75: Raising Rabbits in the End of the World

When Pan Han saw the wild rabbits lie down to rest, the stone that had been hanging in his heart finally fell.

It seemed he had passed this hurdle.

He hadn't expected that food could not only attract talent but also subdue wild rabbits!

The rabbits were in various poses under the tree; some were strolling around, some were grooming their ears, and some were lying on the ground resting.

Pan Han had been busy for a long time, so he wasn't in a hurry to go down. Instead, he lit another cigarette to relax first.

Just like that, a harmonious scene between humans and rabbits was born!

The leading rabbit, however, did not rest. Instead, it sat upright on the ground, occasionally looking at its companions and occasionally at Pan Han.

After Pan Han finished his cigarette, he also noticed the leading rabbit's actions.

So he waved at the leading rabbit.

The rabbit, seeing him, also wiggled its two front paws at him.

Suddenly, a bold idea flashed through Pan Han's mind.

Could he raise a batch of wild rabbits??

So he slowly slid down the tree, sliding a few meters and then looking down, finding that the rabbits had no reaction.

When Pan Han landed, the rabbits slowly got up and all stood behind the leading rabbit, neatly lined up in a row.

Pan Han didn't know how to start, so he just looked at them.

The leading rabbit wiggled its front paws at him again, indicating that Pan Han could approach.

However, Pan Han was still cautious and didn't move. Instead, he asked, "Are you full?"

"Chirp!" the leading rabbit chirped.

Pan Han saw that they seemed full, so he slowly moved forward, approaching gently.

The rabbits were a bit restless, but seeing that the leading rabbit didn't move, they all stood still.

About half a meter away, Pan Han stopped and slowly extended his hand, wanting to pat the rabbit's head.

The leading rabbit saw his action, lowered its head slightly, and let him pat it.

"Hoh! Feeding them works, they even let me pat their heads," Pan Han muttered to himself.

I'm petting rabbits in the apocalypse, can you believe it?

Seeing its cooperation, Pan Han simply let loose, scratching and petting it. The leading rabbit seemed to enjoy it, squinting its eyes and purring.

Pan Han petted it for over a minute before letting go.

The leading rabbit slowly opened its eyes and chirped twice at Pan Han again.

"Comfortable, right! Hehe!" Pan Han squatted down and said to the rabbit.

"Chirp chirp!"

"Then, can I pet your companions?" Pan Han said, pointing behind him.

The leading rabbit nodded and moved aside.

Pan Han walked over and petted the rabbits behind one by one.

All the rabbits were very docile and cooperative, no different from ordinary rabbits.

"So you were just hungry! You should have said so earlier, I don't have much else here, but I have plenty of food!" Pan Han stood up, looking down at the rabbits.

"Chirp chirp!"

"Okay, I understand. Go back and tell your leader this: if you want to eat in the future, come to Mountaintop Stronghold. I'll have them build a separate feeding shed for you." Pan Han secretly noted down carrots, cabbage, and other supplies to purchase.

At this moment, Reich and Wei Monk seemed to notice the situation here and hurried over.

When the two arrived, they found Pan Han talking to a group of rabbits and were at a loss, unsure whether to keep holding their guns or put them down.

"Lord Pan, what's going on?" Reich asked softly, afraid of agitating the rabbits.

"It's nothing, they were just hungry. I just fed them a batch of food. See, they've quieted down now."

"Chirp chirp!" The rabbits, seeing Reich approaching with a gun, became a bit nervous and chirped at him.

"Ah?? Fed them?" Reich was a bit disbelieving.

"Put your guns down for now, it's fine," Pan Han gestured for the two to stop holding them.

Hearing Pan Han say this, the two didn't insist and slung their guns behind their backs.

"What do we do now, my Lord?" Wei Monk asked.

"How is the base?"

"Still fighting! We two ran out alone just to find you."

"Let's go, back to mediate."

Pan Han put his hands behind his back, pretending to be an old cadre.

Ah! Hearing this, the two's jaws dropped.

Can this even be mediated?

"Leader, come with me. They're still fighting inside," Pan Han turned and said to the leading rabbit.

"Chirp chirp!" The leading rabbit nodded, led its group, and followed Pan Han towards Mountaintop Stronghold.

Reich and Wei Monk followed behind, whispering to each other, unsure whether they should step with their left foot or right foot first.

A group of three humans and a group of rabbits ambled straight towards the battlefield.

At this time, inside the stronghold, the human-rabbit melee had entered a heated phase.

Some people's knives were blunted, some rabbits' teeth were broken. Some people had lost arms and legs, and many rabbits had lost ears and tails.

Pan Han saw that both sides had suffered considerable losses and needed to be stopped quickly, so he raised his gun, fired a shot into the sky, and then shouted, "Stop!"

Upon hearing this, both humans and rabbits felt strange and looked towards them.

Three people with more than a dozen rabbits stood together.

What was going on?

"Leader, you say something too," Pan Han patted its rabbit head.

The leading rabbit understood instantly and also let out a loud chirp.

"Within the four seas, all are brothers! In the five continents, peace is precious! Stop fighting, everyone!"

The people of Mountaintop Stronghold would certainly listen to Pan Han, so they gathered their forces and assembled.

The wild rabbits didn't quite understand what Pan Han's words meant, but seeing the situation, it seemed like a ceasefire was in order, so they also withdrew from the battle and gathered together.

Pan Han found a stone platform and stood on it.

"Ahem! Everyone, listen to me. I just used a pile of food to feed the wild rabbits. They instantly quieted down and lost their will to attack. That is to say, the main reason the wild rabbits attacked us was that they were hungry."

The people of Mountaintop Stronghold listened, unable to articulate why, and could only discuss in whispers.

"From now on, outside the gate, build a feeding shed for them, and feed them at regular times every day. Then both sides will live in peace," Pan Han said loudly.

"Leader, come up and talk to your rabbits," Pan Han called to the leading rabbit.

"Chirp chirp!" The leading rabbit responded and also jumped onto the stone platform.

"Chirp chirp chirp! Chirp, chirp chirp! Chirp chirp chirp chirp!"

After hearing this, the rabbits began to chatter among themselves.

Seeing this, the leading rabbit nodded at Pan Han, indicating that communication was complete.

"Reich, come here!"

Upon hearing this, Reich quickly scurried over.

"How much food is left at Mountaintop Stronghold?"

"Only some big fruit left."

"Bring it out, give it all to the rabbits."

"Uh, yes, my Lord." Reich hesitated slightly but still carried out the order.

He called the people of Mountaintop Stronghold to bring out the big fruit.

The rabbits, hearing that there was big fruit to eat, became quite excited.

Chirping sounds were incessant.

A few minutes later, Reich and the others used wheelbarrows to bring out a large pile of fruit and stacked it in front of the rabbits.

There were about 200 wild rabbits left now, and this pile of fruit should be enough for them to eat.

"Eat! What are you waiting for?" Pan Han shouted at the rabbits.

The rabbits usually ate big fruit and recognized it, and hearing Pan Han tell them to eat quickly, over 200 rabbits all picked up big fruit and started gnawing.

It was unknown how long these rabbits had been hungry; a 5-pound big fruit was eaten in just a few minutes.

"Hmm, it seems they were starving."

At this moment, the leading rabbit chirped at Pan Han: "Chirp chirp, chirp chirp chirp."

"My Lord, what is it saying?"

"It's saying thank you to us."

"My Lord is amazing, you can even understand rabbit language."

"I don't understand, I'm just making it up."

The rabbits who finished eating the big fruit indeed quieted down, similar to the leading rabbit's behavior earlier.

The people of Mountaintop Stronghold were all amazed and stepped forward to check the rabbits, to see if they truly had no desire to attack.

After petting them several times, everyone found them indeed safe, and all came before Pan Han, bowing respectfully.

"Lord Pan is mighty!"

"Lord Pan is brilliant!"

"Lord Pan is awesome!"

Thus, a crisis was perfectly resolved by Pan Han.

No one in Mountaintop Stronghold was unconvinced; they all expressed their desire to pledge allegiance to Pan Han, and anyone who opposed would be fed to the rabbits!
