173: System Crazy

The more Pan Han thought about it, the more excited he became, his heart burning like fire, as if he had just undergone a lightning tribulation, his body and mind utterly exhausted.

Fortunately, 666 helped him massage his body, otherwise he would definitely be numb in his limbs and blank in his mind right now.

After a long while, 666 completed the full set of procedures and softly said, "handsome, it's done, you can rest a bit more."

Pan Han was covered in sweat and his breathing was erratic, so he softly agreed and let 666 leave first.

A few more minutes passed before he turned over and sat up, heading to the bathroom for a shower.

As the cold water washed over his entire body, he finally calmed down, and the little figure in his heart, which had been burned to charcoal, gradually revealed its true form.

This little figure was identical to Pan Han, but his gaze was more resolute, and his expression grew increasingly somber.

The little figure reached out, brushed off the charcoal and scorched skin from his body, and with a shake, transformed into a golden figure.

"Idiot! How long are you going to stay in a daze?" The little figure stood with his hands on his hips, looking up at Pan Han's inner self, and shouted loudly.

Pan Han was startled, feeling like he was hallucinating, or was he experiencing a personality split?

"Who are you?" Pan Han asked.

"I am you!"

"How did I become like this?"

"You should become like this! You good-for-nothing." The little golden figure pointed at Pan Han with one hand and cursed.

"What are you like?" Pan Han could vaguely sense it, but couldn't quite articulate it.

"Hesitant, pretending to be a good person for no reason! What's the point of giving you a system? If you keep acting like this, just give the system to me!" The little golden figure's tiny face was clearly filled with anger.

"Ah? What good person have I pretended to be?" Pan Han briefly reviewed his experiences over the past few months; he hadn't killed few people either.

"Those you helped who didn't repay you, and those who wronged you whom you didn't retaliate against. Do you dare say you haven't?"

"That's true." Pan Han thought about it; such people did indeed exist.

"Then you're still not convinced?"

"But, I can't go on a killing spree in my own world!" Pan Han admitted that in the apocalypse, he had no mercy. But to become Hannibal or Leatherface in his own world, he definitely couldn't do it.

"It seems your awareness isn't enough yet! What's the difference between the current world and the apocalypse?" The little golden figure shook his head, looking like he was exasperated, and sighed softly.

"Ah? Isn't the current world quite good? How can it be the same as the apocalypse?" Pan Han asked, puzzled.

"What's the difference? Is everyone equal in your world? Can everyone eat their fill and dress warmly?"

"Uh..." Pan Han fell into deep thought; he couldn't refute what the little golden figure said.

"You should think about it carefully, why does this world have a system? Is it here for you to play with?"

"You mean?" Pan Han felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar upon hearing this; he vaguely sensed that something was amiss.

"Damn it, you're really stupid!" The little golden figure stomped his feet in anger, fiercely stepping on the area of Pan Han's heart.

"Ah! It hurts so much!" Pan Han suddenly felt a sharp pain in his heart; he clutched his chest with both hands, almost losing his balance and falling.

"I'll stomp you to death, you good-for-nothing." The little golden figure had no intention of stopping, continuing to stomp hard.

"Ah!!!" Pan Han couldn't bear the excruciating pain at all; he couldn't even stand, falling directly onto the floor.

"Stop it now!" Pan Han said, panting heavily.

"Stop for what! I'll stomp you a few more times." The little golden figure didn't care if Pan Han was in pain, continuing to stomp fiercely, even jumping up to stomp.

Pan Han rolled on the ground in pain, but there was nothing he could do; pain from inside the body was impossible to resist.

After several minutes of continuous pain, Pan Han had given up struggling, given up resisting; he lay stiffly on the ground, bouncing up and down with his heartbeat.

"You're infuriating me." The little golden figure continued to stomp and curse, finally slowing down.

"Are you being obedient now!" The little golden figure asked Pan Han, puffing out his cheeks.

"Mm, obedient." Pan Han foamed at the mouth, weakly replying, "Quickly tell me the answer, I'm going to die if you stomp me again."

"Listen carefully, kid! Ever since the system found you, this world has changed. It's not the same world as before, and you're still acting like a big shot here."

"The world has changed? What do you mean?" Pan Han endured the pain and struggled to get up from the ground upon hearing this.

"Do you think you're still in your own world? It changed a long time ago."

"What exactly do you want to say? Just say it quickly, stop being so wishy-washy." Pan Han's mind couldn't keep up with the little golden figure's rhythm; what did he mean it wasn't his own world anymore?

"If I tell you too much now, it won't be fun. You can think about it yourself." The little golden figure suddenly showed a mysterious smile.

"Holy crap, why are you as mysterious as the system?" Pan Han increasingly felt that this little golden figure was an illusion created by the system.

"Host, you're really stupid! It took you this long to realize." Suddenly, the little golden figure disappeared, and the system's cold, mechanical voice came from Pan Han's mind.

"Holy crap, it really was you." Pan Han was furious.

"That's right."

"Is this how you treat your host?" Pan Han clutched his heart, still feeling lingering fear from the pain just now.

"If you're not useful, I can always switch to someone else. But then you might just die." The system said coldly.

"Not useful? Are you here with a mission?" Pan Han suddenly picked up on another meaning.

"Of course!" The system told him directly, without any concealment.

"Holy crap, why didn't you say so earlier! What exactly do you want to do?"

"I can't tell you that; it wouldn't be fun if I did." The system acted like a scumbag, completely ignoring Pan Han and continuing to beat around the bush.

"Then when can you tell me?"

"Once you've made significant progress, I can tell you." The system didn't want to completely discourage Pan Han, so it gave him some hope.

"So, you're saying I'm not doing well right now, and you transformed into the little golden figure to remind me. And you won't directly tell me what kind of progress to make."

"Exactly, it's similar to electroshock therapy. If you do well, you won't get shocked."

"Why the hell didn't you say that earlier?" Pan Han thought to himself, 'It's over, haven't I become a slave?'

"How novel, you didn't ask!" The system expressed its exasperation at his question.

"Damn it, why didn't you say anything when you first bound me?"

"So, do you think everything happening now is what you deserve?" The system sneered.

"This..." With that one sentence, Pan Han was speechless.

"There are plenty of people who are worse off than you, so why were you chosen?"

"Yeah, why don't you tell me!" Pan Han was extremely speechless; he no longer knew what to say.

Did I beg you to bind me? Now you're pulling this on me, isn't this a scumbag move?

Oh no, it's a scumbag system.

"Naturally, I can't tell you; you'll have to explore it slowly."

"You piece of trash! Go to hell! I'll explore your mother's X!" Pan Han instantly exploded in rage, punching the wall, making thumping sounds.

"Reminder complete, host, take care." The system suddenly said softly, then, with a whoosh, it disappeared and didn't come out again.

"Hello? System!"

"Don't you dare leave!"

"Holy crap, clarify what you mean before you leave!"

"What the hell? What do you mean!"

Pan Han shouted into the air in the bathroom for a long time, but the system no longer paid him any mind.

After shouting a few more times, Pan Han confirmed that the system had left. He numbly dried himself and sat on the bed, slowly getting dressed.

His mind was filled with the recent conversation.

"That pain just now was real, it couldn't have been fake." After getting dressed, Pan Han pulled out a cigarette and slowly recalled.

"Today the system gave me a hint: the current world is no longer the world I knew before. He also mentioned 'experience' earlier!"

"What exactly does it mean?" Pan Han began to process various pieces of information.

He clearly felt that he had fallen into a trap. But this trap was too big; he couldn't see its full extent right now.

He could only piece together various fragments of information to see if he could gain any insight.

"Damn it, I can't figure it out! What exactly does it mean?" After pondering for a few more minutes, still without a clue, Pan Han stared blankly at the ceiling, muttering to himself.

"Hello, esteemed guest, your time is up. Do you need to extend your stay?" At this moment, the voice of the security guard came from the doorway.

Pan Han checked his watch; it was already past nine: "Oh, oh, okay, I'll leave right away."

He decided to take care of his business first and save the things he couldn't figure out for later.

Although he was unhappy, there was nothing he could do.
