36: Black water all over the ground

After Pan Han entered the tub, the hot water immersed his entire body, and a wave of comfort went straight to his brain. As a northerner, he hadn't really taken many baths, usually just showers.

"I'll help you clean up," Cheng Xiao said gently.

"Oh, that's too much trouble," Pan Han said politely.

"It's fine, it's better to be clean, it will help with detoxification later," Cheng Xiao said, then took out something like a steel wool ball, preparing to scrub his back.

Ah! Ah! Ah!

It hurts!

Pan Han couldn't help but scream.

Cheng Xiao forgot that he hadn't evolved yet and was still in the category of delicate skin. She quickly threw away the steel wool and used her hands to help him clean.

After about twenty minutes of washing, some dirt came off. Cheng Xiao then changed the water and thoroughly rinsed Pan Han.

Pan Han wrapped himself in a bath towel and hid to the side first. Cheng Xiao laid out a mat for him, and beside the mat, she prepared a large bucket of soil.

"Alright, Lord Pan, you can begin," Cheng Xiao handed Pan Han a bottle of yellow liquid medicine.

Pan Han took the medicine, stared at the bottle, silently made his final decision, and drank it all in one gulp.

It was actually a little sweet, cool, and quite pleasant to drink.

Pan Han told Cheng Xiao his feelings, and she said that was correct, that was the taste, absolutely authentic.

Pan Han sat on the recliner, waiting for the detoxification to begin.

Sure enough, in less than three minutes, he felt hot all over, his stomach churned, and his intestines began to cramp.

Beads of sweat the size of beans streamed down Pan Han's forehead. He quickly lay on the recliner, gripping the armrests with both hands.

Cheng Xiao understood that the medicine had begun to take effect. She soaked a hot towel and placed it on his head.

Pan Han couldn't bear the pain and reached out to grab Cheng Xiao's arm, beginning to moan.

At this moment, Bai Mei pushed the door open. Qin Laoda had sent her to check on the situation and see if any help was needed.

Bai Mei touched Pan Han's forehead, testing his temperature with her hand.

"Everything is still normal," Bai Mei said to Cheng Xiao.

"Mhm," Cheng Xiao responded.

Pan Han was now alternating between hot and cold, his whole body curled up, whimpering and groaning.

Just like that, another seven or eight minutes passed, and the medicine's effects intensified.

Pan Han's body temperature directly soared to 40°C, and his body trembled even more severely. The hand gripping Cheng Xiao's arm had lost all strength and hung limply by his side.

Cheng Xiao and Bai Mei quickly changed to warm wet towels and wiped his body.

His body temperature continued to rise, reaching 41°C. Pan Han's heart rate accelerated wildly, his muscles spasmed, his limbs twitched, and he cried out in pain.

The two beautiful women no longer bothered to wipe his body. They quickly found belts to restrain Pan Han's limbs and wrapped a wooden stick in a towel to put in his mouth.

In this manner, Pan Han was restrained, but his limbs struggled even more violently. The recliner creaked under his shaking, about to fall apart.

At this point, black sweat, both foul and fishy, began to flow from Pan Han's head. This smell was even worse than a mixture of durian, stinky tofu, and rotten meat.

Cheng Xiao and Bai Mei continuously changed towels to wipe away the black sweat.

After wiping for about seven or eight minutes, Pan Han stopped moving and completely fainted.

The two exchanged a look, unfastened the restraining belts, removed the wooden stick from his mouth, and lifted Pan Han onto the mat.

Soon after he was moved to the mat, black liquid began to flow from Pan Han's mouth, still with an unbearable fishy odor.

Although Cheng Xiao and Bai Mei had witnessed such scenes many times, they couldn't help but cover their mouths and noses with towels.

The black liquid flowed more and more, as if all the water in Pan Han's body had turned into this substance.

Cheng Xiao spread a layer of fine soil on the ground, used a towel to absorb the black water, wrung it out onto the fine soil, and then quickly shoveled it into a bucket with an iron shovel.

After about seven or eight shovelfuls, black water began to seep out of Pan Han's pores again.

"Goodness, how unhealthy is our Lord Pan? Why is so much flowing out?" Bai Mei said, covering her mouth and nose.

She had no idea that Pan Han had consumed a lot of gutter oil and pesticide residues over the years, and his body had already suffered considerable damage.

Cheng Xiao didn't say anything, just kept using fine soil to bury the black water.

At this moment, Qin Zhong also pushed the door open, and seeing the scene before him, he frowned.

"The Lord's condition isn't very good, is it?" He tilted his head and asked Bai Mei.

"It's alright, I've seen worse," Bai Mei said.

"Hmm, alright. To survive in the apocalypse, Lord Pan will have to pass this test sooner or later," Qin Zhong said.

"Yes. However, Qin Laoda, if Lord Pan were to have an accident, what would become of our base, which has just started to improve?" Bai Mei asked worriedly.

"Bai Mei!" Cheng Xiao didn't wait for Qin Laoda to reply before scolding Bai Mei, telling her to stop talking.

Bai Mei understood Cheng Xiao's concern and immediately fell silent.

The three silently watched Pan Han undergo his tribulation; they truly couldn't help, so they could only pray for him in their hearts.

Although Pan Han was unconscious at this time, he seemed to be having a dream.

He dreamed of his parents and his childhood, when he was carefree. Although his family was not wealthy, his parents loved him dearly. He also dreamed of his little dog, who would wait for him to come home from school every day.

He also dreamed of his ex-girlfriend, Chen Yun. He saved five months of living expenses to buy her a phone, and she lightly kissed him.

...

Pan Han watched his entire life like a movie. He felt a mix of emotions: happiness, loss, regret, gratitude—all kinds of feelings impacting his heart.

Suddenly, a voice from beyond entered his mind: Holy cow, awesome!

He convulsed violently as if he had been electrocuted.

Another voice: Holy cow, awesome!

He twitched again.

The three people beside him frowned when they saw him like this.

"Oh no, Lord Pan is going to have an accident!" Bai Mei quickly knelt down to listen to Pan Han's heartbeat.

Cheng Xiao threw away the shovel, also knelt beside him, looked at him deeply, and whispered, "You must make it through!"

The sound of "Holy cow" seemed to fill Pan Han's brain. He shook his head vigorously, wanting to escape the "Holy cow" filling his head. Unfortunately, it was useless.

"Heartbeat is 190!" Bai Mei shouted.

Cheng Xiao became even more anxious, shaking Pan Han's arm: "Wake up quickly!"

Qin Zhong's eyebrows were furrowed into a figure-eight, but he still didn't move, knowing it was useless.

Suddenly, Pan Han's limbs straightened abruptly, stiffening in a four-limbs-up position, even his little brother stood up.

Cheng Xiao was so scared that she quickly retreated, and Qin Zhong quickly helped her up.

"Brother, is he... is Lord Pan not going to make it?" Cheng Xiao asked Qin Zhong with tears in her eyes.

Qin Zhong looked at Bai Mei. Bai Mei was trying to push down Pan Han's arms, but she couldn't.

Just as the three were at a loss, Pan Han's little brother suddenly sprayed out a thick stream of black water.

Coincidentally, it sprayed right onto Cheng Xiao's face. Cheng Xiao couldn't stand the smell and immediately began to vomit.

Wah! Wah! Wah! Cheng Xiao threw up a lot.

Qin Zhong and Bai Mei were stunned by the scene and quickly found towels to wipe Cheng Xiao's face.

Just as they finished wiping, the several objects that had been stiffly raised on Pan Han suddenly went limp.

Bai Mei no longer cared about Cheng Xiao and quickly knelt down to listen to his heartbeat.

"Heartbeat is dropping!!"

Bai Mei listened for 3 minutes straight, shouting "heartbeat is dropping" seven or eight times.

After 3 minutes, Pan Han's complexion actually began to turn rosy, and his breathing became steady.

"What's going on??" Even Qin Laoda, who was well-experienced, couldn't help but ask.

"He should be fine now, Lord Pan made it through," Bai Mei said solemnly.

Upon hearing this, Cheng Xiao was overjoyed and took a towel to wipe the remaining black water from his body.

Just like that, another ten minutes passed.

Pan Han made some whimpering sounds from his mouth, and his eyes began to blink.

The three of them, Qin Zhong, exchanged glances, joy evident on their faces.

"Get the mouthwash ready!" Qin Laoda told Cheng Xiao.

"Okay."

...

Another 5 minutes passed, Pan Han slowly opened his eyes, shook his head, and tried to raise his hand. He could move, and his consciousness had recovered.

"He made it! Lord Pan passed the first test!" Bai Mei shouted happily.
