldn't be forgiven?

"When I said I was pregnant before, I actually wasn't."

Ellie bit her lip and said softly, her voice so low it was almost inaudible. If Pan Han were not an Intermediate Evolver, he would have definitely asked her to repeat it.

"You weren't pregnant??"

This lie was somewhat unexpected for Pan Han; the blow was neither big nor small, but it stuck in his throat like a fishbone.

Looking at it from another angle, even if she had deceived him back then, there didn't seem to be any loss at the moment.

However, her saying she wasn't pregnant did make Pan Han feel a bit disappointed.

He had already prepared to be a father, although Ellie had died once and the child was gone anyway.

"Yes. We female assassins have all undergone sterilization surgery," Ellie said cautiously again.

"Hiss!" Pan Han gasped; he had looked through the Knight Order files before but hadn't seen this.

"Boss, these are just minor rules; I guess you wouldn't know."

Pan Han nodded noncommittally, but now was definitely not the time to investigate whether she had lied. Besides, Ellie could have said nothing, and Pan Han wouldn't have found out anyway.

But since she confessed voluntarily, it showed she wanted a clean start and to be completely open with Pan Han.

Thinking of this, Pan Han's heart warmed; this girl was no different from Cheng Xiao.

So he gently hugged Ellie and kissed her forehead, saying, "It's okay. As long as you're by my side, that's enough."

"But according to the Knight Order's rules, lying to the Sect Leader is a serious crime." Ellie pouted, her expression still a bit nervous.

"I am the Sect Leader, and if I say it's fine, it's fine." Pan Han pinched her thin cheek, pulling up a small piece of tender skin.

"Oh! Thank you, Boss." Hearing him say this, Ellie finally felt relieved and smiled, snuggling into Pan Han's arms.

"Look, below is our Dawn Base; this will be your new home from now on."

Pan Han held Ellie and leaned near the porthole, showing her his masterpiece in the apocalypse.

Ellie leaned forward to look down and could clearly see several large areas of buildings.

After more than half a year of desperate construction, Dawn Base had already taken initial shape.

With the main city combined with several sub-bases, it was no different from a small town.

"It seems the apocalypse is quite interesting." Ellie had thought of some games she had played while flying over.

"Am I sure I've been reborn, or was my memory uploaded to the cloud?"

"The Knight Order doesn't have this technology, right?"

"Is the Boss next to me really him?"

After the conversation ended, many thoughts popped into Ellie's mind. After all, everything before her was too surreal, yet incredibly real.

It gave one an extremely contradictory feeling.

Cheng Xiao had already learned that Pan Han was bringing Ellie back and had made many preparations in advance.

Dozens of people were holding a large banner around the aircraft landing site, which could be seen clearly from a thousand meters in the air.

"Look, everyone is welcoming you." Pan Han pointed to the ground; he knew immediately that this was Cheng Xiao's work.

"Warmly welcome the return of our good sister Ellie!" Ellie read it word by word.

"If nothing goes wrong, you are now the third sister. The eldest sister is Cheng Xiao, who stays at the base to watch the house, and the second sister is Dili Abasi, who leads the team on expeditions."

"Boss, are you saying that you have two other beauties keeping you company here?" Ellie finally understood what "sister" meant.

"That's not the point; the point is that you're home." Pan Han immediately laughed it off without answering directly.

"Haha, Boss, you don't need to be nervous. If this is the apocalypse, the women who follow you will live a good life. Naturally, the more the better; saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda." The previous Ellie didn't care how many women Pan Han had, and naturally, she wouldn't care after being reborn.

"Uh, I didn't mean that, I didn't mean that!" Pan Han was seen through, his little thoughts exposed, and he quickly waved his hands.

"Giggle! Boss, let me serve you tonight, okay?" Ellie rarely saw Pan Han like this; she was so happy that she volunteered.

"You just got reborn; shouldn't you take a few days to rest? In case I break you, you'll have to go back for rework."

"Oh, you're annoying."

Ten minutes later, the plane landed. After the cabin door opened, Cheng Xiao immediately came up to greet them.

She had seen Ellie's head before, so she naturally recognized the peerless beauty in front of her.

Only now she looked younger and more beautiful, and was faintly exuding the aura of an Intermediate Evolver.

"Commander, you're back. This must be Ai Li, right?"

Cheng Xiao's gaze was entirely on Ellie, only giving Pan Han a polite greeting.

"Yeah, everything went smoothly. Starting today, our base has added another family member." Pan Han happily pulled Ellie and Cheng Xiao up.

"Commander, you take her back to the villa first. I'll arrange for the Twelve Palaces pilots and supplies."

After saying this, Cheng Xiao waved her hand, and two base members came up to help Pan Han and the others carry their backpacks and lead the way to the newly renovated villa.

"Thank you for your hard work, Cheng Xiao. Put in more supplies; Mr. Mo contributed a lot this time. We can't treat him poorly."

"Don't worry, he's my big brother. It's all prepared. You should hurry and take Ai Li back to rest."

Leaving Cheng Xiao, Pan Han took Ellie and walked towards the base.

Along the way, all the members saluted Pan Han, a scene that made Ellie's heart surge with emotion.

This man beside her was surprisingly so charming.

He could build his own forces in both worlds.

This place called Dawn Base, although the buildings were very ordinary, low, and earthy, under the pressure of surviving the apocalypse, people burst out with a desire for the future.

This feeling was very strange.

Outside it was gloomy, but inside the base, it was full of vitality.

All of this was brought by Pan Han.

Is he really a god?

Thinking that she was going to survive and fight here, Ellie felt herself ignite in an instant.

"I am a genuine assassin!" Ellie thought to herself.

"Look, Cheng Xiao found us a new villa." Pan Han pointed to the slightly exaggerated three-story building in front of them.

Other buildings were earth-gray, but this one had its facade repainted and looked like new.

"It seems Sister Cheng Xiao has put in a lot of effort." Ellie also nodded.

"Let's go inside and take a look. It wasn't here before I left. It's only been a few days; Cheng Xiao is really good at getting things done."
