323: Recruit?
Pan Han walked away with a heavy heart, returning to the rooftop and telling everyone else to go downstairs so he could have some peace and quiet.
Once the people were rescued, he still needed to figure out how to send them all back.
However, many of these people didn't want to go back.
Some were bankrupt, some had criminal cases against them, and some even liked the living environment in the Myanmar Northern Region.
When there are many people, there are all kinds.
At that time, careful screening would be needed, but Pan Han wouldn't need to be involved in those matters.
He could just leave it all to Ellie; she had just been promoted and earned so much each year, so she needed to work more.
As for when the Myanmar Northern Region would have infighting, Pan Han didn't really care.
If they didn't kill each other, then he would just shrink the encirclement and create a sense of pressure.
Currently, the various forces in the Myanmar Northern Region were like meat on a chopping board, to be diced however he wished.
Pan Han smoked a few cigarettes, thought about many things, and his mind finally calmed down.
He opened his phone to check messages and found push notifications from several short video apps.
“Breaking News! A park in the Myanmar Northern Region voluntarily releases abducted women!”
“Footage blurred! Suspected internal strife in the Myanmar Northern Region, multiple bodies hanging upside down from trees!”
“Holy cow, did the domestic news get wind of what’s happening here?” Pan Han saw the push notification and quickly opened the app.
The first video that caught his eye was indeed shot from a third-person perspective, right when the women entered the building earlier.
It was clearly uploaded by a local resident who filmed it from a distance.
He watched another video, which was shot from outside the town's blockade line.
Someone stood behind rows of troops, filming the long blockade line, the heavily armed soldiers, and armored vehicles.
There were also many videos flowing out from the Myanmar Northern Region parks, from when Pan Han's mecha bombed the self-propelled artillery.
They didn't capture the mecha, only seeing missiles falling from the sky.
From the footage, it looked like high-altitude bombing by fighter jets.
For a while, they wouldn't suspect a mecha.
However, just because the common people couldn't see it didn't mean the governments of major countries didn't know.
Their satellites had already seen everything clearly.
Especially the Dragon Kingdom and Eagle Nation.
They also knew this was an operation by the new leader of the Knight Order.
Even Pan Han's identity as the new leader had already been grasped by several major countries.
Among those who flew with Ellie this time were people from the Dragon Kingdom National Security Department.
They were ordered to meet Pan Han and talk with him.
As for who they were, Ellie didn't know, and Ouyang Cong didn't know either.
These few people were all undercover agents who had been lurking in the Knight Order for a long time, and they were authorized to expose themselves in order to meet Pan Han as quickly as possible.
After the new leader took office, the Dragon Kingdom was fully aware of his several operations.
Based on their comprehensive judgment, a formal contact with Pan Han was necessary.
At the very least, what actions needed to be reported and negotiated had to be settled.
This operation in the Myanmar Northern Region was somewhat unexpected for the Dragon Kingdom government.
Originally, the Dragon Kingdom government had already formulated a solution and was implementing it step by step.
The recent surge in public opinion pressure was just one part of the plan.
Half an hour later, Ellie's plane landed in Myanmar.
Various vehicles had been waiting for a long time, picking up personnel and equipment, and speeding directly towards the town.
The people in the cars had various expressions and their own thoughts.
Pan Han received the notification and checked the time; it was just right for dinner.
However, the small hotel could no longer accommodate more people; the human heads displayed there would be inappropriate and scare everyone.
He arranged for someone to re-clean a small building and also had someone prepare a few separate dinners, which he would eat with Ellie.
As dusk gradually fell, the town's lights began to illuminate.
“Boss, I’m here!” Ellie finally saw Pan Han and hurried forward.
“Good, you’re here. First, arrange for everyone to rest and eat, then come find me when everything’s done.” Pan Han pinched her cheek.
The humid tropical climate made her hair damp and her forehead slightly sweaty, giving her a different kind of charm.
“Yes, Boss!” Ellie stood at attention and replied, then busied herself nervously.
Pan Han, meanwhile, went to a nearby billiard room, smoking and playing pool, waiting for Ellie to finish.
He had just set up the balls when he felt someone behind him: three tall, lean, and capable men, armed, and seemingly with very quiet listening devices, but Pan Han could hear them.
“Do you three have something to say?” Pan Han asked, his back to them.
“Leader, we three have an important matter to report.” The Middleman replied.
A dark shadow flashed before the three men's eyes, and they could no longer move.
“You actually dared to bring guns and listening devices.” Pan Han reached out, removed the items from their bodies, and threw them onto the billiard table.
The three undercover agents were dumbfounded.
Big brother, you're too fast, we haven't even gotten in the car yet!
Let us explain!
“Leader, please listen to our explanation.”
“You’d better tell me everything, or your heads won’t be safe.” Pan Han looked at them, releasing his pressure.
“Leader, we are from the Dragon Kingdom National Security Department, ordered by the state to talk with you.” The Middleman, enduring the discomfort, spoke the truth.
“Oh?” This answer was somewhat unexpected for Pan Han.
The fact that these three could come with Ellie indicated they must be trusted cadres of the Knight Order.
It seemed the three had been undercover for some time.
However, he then thought that in a peaceful world, the state would still be primary, unlike the apocalypse.
Moreover, it would be strange if an organization like the Knight Order wasn't monitored by anyone.
“How can I trust you?” Pan Han asked.
“Leader, you can contact Ouyang Cong now and have him contact the Dragon Kingdom government; they will confirm our identities.”
“Alright, wait.” Pan Han took out his phone and told Ouyang Cong the situation.
Ouyang Cong naturally knew these three, but he indeed didn't know their undercover identities.
So he quickly contacted his liaison in the government, and after repeated confirmation, he replied to Pan Han.
“Leader, their identities are indeed from the National Security Department. This subordinate handled things poorly; I didn’t discover them being undercover for so long.” Ouyang Cong said apologetically.
“It’s fine, having undercover agents isn’t a big deal. You go get busy, it’s nothing.” Pan Han hung up the phone, walked over to the three, and released their pressure points.
“Sit down and talk.” Pan Han found a table and a few chairs.
“Thank you, Leader.” The three nodded in acknowledgment and took their seats.
“Alright, since our identities are clear, don’t call me Leader anymore.”
“Nonsense, Leader is incredibly powerful and righteous; you deserve to be called Leader.”
Seeing how polite they were, Pan Han took out a cigarette, motioned for them to relax, and suggested they chat while smoking.
“You risked exposing your identities to see me; what do you want to talk about?” Pan Han asked.
“Leader, we want to re-establish a dialogue channel.”
“You already have communication with the Knight Order.”
“We want to establish a separate communication channel with you.”
“Are you trying to recruit me?” Pan Han’s heart skipped a beat, thinking, am I about to go legitimate?
“It’s not that. But you are definitely an important figure on our united front.” The Middleman said with a serious expression.
Pan Han looked at the three; he had gradually recovered from his initial shock, and the kind of authority that represented the state gradually became apparent.
