99: Cheng Xiao, don't interrupt.

"What was the result?" Seeing everyone return, Pan Han's father quickly asked for the outcome.

His mother pulled him into the bedroom and told him the result was not good; she had at most half a year left, but they were still trying to find a solution.

Lord Pan felt a sense of loss upon hearing this. In the blink of an eye, his Second Aunt, whom he had known for decades, was about to leave this world, and his heart was filled with mixed emotions.

Pan Han did not go home with everyone but stayed in the car by himself, planning the things he needed to do soon.

"This time, I can only use the potion. I'll need to disappear for a few days, and I'll use this opportunity to check on Dawn Base's development. Before I leave, I need to quickly get my uncle to set up the processing plant. Then, Dawn Base will have enough food," Pan Han mused as he smoked, making his plans.

However, recalling the past few days, he felt a sense of lingering fear.

If he were still the old Pan Han, he could only let his Second Aunt pass away. Not to mention finding a way to save her, he wouldn't even be able to come up with a few thousand yuan.

A feeling of powerlessness washed over him, and Pan Han couldn't help but lament how fate plays tricks on people.

"System, are you there?" He suddenly spoke into the air.

"Host, I am here!"

The System, which had not appeared until now, emitted a cold, mechanical sound.

"Who exactly are you? Why did you choose me?"

"I'm sorry, I don't have the authority to tell you."

"Then where are you from? Can you say?"

"I'm sorry, no!"

"Alright." Pan Han suddenly felt even more disheartened, his gaze dim.

"Monitoring host's current low mood," the System said, still coldly.

"Yes! What can you do to make me happy?" Pan Han pulled out another cigarette.

"Although I cannot tell you who I am or where I come from, I can tell you the ultimate secret of life." The System changed to a kind voice, like an old dog, quietly accompanying him.

"Holy crap, awesome!" Pan Han couldn't help but shout, thankfully he had reset the Crossing (transmigration) spell, otherwise he would have disappeared again.

"The ultimate secret of life is just two words: Experience!" The System ignored Pan Han and directly told him the answer.

"How do you mean?" Pan Han felt a slight stir in his heart, but he hadn't yet grasped its meaning.

"Everything encountered is pre-arranged! All your thoughts and actions are also pre-arranged. All that remains is experience and realization. Face all encounters in life with equanimity, that is all!"

"Experience!" Suddenly, in Pan Han's mind, important moments from his past two decades played out like a movie, one after another.

The joy and pain that had been so deeply etched at the time now seemed amusing.

"It seems to be like that." After the movie finished, Pan Han was thoughtful, as if that was indeed the case.

"Alright, host, is there anything else?" The System reverted to its cold voice.

"One last question, are there others in my world who also possess a System?"

The System did not answer but fell silent.

...

After a long pause, the System slowly uttered two words: "Many!"

"Ah? What's going on?"

"System!"

"Are you still there?"

No matter how Pan Han called, the System no longer responded to him. It was as if it had frozen.

"There are actually many people in my world who also have Systems??" Pan Han couldn't believe what he had heard.

"Could those rich people be the ones with Systems?"

"What functions do their Systems have? Will I be able to see through them?"

Pan Han was a bit bewildered, already lost in wild speculation.

Just a few short sentences, but the amount of information was too great for Pan Han to accept at once.

It took him a long time to gradually calm down.

"Experience! Experience! Experience!" He repeatedly chanted the ultimate secret the System had given him.

Although he couldn't fully comprehend this concept yet, it was like a seed planted in his mind.

Waiting for the day it would take root and sprout!

"Forget it, no more thinking, first things first!" Pan Han shook his head and pulled out his phone to call his uncle.

"Hello! Uncle? About the food processing plant we talked about, how soon can it be set up?"

"Hello, nephew? Processing plant? That'll be quick. I've already contacted someone before; we just need to pay and take over the whole operation."

"Good, hurry up, I'm quite urgent here."

"Don't worry, nephew, I'll go sign the contract with him today."

"Okay, then I'll leave it to you, Uncle."

Pan Han hung up the phone, composed himself, and prepared to go upstairs for dinner.

After dinner, he would go to the neighboring city, then transmigrate to the apocalypse for a few days, and return to give the potion to his Second Aunt.

"Ah? You're leaving right after dinner?" His mother was surprised to hear that Pan Han was leaving so soon.

"Yes, I need to deal with Second Aunt's matter quickly."

"Then be careful driving on the road, and rest more in between!" His mother also knew she couldn't persuade Pan Han, so she could only remind him to pay attention to traffic.

"Don't worry, Mom. Take good care of Second Aunt." After saying that, he transferred tens of thousands of yuan to his mother, telling her to buy more delicious food.

After a quick meal, Pan Han bid farewell to his family and drove straight to the neighboring city.

He didn't want to go back to the capital, otherwise he would have to explain to Yan Xiaoli and Wang Doudou.

In the neighboring city, he found a five-star hotel, booked a standard room, and settled everything.

Pan Han chanted the spell, space fluctuated, and he reappeared in the small room on the second floor of Dawn Base.

At this moment, Dawn Base was constructing its outer residential area.

The entire base was bustling with activity, people coming and going.

Among them were many who had come from Mountaintop Stronghold to help.

"Lord Pan, you're done with your business!" Cheng Xiao saw Lord Pan coming down from the second floor and quickly rushed over.

"Come, let Lord Pan check your body." Pan Han opened his arms and embraced Cheng Xiao.

"You're annoying! There are people here." Cheng Xiao playfully hit Pan Han's chest.

He didn't know why, but Pan Han felt more relaxed in this apocalypse, a world full of zombies and mutated beasts.

The apocalypse, ironically, was full of hope!

Perhaps this was dialectical materialism, the unity of opposites!

"Hahaha, wasn't I missing you? How's everyone doing?" Pan Han said, stroking Cheng Xiao's small face.

"Very good, just quite busy. Today, I'm the only one left on duty at Dawn Base."

"Oh?"

"The most important work at Dawn Base right now is the construction of the outer residential area. I'll take you to see it."

"No rush, I brought some supplies over. Let's get them out first." Pan Han finished speaking and walked towards the food storage room.

"Wait for me, Lord Pan!" Seeing that Pan Han had no intention of bringing her along, Cheng Xiao gritted her teeth and followed him.

"Oh? You want to see too?" Pan Han wondered.

"Yes, I haven't seen it before."

"That doesn't follow the rules, little girl!"

"I'm already yours, is there anything I can't see?" Cheng Xiao, who hadn't seen Pan Han for several days, couldn't help but act spoiled.

"Alright, don't regret it, let's go!" Pan Han took Cheng Xiao's small hand.

This storage room was newly built because the supplies Pan Han brought were increasing, requiring a dedicated place for storage.

Normally, the storage room door was locked, and only Dawn Base's on-duty personnel had the key.

"I'll open the door." Cheng Xiao took out the key and skipped to the door.

Pan Han entered the room and saw that there wasn't much stock left, thinking he needed to urge his uncle to produce quickly.

"How do you take them out?" Cheng Xiao rubbed her hands, speaking with unusual excitement.

She had seen a lot, but this was her first time seeing someone conjure supplies out of thin air.

"Wait a moment, I need to loosen my belt."

"Oh, stop dragging your feet, I can't wait."

"Alright, alright, my little darling, a girl, I've never seen one so impatient. Face me and squat down properly." Pan Han held Cheng Xiao's head, instructing her to squat down properly.

"Ah? What the hell kind of posture is this?"

"Don't interrupt!"

Just as Cheng Xiao was about to ask more questions, she heard a commotion behind her, and a cloud of dust flew up.

"Cough, cough." Cheng Xiao choked on the dust and quickly stood up and turned to look.

"Ah!!!!!!!!!!"

Seeing the supplies already piled up behind her, Cheng Xiao's mouth formed an O-shape in astonishment.
